Turning around, Kenji blinked as he watched Uraraka jog over with a smile on her face and her hand waving in the air.
"Uraraka!" Toga screamed as she ran over and hugged Uraraka like they were lifelong friends, "You made it in!"
Uraraka grinned from ear to ear, "I know I can't believe it! I really didn't think I would make it in, and I have you guys to thank for it!"
"You would have been fine on your own," Toga said cheerfully, "Oh by the way what class did you get placed into?"
Uraraka rubbed the back of her head bashfully, "1-A, though I don't know why. What about you guys?"
"1-B," Toga responded plainly before she pointed over her shoulder at Kenji, "He got Class 1-A as well, but this works out perfectly!"
Uraraka blinked, "Why?"
Toga grinned mischievously, "Because now I have someone to keep an eye on him when I'm not around."
"What?!" Uraraka asked as a slight blush spread across her cheeks, "A-are you guys?"
Toga nodded with a gleam in her eyes, "Yep, though don't worry I'm not the jealous type. Actually the other day-"
"Alright that's enough of that," Kenji interrupted as he stepped up next to Toga, "So Uraraka what do you think about the ranking system?"
Uraraka looked from Toga to Kenji before deciding that it was better to just move on, "Honesty I'm a bit nervous, my quirk isn't that good for fighting."
"Please do you know how broken gravity manipulation is, a bit of training and a few quirk evolutions you'll be a powerhouse," Kenji countered enthusiastically, "Actually now that I think about it, that's probably how they sorted the classes."
Toga pouted and jabbed Kenji in the side with her elbow, "You saying I don't have any talent?"
"Ow," Kenji bemoaned as he rubbed his ribs, "You're really saying that after all I did for you?"
Toga grinned as she stood up on her toes and placed a kiss on Kenji's cheek, "Of course not."
Uraraka blushed watching the two and nervously tapped her fingers together, "S-so h-how do you guys know each other?"
"Oh Kenji took me in after my father kicked me out of his apartment," Toga responded plainly as she latched onto Kenji's arm.
"W-wait does that mean…you guys live together?" Uraraka asked in a hushed tone.
Toga nodded with a lewd smile, "Yep all by ourselves, which is great because I'm a screamer."
Kenji couldn't help but smack his face as Uraraka's face turned bright red and a figurative plume of steam rose into the air from her head.
"You did that on purpose," Kenji accused Toga as he turned to stare at the minx latching onto his arm only for her to stick out her tongue and giggle.
---
After Uraraka recovered from Toga's oversharing they dropped her off at Class 1-B before Kenji and Uraraka walked together to their homeroom.
'The school is somehow even larger on the inside than on the outside,' Kenji thought to himself as they walked through the hallways passing by other students talking as they tried to find their way around the school.
Glancing at Uraraka Kenji could still see the faint blush across her cheek and he could help but feel a bit guilty, "Sorry about Toga by the way she tends to get overly excited."
"Oh..no it's fine, I think it's actually pretty cute to see how much you guys love each other," Uraraka responded with a slight smile on her face, "I just didn't expect her to be so…open about it."
Kenji opened his mouth to agree when he caught sight of a sign ahead of them, "I think this is us."
Uraraka looked up and nodded, "I guess so…is it bad I can't help but feel a bit nervous?"
"Not at all, I feel the same way," Kenji replied just as they stepped into the classroom.
All at once Kenji felt the room's attention fall onto his shoulders as several pairs of eyes fell on him, 'I was right…this is going to be a bloodbath.'
Scanning around the room Kenji put names to faces one by one.
The first gaze he met was openly hostile and the iconic spiky blonde hair was a dead give away, 'Katsuki Bakugo, quirk explosion.'
Next my eyes landed on another boy with spiky hair, but his was a bright red color and his gaze was significantly less hostile, 'Eijiro Kirishima, quirk hardening.'
Next was a girl with long vine-like hair complete with thorns and a calculating look in her eyes, 'Ibara Shiozaki, quirk vines.'
A girl with orange hair and blue eyes, 'Itsuka Kendo quirk, Big Fist.'
A no nonsense boy with short black hair and glasses, 'Tenya Ida, quirk Engine'
'Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, quirk steel.'
'Fumikage Tokoyami quirk, Dark Shadow.'
'Yosetsu Awase quirk, Weld'
'Mina Ashido, quirk Acid'
'Tsuyu Asui, quirk Frog'
'Denki Kaminari, quirk Electrification.'
'Kyoka Jiro, quirk Earphone Jack.'
'Shoto Todoroki, quirk Half-Cold Half-Hot.'
'Momo Yaoyorozu, quirk Creation.'
'Juzo Honenuki, quirk Softening.'
'Nirengeki Shoda, quirk Twin impact.'
'Yui Kodai, quirk Size.'
'And last but not least, Izuku Midoriya, quirk One For all?'
I mentally named everybody in the room in a split second along with their quirks, 'They definitely grouped people by strength, I think all the top ten places for the entrance exam in the anime are in this class as well.'
A chill passed over Kenji's skin as his mind replayed the past month of training he had immersed himself in, the gallons of sweat that had poured off his body and the early mornings waking up so sore it hurt to breathe. Kenji wanted to prove it hadn't been for nothing, that all his hard work had paid off… he wanted to fight.
"Um…hello everybody my name's Ochaco Uraraka… it's a pleasure to meet you all." Uraraka stepped forward and bowed, breaking the tense in the air with her pleasant introduction.
Letting an easy going smile spread across his face Kenji waved to the room, "Kenji Aotoma, nice to meet you guys."
