Kinnai, a loner bear beastman had lived in the wild forest for many winters.
He has lived here since he fleed his home as a youngling. He knew this forest like the back of his hand and had paid in blood and sweat to call the place he treads his territory.
Kinnai had hunted only two days ago and should be sleeping for at least a week and somedays before going out of his cave again.
But last night was a bad night for him. He dreamt of his ahma, which had put him in a bad mood.
So that was why he was out of his cave right now, roaming like a lost soul in the cold forest . He was just in search of something to take his frustration on.
He had chosen the north side of his territory to hunt on and had been walking for a while but saw no prey. This was quite odd as he had not been hear this winter and prey hear should not be alert and hide. He had even hidden his breath and masked his scent.
After walking for an hour with nothing to show for it, Kinnai turned towards the river that cut across the north of his territory. A sprite bird he had saved lives there, maybe would know why there was this strangeness.

Kinnai in his bear form, went up the great tree. It would have looked quite funny if someone had seen it from the ground. Fortunately no one was there to see this brown bear's joke.
It took him a bit of effort but he made it up there, he knew the bird won't come down ot him or worse pertend he was no there just because of laziness.
"Dead bird Ozi , wake up. I have something to ask you." *
Kinnai roared.
That bird would pretend he didn't hear otherwise.
"Must you shout so loud so close to my bed? You almost scread this old bird to death." +
A snow colored bird swayed out of a hole in the tree.
Ozi is a Myriad Color spirt bird. It has a rather fierce looking build but no real attack power. It's a bird of prey that hunts small animal by camouflaging itself, waiting for prey and attacking.
It had made a mistake and was caught hunting in a condor's territory, almost died running for it's dear life and took shelter in Kinnai's territory.
The bear found him and almost ate him (he still shadders at the thought ) but found stopped after he heard Ozi shouting for marcy in the spirit language. Apparently, kinnai did not eat spirit beasts because one saved him before. He let him stay and they have become sort of friends/neighbors-ish.
Anyway that's in the past.
Right now, what Ozi wanted to know was why this should-have -been - sleeping bear was at his doorstep when he disliked climbing so much.
"so what do I owe this unpleasant visit?"
He asked the bear which was sitting in a funny way infront of him.
"where did all the prey on this side go?"
Ozi was about to make a joke but kinnai quickly added
"You could not have eaten them all so don't joke with me, am not in the mood."
What a spoil spot he is, Ozi thought.
The bird though for a while and turned to the bear.
"They must have run away because of the flaming thing that fell from the sky last night."
'Flaming thing' from the sky?
Kinnai looked oddly at Ozi.
"Where did it fall Ozi? I will go and look for it."
The bird looked at him for a moment and pointed to the west of the tree.
"It fall towards that side. You should find it if you walk far for abit. But you must be careful I only noticed such a thing in the Strom because of the strong strange energy that came along it."
Kinnai looked at the bird in gratitude and went down the tree. His path towards the flaming odd thing from the sky.
Ozi returned to the tree hole, a prayer for safety in it's mouth for it's friend and savior.
