Faced with Aegon's question, Luo Jinghong shook her head helplessly. "Since you already have wives, and it looks like two of them, why bother entangling with me?"
Just as Aegon was about to answer, members of the Luo family arrived. The moment Luo Jinghong conceded, a servant had rushed back to report.
The newcomer was Luo Jinghong's father, Luo Zetao, a handsome middle-aged man, likely in his forties, with a thick and beautiful beard.
He first scrutinized Aegon, then frowned as he looked at Irene and Selene. He could immediately see their relationship. The Xi Empire practiced monogamy with multiple concubines, but the faint magical power emanating from Irene and Selene suggested that his daughter should be the concubine instead.
He had never felt such vast magical power, even from the Luo family patriarch, let alone from two people at once. And this red-haired man gave him a sense of profound simplicity. Apart from being handsome, he really just looked like an ordinary twenty-year-old.
The Luo family didn't particularly uphold the idea of lifelong monogamy, but with their status on the Eastern Continent, they clearly didn't need to degrade themselves. Luo Jinghong could have better options, even if she never married. Luo Zetao wanted to refuse immediately.
Luo Zetao didn't speak Ishugarian, but from his daughter's explanation, he understood that Aegon was a hidden powerhouse, and Selene could teleport an entire street's worth of people with a wave of her hand. Irene, holding a deer antler staff, was clearly not an ordinary person either.
Father and daughter didn't see eye to eye. Luo Zetao's mustache trembled with anger. "Nonsense! Do you think your great-grandfather would agree?"
"I honor my bet!"
"This is not the time to be stubborn! They're obviously from another continent. If they don't settle here, you won't even see them easily! And didn't you have a second condition, that they must be to your liking?"
"I do like..."
She was speechless, turning instead to Aegon. "Can you tell me where you come from?"
"Ishgar, Kingdom of Fiore."
The Kingdom of Fiore was a medium-sized kingdom on the Ishgar Continent, not particularly notable and located in the southwest. Luo Jinghong hadn't heard of it.
Father and daughter continued arguing, while Selene watched the scene with great interest.
Irene looked at Selene with a strange expression. "What? You understand their language?"
Selene replied righteously, "No! Not at all!"
Aegon and Irene detected a sense of righteous indignation in her tone.
Eventually, unable to win the argument, Luo Zetao tied up Luo Jinghong. Aegon, Irene, and Selene watched this unfold like a silent play.
"Dare to come back with me? My father said if the great-grandfather agrees, I can marry you."
Selene gave her a "grumpy old man on a subway with a phone" look. "You're that eager to marry him?"
Luo Jinghong stared at Aegon before turning her head and huffing. "I'm just keeping my bet!"
"I ask you one question: dare or not?"
"Lead the way."
It didn't matter much to Aegon whether he took Luo Jinghong or not. Though her long legs were indeed pleasing... and definitely fun to play with.
Watching the interaction between Luo Zetao and his daughter, Irene felt a pang of sympathy. She whispered in Aegon's ear, "He's just worried about his daughter."
"Don't worry."
Aegon understood. Parents who love their children think long-term.
Luo Zetao was worried his daughter might be bullied by Irene and Selene if she followed Aegon to Ishgar, where he couldn't help her, no matter how influential the Luo family was on the Eastern Continent.
"I haven't asked you yet, what exactly do you do? And what is your magic?"
Luo Jinghong didn't care much about these things, but negotiations needed some leverage. She couldn't be clueless when her great-grandfather asked.
"Dragon Slayer Magic, and I'm a manor owner, more or less."
"No wonder..."
There were no Dragon Slayers on the Eastern Continent, but Luo Jinghong had heard of it. After all, it was ancient magic.
Selene was curious. "Then what was that phoenix-like illusion you used?"
"It's the family heart technique, said to be modeled after observing a fire phoenix's behavior."
On the Eastern Continent, family heart techniques were passed down but still cultivated magic power, just called differently, and leaned more towards weapon use.
The Luo family had a 400-year history, but it was only during the Gun Saint's generation that they rose to prominence with the emperor, becoming one of the most prosperous families on the Eastern Continent.
As they chatted, Aegon, Irene, and the others arrived at the Luo family's main residence.
Irene immediately used her Eye of Investigation to survey the entire residence, loudly announcing their arrival.
This was Aegon's idea to avoid unnecessary conflicts. Killing a few people later wouldn't be pleasant.
A giant eye appeared in the sky, causing Luo Zetao's pupils to contract sharply. An orange magical power beam shot skyward from the center of the residence.
Irene chuckled, squinting her eyes. With a light tap of her deer antler staff on the ground, her crimson magic dyed the sky red.
The orange beam quickly retracted, settling into calmness.
Luo Jinghong's mouth dropped open in astonishment, enough to swallow an egg. She stiffly turned to her father. "Great-grandfather... did he lose?"
Luo Zetao nodded bitterly. "Lost, completely lost..."
Irene soon made a judgment, frowning. "Weaker than George Reizen, much weaker."
When Irene withdrew her magic, Selene waved her sleeve, and the clear sky over Lingdu instantly darkened, a full moon hanging high above.
This wasn't a real moon but an environment magic intrinsic to Selene's dragon magic—'Moon'.
In this environment, Selene's combat abilities would be enhanced.
"How... how is this possible..."
It was clear that the three followed Aegon's lead, and Aegon hadn't shown any magic yet.
At this point, he realized he had invited three monsters back...
Luo Zetao remained silent for a moment. "Three of you... please."
The effect of showing off was evident. Luo Zetao's previously straight back now bent.
Luo Jinghong began to doubt her life. "Are you really not over twenty-five?"
Aegon shook his head. "Fake. Of course, you can choose not to honor the bet."
In the main hall, an elderly lady with white hair but full of vigor sat in the main seat. Seeing Aegon, Irene, and Selene entering, she dared not remain seated, quickly standing up. Several middle-aged men also stood.
It was an interesting scene—a sprightly old lady over a hundred years old.
While Irene and Selene looked around twenty-seven or twenty-eight, they were actually over four hundred years old.
Seeing Aegon leisurely sit beside the main seat, Irene and Selene sat on the same side. The old lady bowed.
"This old woman greets the three of you. How should I address you?"
Selene's eyes gleamed with amusement. "People of the Northern Continent call me the Moon God Dragon."
Irene smiled slightly. "Contractor of Belserion the Sage Dragon, Irene Belserion."
