Chereads / Armageddon: Death Incarnate / Chapter 2 - 300 Years to the Past

Chapter 2 - 300 Years to the Past

"Hey! Don't just stand in the middle of the road, do you want to die!?"

A loud sound of horn struck my ears, awakening me from the shock. In a reflex, I drew my Phothone towards the origin of the sound.

A buzz of electricity with a rainbow glow comes off my weapon.

Crafted with the hardest of minerals, Engraved with the runes of all my slayed foes, Enchanted with unbreaking durability, reduced chanting time, and decimating power, it is a dangerous weapon at the hands of an expert such as mine.

"He's got a weapon! Run!"

"Call the cops!!!"

"Terrorist!"

It was then I was able to come back to my senses, seeing so many people running at a slow pace.

'Force Teleportation?'

Somehow I came here instantaneously from my home, which is impossible. I've placed wards the moment I came inside so I would have noticed any spells incoming.

I looked around the unfamiliar scenery in front. Tall buildings that pierced the skies, A yellow sun illuminating everything and people with really smooth skins.

It was as if I was looking at a painting, something unbelievably gorgeous can't be real.

"Where am I?" I wondered to myself.

"Grececo" A feminine voice surprises me from the back. When I turned around, I find myself a beautiful woman who were around my age. Her golden hair waived along the wind.

I pointed my Phothone at this lady immediately, she may be beautiful, but she managed to sneak behind me. I would not take chances of advancement from unknown individuals.

"Is this how you say thanks? How rude" she started doing some strange movements, as if she didn't take me seriously.

"Lies! This isn't my home, where am I!?" I started activating Phothone but the moment it turned on, it suddenly lost its power.

This is bad. The enemy has a disruption skill and great mobility, a well built assassin.

"Looks like your magic staff is broken Gandalf!" She suddenly burst out laughing and it irritated me a little. I admit I was embarrassed but her laughter is making me lose sanity.

While she is having fun, I made sure she isn't hiding any weapon to strike. It was then I noticed a bump on her backside.

Shock instilled in my body. Just the thought of meeting a Mage is enough to give fear for a normal Raider, let alone meeting for real.

[Decoy]

Activating my personal favourite spell, I turn around and leave in a hurry while invisible, leaving a decoy of myself that will last at least a minute if unattended. It should give me a bit of time before that mage be notified.

....Or at least that should've happened.

I don't know why, but the moment I activated my skill, I felt nothing. Not a portion of my mana leaving nor the effect of invisibility engulfing my body.

"Hey! Are you alright?" A soft and delicate skin touched my shoulder. It is totally different from the other mages I've met in the past.

"You... Aren't you a mage? Why are you toying me? Where's your honor!?" I said while waving Phothone at her. I don't care if it's broken, I just need to deal with her.

My words seem to work, her expression changed rapidly.

"So you knew huh? It's not everyday to meet a regular human who's aware of the supernatural" Her beautiful smile turned to a serious one. She threw some punches in the air and let go of her braids.

"Regular human? You mages really love to belittle us raiders. Just to inform you, countless dreads fell before my very hands!" I boastfully stated my achievement.

Mages are arrogant and prideful beings, they do not let other species surpass them in everything. In a sense, it's a tactic to make mages lose focus and think narrowly.

"Raiders? Dreads? Human, what crap are you even saying?" She suddenly lowered her hands and stood there like a mentally ill person with her head tilted to the side.

"..."

"Police! Drop to the ground or we'll shoot!" We were suddenly interrupted by the shout of a man holding a strange object. This man must be the slow people called.

Showing no fear, the mage came towards the man slowly and punched him in the face, obliterating his whole head. The people who came with the man to watch screamed and scattered as fast as they came.

She turned her head to me with a smile on her face then teleported directly beside me and teleported again this time taking me forcefully.

It took me by surprise, I tried to resist but a mage's strength is nothing to scoff at. It's been a long time since I fought a mage, my skills are getting rusty.

In seconds, she teleported to an abandoned place. The scenery is very different from before, the stench of rotting flesh and garbage drills in my nose.

"Now we talk. First, If you know I'm a mage then why do you want to fight me? And secondly, what nonsense are you saying earlier? I'm Intrigued" She dropped me by carefully, even me dusting off.

I looked at her for a while and began to relax. She's a mage specialized in Teleportation. Spamming that spell without chanting is a nightmare and requires complex calculations. She also uses spells without a wand, meaning she's already a Master.

What confuses me is that she doesn't know us Raiders and Dreads. As far as I know, the Armageddon still occurred in the Realm of Magic, albeit it was easily controlled because the natives are already familiar with magic and fighting. Us Raiders also sometimes travel in their realm for missions and competitions, it's very unlikely that they were not known even in their outermost lands.

"Hellooooooo!" She sneaked behind me again and proceeded to shout at my ear.

I resisted the urge to punch her beautiful face, her active behaviour is my ticket here getting out alive.

"Woman, I would talk if you answer my question first. Where am I for real?"

"I said it before, you are in Grececo! I don't even know where you can find more slums than Grececo!" She said very seriously. Her eyes didn't even move from staring at me.

She's telling the truth, Grececo indeed had the most slums in the whole planet. But how is it possible that the Grececo I know is totally different?

"Are you sure you didn't know anything about Raiders and Dreads?" I questioned while glancing at the watch in my hand, somehow it latched itself without my will.

"No"

"Ummm... How about Zlantras?"

"No"

"Armageddon?"

"I've heard something like that recently, but No"

"Class?"

"No..."

***

It lasted a minute, as far as she said, the current state of the world, the reason my body didn't feel right, and the people roaming unarmed. I came to a conclusion.

'The world hasn't experienced the Armageddon yet'

'I traveled 300 years to the past!'
