Andreas opened the door of his expensive car, Roselyn looked at the car impressed, wondering how he could afford that type of car.
Although Andreas could hear her thoughts, he didn't bother to answer her doubts.
She sat in the front seat, near him.
He drove for a few meters leading to a secret entrance in the back of the school. A camera scanned his car and, as soon as it recognizes it, the portal opens.
'I can't believe this is real.' Roselyn thought while the car stops in front of a huge purple garden, composed of purple floating plants that blow out glittering air. The little flowers were as big as a palm of a hand and had the aspect of a sunflower with the only difference that they had purple petals and stems.
Roselyn was astonished, she couldn't believe her eyes.
He smiled noticing Roselyn's expression. She was like a child who saw snow for the first time. He gets out of the car. Roselyn walked carefully, trying not to step on any flower.
"Can they see us?" She inquired in a murmur.
They definitely could since they started nodding at her. She laughed out loud, it seemed so bizarre, yet at the same time so incredible.
"I used to spend most of my childhood here, when I was little not many magicians were sent here. Just a few of us survived, people used to haunt us, since they considered us different and dangerous, for this reason, nobody knows our existence now. Because normal people can't accept us, they fear different people. So all I could do was stay here, have a chat with those plants, and then study and work on my powers."
"How old are you?" She asked, trying not to sound rude.
He smiled, he got used to that question since people asked her age a lot, but for having lived during the years in which people haunted witches, it was a legitimate question.
'Does it mean that I'm immortal too? I don't want to be immortal'
Being immortal would mean living while all the people you love die. It would mean living all the catastrophes that may happen to the Earth. It would mean having to wander around the Earth forever, with nobody but yourself. And especially, it would mean having to deal with herself forever. And Roselyn was not ready for that.
"I'm very old. I was born in 1700 and I was about your age when people started to haunt us. I am immortal, yes, Roselyn. That's the reason why I'm rich and I can afford this car. I've been saving money for more than 600 years. However, unfortunately, I can't tell you if you're immortal or not, that's something you will possibly achieve in case you become your ultimate essence."
Although Rebecca appreciated his explanation, she couldn't understand what he meant, to her, those were just a bunch of words.
She nodded pretending to understand.
She started to look around the purple garden. The plants had a funny look, they had a ducky snout and their eyes were so little that you could barely see them when standing nearly.
Roselyn slouched forward to look at one of those closely. The plant smiled and, when she got close enough, that magic thing bit her nose with its little mouth.
Roselyn backed off "ouch!" She massages her nose and frowned in an expression of pain.
Andreas laughed at the scene "they're spiteful at first."
"Oh, I noticed!" She replied, folding her arms and shaking her head.
"Karty, apologize." He raised an eyebrow looking at the plant.
The creature nodded no, shutting its little mouth.
"Karty, huh? May I ask how old are you?" Rose asked leaning again in.
The flower tried to bite her once again, but this time, Becca quickly backed off, and the plant bit itself as a result. That being made sounds inaudible as Roselyn giggled.
"I am spiteful too, Karty. By the way, I'm Roselyn."
Andreas giggled lightly "I can't believe you're squabbling with a plant."
A light floated next to them, and at the sigh of It Andreas hurried to close his eyes so Rebecca did the same. He then took her hand and held it tightly.
At that sudden gesture, Rebecca held her breath, his touch felt so warm and her heart oddly skipped a beat before drumming rapidly in her chest.
She swallowed down and held his hand tightly in return.
In a matter of a few seconds, the couple arose from the floor and floated, the flowers turned phosphorescent, emanating a colorful light. Their sweet voices played a melody which created a path leading to a blue huge portal.
Andreas opened his eyes and took a deep breath, "the access if free, we should go."
The second he let go of her hand, Rebecca felt an in comune emptiness in her chest.
When the portal opened, an immense office was revealed. The walls of the room were painted in bordeaux and decorated with detailed ancient gold ornaments. There were libraries all around the walls and a huge desk in the center of the room. a black leather designed chair was situated behind the desk. On the right side, a luxury sofa was filling the remaining part of the room and, in front of it stood a glass table with a plant and some ancient teacups on it.
"This is my office." He said, proudly.
Roselyn looked at the room stunned.
'He did save money for 600 years and it shows' each furniture seemed to came from a magazine.
Rebecca thought to herself and Reading her mind, Andreas took a laugh.
