Chapter 31 - The Deucalion

A primal roar ripped through the storm as Jacob charged towards the Deucalion. His pupils had dilated, glowing with an eerie yellow light, a testament to the raw power coursing through his veins. The storm echoed his fury, the rain lashing against his face like needles.

The Deucalion, a hulking monstrosity of twisted flesh and bone, met him head-on. Its claws, like sharpened blades, swiped at Jacob, tearing through his clothes and leaving shallow gashes on his skin. But Jacob, fueled by adrenaline and desperation, didn't flinch. He parried the blows with his sword, the clang of metal against bone echoing in the night.

He was faster than the Deucalion, his movements fueled by the beast within. He darted in and out, landing quick strikes, aiming for the creature's exposed flesh. But the Deucalion's hide was thick, almost impenetrable. Jacob's blade met resistance, sparking and deflecting harmlessly.
