Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Demon Form

Although Aegon occasionally teased Erza about Kagura, Erza never resented Kagura for it. As both Kagura and Erza came from Rosemary Village, Erza understood that Kagura trained with a deep resentment toward the Dark Magic Cult and with the memory of her brother Simon.

Of course, Erza had the luxury of slacking off a bit. She inherited Irene's talent perfectly, turning Requip Magic into Instant Requip Magic. Along with the armor that Irene crafted for her, Erza stood as the undisputed leader among her peers, Misaki, Kiria, and Kagura.

However, one person could rival her: Mirajane.

Mirajane's Satan Soul was more powerful than anyone imagined. Both Irene and Selene were amazed at how she could channel such a formidable demon. Selene remarked, "I feel like they chose you, rather than you receiving them."

Selene did not believe that someone like Mirajane, who originally lacked magic power, could take in such a powerful demon. Besides the usual Satan Soul takeover, Mirajane had other forms. Through Irene's high-level augmentation technique, she could infuse part of her magic into Mirajane, enabling her to receive the forms of the demons she had seen in the church.

Demon God Agares was undoubtedly Mirajane's strongest form. It was the form of the raven she had vaguely seen. Upon taking over, she grew horns, her black wings sprouted, and she wielded a black spear. During battles, she had a sense akin to hyper intuition—more precisely, superior to it—allowing her to foresee one or two seconds into the future. This ability rendered her almost invincible against opponents of the same or greater level.

Demon God Halphas appeared as a white dove. Upon taking over, Mirajane's wings turned blue, scales appeared on her face and forehead, and she gained unparalleled speed and destructive power.

Demon God Sitri retained her human form and allowed her to use wide-range ice magic.

Demon God Gamigin gave her silver hair that fell naturally and a crown upon takeover, allowing her to control wild, scarlet flames.

However, Mirajane couldn't currently access these forms with her own magic power. Especially for Demon God Agares, the magic required for takeover was enormous, depleting Mirajane's magic power in less than three seconds.

In Aegon's suite, Mirajane gently massaged his temples, deep in thought. Aegon sat in a recliner, but since he was tall, he could rest his head on her if he leaned back slightly. Mirajane didn't notice, as she was lost in thought about what Irene had told her that morning.

"If you want to use the full takeover in battle, you'll need about 1% of my magic power, but you likely won't last long—maybe three minutes?"

Remembering Irene's words, Mirajane murmured softly, "So I don't even have 1% of Lady Irene's magic power…"

Aegon chuckled, "Do you think 1% of her magic is small? Her magic can alter the land of the Fiore Kingdom, which spans over ten million square kilometers, with her World Reconstruction Magic."

Irene had once demonstrated this magic to Aegon and Selene in Elentir as they exchanged their most powerful techniques.

"Huh? You can hear that? I was speaking so softly…"

Mirajane was surprised, as even she could barely hear her own voice.

"Don't underestimate a Dragon Slayer's hearing."

"Alright."

Mirajane knew about Aegon's complete dragon transformation, but since he always appeared human, she mostly saw him as one.

Suddenly, Mirajane recalled something, "Wait, does that mean you can hear what I say in my room?"

"What secrets do you have that I shouldn't hear?"

"Uh… it's a secret."

"A secret?"

Seeing Aegon's curiosity, Mirajane stuck out her tongue and explained, "Just some secrets with Lisanna. I didn't say anything bad about you, I promise."

Aegon laughed, "Don't worry. The room is soundproof, and I'm not into eavesdropping or gossip."

Lisanna didn't have her sister's magical talent and was rather average, but she was cute. Although she seemed a bit mature for her age, she was still just a little girl.

"I can vouch for that."

Selene's voice announced her presence before she appeared on the suite's sofa, holding a partially eaten apple.

"Vouch for what? The soundproofing or the eavesdropping?"

Selene, leaning on the armrest, elegantly crossed her legs, not minding the view from her skirt. She teased him, "With that attitude, I might just send the little girl away. But knowing you, she's probably just for show."

Aegon frowned, "Little girl? Weren't you taking Erza and the others to train at Mount Sannotsu and Mount Habeck?"

Mount Sannotsu and Mount Habeck were adjacent, with Mount Sannotsu's northwest side near the "Blue Pegasus" guild. Most of the monsters in the Forest of the East had been killed by Aegon, so they had to train elsewhere.

"A rather unfortunate girl. Since Irene is with them, I brought her here."

Selene waved her sleeve, revealing a little girl with golden curly hair tied up and wearing a pink dress.

Selene was only teasing Aegon earlier. She didn't mean for Jenny to hear it, nor did she want anything to happen to the young girl, especially after her recent misfortune.

The girl, with a troubled expression, timidly bowed, "Hello, I'm Jenny Realight."

Selene explained her background, "Her village was attacked by a Vulcan from the Snow Mountain. When we arrived, her parents had already perished. I figured she wouldn't be in the mood to travel, so I brought her here first."

In Mount Habeck, Selene and Irene noticed smoke rising from Jenny's village. The village was mostly burned down, and Jenny's parents had hidden her in a cellar. After Selene and Irene killed the Vulcan, they heard Jenny's cries and found her.

Before coming here, Selene had asked for Jenny's opinion. Given that Selene and Irene avenged her parents, she chose to come with them. Initially, she planned to learn magic and join the "Blue Pegasus," the guild closest to her home, but her life had taken an unexpected turn.

With her parents recently deceased, Aegon didn't want to trouble her. He turned to Mirajane and said, "Mirajane, let her rest for a few days before she starts learning magic or anything else."

"Got it."

Selene's gaze shifted between Mirajane and Jeannie, noticing their contrasting hair colors—one gold, one silver—and found it intriguing.

She quickly decided, "Mirajane, you'll be in charge of her. Let her stay in the room next to yours."
