Chereads / Death God's System / Chapter 4 - Final results

Chapter 4 - Final results

"No affinity found"

Black lines could be seen on Kei's forehead, he rubbed his eyes and glanced at the display again, but there was no change in the screen.

"Could this be related to my death?" Keiren thought his mana affinity was water the last time, but this time he had no affinity. What was going on?

"Due to the absence of mana affinity, contestant Keiren gets zero in the second exam."

"Hahahha!" Keiren began to laugh, his voice filled with self-pity, he could not help but regret having killed himself. After all, The soul weapons are nothing but materializations of your soul. What makes it different is the ability to siphon mana from nature, that's where mana affinity comes. It is also why there is no ranking system for soul weapons.

"Second exam finished, posting results!"

Countless names could be seen on the screen,

Many parents were happy, sad, and even proud but a single 18-year-old girl was standing there, expressionless. Like one had seen a ghost.

"This time's results are outstanding. more than 11 students have received B+ ranking!"

A few seconds later, another part of the screen was updated.

Global rankings:

1] Elliot Hartwell

Mana affinity:

Fire( SSS+ )

2] Samuel

Mana affinity:

1) Lightning ( SSS- )

.

Every person there stuck to the parents of children who made it to the top 10.

"Elliot? That's my daughter!"

"My son's name is Samuel! He is the second rank in the global rankings-"

Every reporter broadcasted talks happening in front of the test building to the whole world. It was then that one of the reporters walked towards a certain someone.

"Aren't you the student of divine sky sect, Aanya Astaroth? What rank did your brother get, ma'am." The reporter questioned in a mocking tone.

"Yes, his name is Keiren.."

"What! Isn't she the one who scored first in the ceremony 3 years ago? Her affinity was also flames which ranked( SSS- )"

"How can such trash be her brother? Are they even siblings?"

Everyone showed expressions of pity to Aanya which she couldn't control. She went to the betting corner and exclaimed out loud.

"I bet 120 mana stones that my brother will be among the top 100 scorers in the final global rankings!"

The reporter's mocking laughter echoed through the room, the words stinging like a thousand needles. "What! You may be a genius, but even a kid can tell that your brother is a trash!" His sneer was palpable, a mixture of disdain and incredulity directed at her and her brother.

Her fists clenched, anger flaring in her chest. She had always known her brother's potential, even if the world couldn't see it. The pain of their parents' disappearance and the burden of their uncertain fate had been enough to bear, without the added weight of public scorn.

She stepped forward, her voice steady but laced with a cold fury. "You underestimate him," she said, her eyes locking onto the reporter's. "My brother has faced challenges you can't even imagine. He's not trash, and I'll prove it to you."

Everyone believed that it was just her love speaking and tried to take advantage of it by betting against her. One had to know that these mana stones were very expensive.

"The third examination is starting, please note that cultivation potential is the maximum ranking your affinity can reach through cultivation.

After another 5 minutes of scanning, the final exam was completed.

"Final global rankings updated,

1] Keiren Astaroth

No affinity, cultivation potential ( S )

2] Ella

No affinity, cultivation potential (??)

3] Tie between Elliot Hartwell and Samuel

Elliot Hartwell

flames, cultivation potential ( A )

Samuel

Inheritance of lightning, cultivation potential ( A )

The whole crowd was silenced by the results. Some were sad while some were happy and just one of them was dead. Umm, sorry for the spoiler… Let's go 2 minutes back in time-

As soon as the results came out, people started whispering,

"How can this be? I lost all my money. Never did I think that girl would win the bet! Said, someone

"Does this mean that her brother will at least reach S rank if cultivated properly?!" A man asked in a trembling voice

"Her brother should still be naïve! Let's check the little guy out! " Another woman thought.

Just at this moment, a blast was heard between the crowd.

"Aaaaaa! Save m-"

It was the reporter who had a bet with Aanya. He was dead.

After all, who would stop a prodigy of one of the great sects from doing something? In this world, power mattered the most. The ones who died are simply at fault for not being strong enough.

Aanya then went to the bidding area and took 12 times the amount she had put in.

It was at this moment that the children inside the building came running outside.

"Big sis Aanya! I am here…," Said a young boy. His hair was dyed white, his eyes were like his sister's, hazel in color and with 5'10 height. The white shirt and black jeans made him look slim while his pointy nose amplified his other features.

The boy hugged Aanya as he saw her crying,

"Hey, sis! What happened? Why are you crying? Did I do something wrong?" Keiren exclaimed, retracting a few steps back.

However, the girl pulled him to her tight as she said,

"You silly boy, congratulations! I am just very happy for you!"

'Hahahha! Indeed, it was worth buying that item worth 100 mana stones to check his cultivation potential beforehand! At first, when I checked his potential while he was sleeping, I was stunned still, but now I believe it! Now I have 1200 mana stones!' Aanya thought, her mood was happy

Everyone was staring at them as Kei was the first rank in the global rankings!

As one of the reporters took the courage to ask him some questions, Aanya held his hand and flew back to their house.

'It was time to tell Keiren a few things about this world'
