Chapter 74 - Preparing Gifts

"Go wash up. "I'll go get the medicine," she said.

Ruan Shu nodded in agreement.

Once her older brother left, Ruan Shu began to smooth out her slightly frizzy hair.

She washed her face and brushed her teeth diligently. As she was tying her hair, her older brother returned.

Her arms were slightly shorter now, which made it a bit challenging to tie her hair up high. It made her face turn red and flushed.

"Let's not bother with your hair for now," Ruan Fengsi said as he walked over and unwrapped the bandage from her foot.

Now, apart from a little redness, there was no visible injury.

Ruan Fengsi pressed the area where she had sprained her ankle with his calloused fingers. "Does it still hurt?" He asked.

Ruan Shu pursed her lips, her round, cat-like eyes looking at him with a hint of tears.

"Big brother, be gentle," she said in a soft, plaintive voice.

With the force her older brother was using, even if there was nothing wrong, it would still hurt.

Ruan Fengsi: ...

Although he described her as delicate, he felt somewhat guilty.

"It's not completely healed yet, let's continue to wrap it," he said.

Ruan Shu, clutching his clothes, asked softly, "Brother, my foot doesn't hurt anymore." "Can I walk?"

"You can, but no running," Ruan Shu obediently nodded in agreement.

After breakfast, her older brother went to work, leaving Ruan Shu to rest at home.

Upon considering her brother's suggestion to renovate her room, Ruan Shu took Little Rice to the balcony of her bedroom.

There were a few pots of flowers she had planted, but they hadn't grown as tall as her finger after all this time. But they were in good spirits, and Ruan Shu had been taking care of them.

She carried the flowers downstairs and found a corner where they wouldn't be in the way.

"I'll bring you back when my room is renovated," she murmured to the small pots of flowers.

She missed her father again. It had been less than four days since he left, and she was looking forward to his return.

Slowly walking back to her hanging basket nest, Ruan Shu lay down with a soft, fluffy pillow, almost sinking into the cushion.

Little Rice ran back and forth, bringing out a variety of snacks.

"Shu Shu, have some snacks," Little Rice said.

"Okay, Little Rice, you're so good," Ruan Shu said, taking the dried fish, coconut crisps, and biscuits that Little Rice had brought yesterday.

But her mind was wandering, and she was thinking about the crafts she had learned in her past life.

Origami, wind chimes, and macramé.

Her memory was quite good, and there were few games she could play. She could do these crafts that her teacher had taught her all by herself, so they were some of the few activities she had.

The origami was too complicated, and the simpler ones didn't feel suitable for gifting.

As for the wind chimes, she would have to check if there were any materials available online.

Ruan Shu searched online and found some materials that could be used to make wind chimes. She could use beautiful shells and pearls that the sea demons had given her.

She also found some beautiful threads that were perfect for macramé.

There were many beautiful shells available online, and the total cost was less than a hundred dollars. She could pay directly with her father's secondary card.

After placing the order, she snacked and searched for wind chimes and macramé in this world.

Huh... there were none?

There were many beautiful crafts available, but there were no small wind chimes, only very large ones that resembled wind chime-shaped lamps.

Was she searching the wrong way?

Ruan Shu searched for a long time but eventually gave up.

There were no wind chimes, let alone macramé.

Even the symbolic Chinese knots were not available.

But... they were now in interstellar space, and it appeared that the human world and the countries she was familiar with had vanished. She didn't know if they had disappeared in the river of historical evolution or if this world simply didn't have that blue planet.

Ruan Shu bit her finger, feeling a bit lost. She searched online for "Earth."

After searching for a while, she found some planets with similar names, but none of them matched the familiar planet she had seen in her textbooks and on TV.

After searching and searching, Ruan Shu felt disheartened.

She decided to think about what gifts to make instead.

But... the fact that the planet from her past life couldn't be found made her feel a bit lost.

The materials she bought online arrived quickly, and Ruan Shu arranged them on the table, along with the pearls that Yunhuan had given her.

The shells she bought were relatively small because larger ones wouldn't look as good. And these shells were different from the ones she knew, not only in shape but also in color and appearance. They looked more like gemstones, but they were not as heavy as real gemstones. She had bought six different colors of shells and was now worried about how to make holes in them.

"Little Rice, do you have a machine for making holes in shells and pearls?" She asked.

Little Rice quickly searched and showed her some machines suitable for children to use.

After watching several demonstration videos, Ruan Shu selected a machine that resembled a pistol and was simple to operate.

While waiting for the machine, Ruan Shu started making macramé with the ropes, starting with the simplest flat knot.

The thickness of the rope was just right, and she focused on her work. The sunlight shining on her made her look like a glowing snow-white rice ball with a chubby face as white as pudding. She looked so cute that one might want to take a bite.

The day passed with online classes and crafting.

By the time she finished making three beautiful shell wind chimes, as well as several snowflake-shaped macramé and Chinese knots, four days had passed.

That afternoon, she leaned back in her soft nest, humming softly to herself, skillfully finishing a delicate Chinese knot.

She hung a pearl at the top and a tassel at the bottom. When she picked it up and shook it gently, it looked especially beautiful, giving her a sense of accomplishment.

Ruan Shu smiled, her eyes sparkling, already contemplating whom to give this to.

Her older brother received the brown-red one, Qingran received the white snowflake macramé, and she would give this combination of Chinese knots and macramé to her father. She also wanted to make a beautiful snowflake ornament for her father.

Suddenly, a shadow fell, and Ruan Shu looked up, holding the Chinese knot.

"Dad!" Ruan Shu was overjoyed. One moment she was thinking about her father, and the next he was standing in front of her.

She even doubted if she was seeing things, and then quickly rubbed her eyes.
