Chapter 8 - Chapter eight

Rebecca walked in the office where Margaretj was signinf her papers, she looked up and a smile draw on her face when she noticed Rebecca's presence.

"Hello Rebecca, how was your first day here?"

"Though."

"I see. Yet you seem calmer. When you earlier arrived here you were very puzzled and angry."

Rebecca nodded, "I was but now, after spending the entire day here I realized I want to give this school a chance."

"I'm glad you do, I'm sure you will go a long way here."

"I hope so."

Margareth curled her head as She laid her chin on her palm, "you'll have a room on the residential palace of Xilentia but the girl in your room will leave the room the next week. Andreas said you could stay at his place in the meantime."

"Can't I get back at home just to sleep?"

"I'm sorry but that's not the school's politics, students can only get back at their homes during holidays."

"Andreas has a huge house with plenty of guest rooms, he often let new freshmen stay at his place as they settle in. But if you dont feel comfortable in that you can always come to my place."

"It's fine then, I just miss my family."

"you will eventually get used to it." Margarethe offered an encouraging smile as she tapped her finger on the paper that the young enchantress had to sign to apply.

Rebecca signed the papers.

"Perfect, I'll let Andreas know that you'll stay at his place, meantime, dear Enchantress, I have a little gift for you. Come."

she put the papers to the side and then stood up from the chair. She headed to the bottom of the room, where a wooden locker stood. After making sure Rebecca followed her, she waved her hand near to the handle and magically it unlocked, the door spread open.

A gold bracelet hang to a wall covered in a red soft fabric.

"This was your mother's bracelet. Its made of the purest gold in the realm, it was a gift from the school to celebrate her rise. She left it here before..."

she hesitated and shook her head, "she left it here so that we could keep it in a safe place. But I am sure she would want you to have it."

the bracelet was sparkling in its stateliness , it was made of a gold chain adorned by red emeralds.

"This is so beautiful," Rebecca said astonished. "Are you sure I can have this?"

"very sure." the principal smiled as she wrapped the bracelet around her wrist and locked it. It just fit perfectly, so perfectly that Rebecca's eyes wet in commotion. It was the first thing she had of her mother, the first and only thing that tied them together through an invisibile thread.

For the first time in her entire life, she finally felt close to her.

With the bracelet on, she felt more complete, as if her other half of her heart finally had reconciled.

She took a long deep breath to let the essence of her mother sink in.

"I guess you are ready to begin your journey now." Margareth smiled to Rebecca.

"I do. I am ready." She replied staring in awe the bracelet as she rolled her wristle. Under every angle It was so beautiful.

Then Margareth gave her the school's uniform and some clothes to use before all her stuff was sent from her hometown.

Rebecca had one more hour to spend before Andreas wouod came pick her up.

So she opted for a quick call home, she needed to call her parents and let them know she was alright.

Meantime Andreas was in Margareth's office.

"So what do you think of her?"

"She has great capabilities, she surely took her mother's powerfulness. Yet I am afraid she may have taken her father's anger and restleness.

She seems unable to control the flame of her rage when It set..."

"Poor her, she must be so angry at the entire world. I can't Imagine how angry she would be if she knew the entire truth about her mother. About that, I'm afraid the other students may target her and poke her pstience bantering about her mother. How can we prevent that from happening?"

"I had already talked to the class and reccomended them not to reveal anything about her mother until we tell her."

Margaret wrinked her nose, "It wouldn't be the first time they don't respect our reccomendation."

"That's why I also warned them that in case they went against our will, they Will be expelled from Xilentia."

"Andreas!"

"We can't risk to put her life at risk just because of some petty girls'."

He gestured with his hand as he shook his head.

Margareth raised her eyebrows as a light smile curled her lips.

"What!!?" He asked noticing Margareth's sneaky smile.

"You genuinely care about her. Oh, this Is rare." She said revealing the reason behind that smile.

"I care about what she may do if she used her anger against the realm."

"Mhh, alright. Keep me posted about her progress in the training."

"Sure thing. See you tomorrow."

When Andreas left Margareth smiled before sighing.

"Oh men..." She complained to herself.
