The air felt heavy, the pressure coming from whatever was in that direction was so strong it made their chest hurt, if felt like the weight of the surroundings and doubled.
Akpobor is that you?
"Ha ha ha ha" they heard a joyful laughter.
"I've been walking for how long to this tree but the distance felt like it was getting longer and longer, but now I'm finally here." they all heard the voice coming from that direction, but couldn't see who it was because of the distance and bushes covering him.
Step step step step
Finally, they could see the person walking toward them, he looked a little bit older like he was in his mid-teens, he had hair flowing with the wind some tied at the back with some vines, and his eyes were as blue as the skies.
His face and skin were so smooth that there was no spot of blemish on them, his facial structure looked perfect, his build was magnificent, his muscles looked perfectly built, the abs and the chest all of them showed perfectly.
"Is that you Akpobor?" Another person asked again.
"Yes, it's me. So you guys can't recognize me because my looks changed a little?" Akpobor spoke as he rose his eyebrow with a playful smile.
Efe ran towards him and smacked the back of his head. "How dare you scare us like that," Efe laughed as she smacked his head.
"Migwo" Akpobor bowed his head as he greeted, "sorry, I wasn't able to control my presence it's new to me and I just let it out to drive beast that tried to get closer to me" akpobor replied as he playfully smiled.
His smile was like the sunset, bringing calmness into their hearts.
"So what happened how did you become like this?" she asked.
"You'll not believe it" I replied, I saw a wolf who could talk.
Hearing that both Efe and Okoro became deathly quiet but allowed akpobor to continue is story.
"It said he likes my luck, he was me fighting a boar easily killing it, and saw me survive other dangerous creatures. Then it gave me a quest, he told me if I managed to complete it I would have crossed a threshold.
I didn't want to go a first, but the temptation of crossing one or more thresholds was unholdable, and secondly, it looked like if I didn't accept his quest it would kill me.
He told me how to find the place, and by the first night of the hunt I got there, I couldn't believe how you guys hadn't found that temple till now. It was massive, it had massive amounts of pressure coming out of just it's gate and it had a massive amount of foreign energy in it.
It was hard, but I finally made it to the gate pushing it open, when I entered it felt like I had gone to a different world. Although it was dark outside in there the sun was still shining brightly, the sweet smell of fruits filled the surroundings.
I went around picking and eating the fruits until I steeled myself and got ready for the mission I came there for, I walked towards the door leading to the temple even before opening the door I could hear the hiss of snakes.
I opened the door, and it was a room filled with snakes, I tried fighting my way out but got poisoned, luckily I managed to escape the room but was still poisoned after all.
I thought I had died at that moment, then I woke up in a different place, she called it a garden. She was the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, but she was different from us she had a lighter skin tone, and if I were to compare it with any color I'd say she was white.
That difference didn't stop her from healing me, she told me she was the guardian of the temple, the only reason she saved me was because our tribe was living close to the forest and we were like neighbors.
So she gave me the object the wolf had requested without questions and gave me a special fruit to eat.
When I ate it, I felt like my body was about to explode, all my hair fell out, my pores all opened it felt like I could breathe through them. She told me to perform exercises while I was in that state and then the energy got relieved.
Immediately after I left the temple the wolf appeared next to me and took what she gave me, as it opened the box I saw an emerald heart filled with something like water. It said something and closed the box and left then I started my journey here.
Just from the information Akpobor gave them, Efe and Okoro felt as if their brains were fried. A talking wolf and a mysterious temple hidden in the forest, it wasn't that they didn't believe him, no the y believed him because they have heard tales of talking animals from the tribe chief and have also heard tales of the temple.
"Do you remember where the temple is?" they asked anxiously.
"No I don't, after I left the temple I forgot the location" I replied thinking.
"We quickly have to go to the tribe, and you have to tell the tribe chief what you just told us," Okoro said with his voice quickening.
We are missing just three more people, if they don't come we will leave by sunrise tomorrow.
I walked around the tree, seeing some people I know wounded, some laughing with each other, and some sad.
I walked to them, I saw Ovie, Eruvwu, and Ese all downcast by themselves in one corner.
"What happened?" I asked seeing the downcast look on their faces.
Eruvwu and Ese didn't answer me so I turned to Ovie and asked him again.
What happened???
"Egbo is dead" he replied with a low voice with tears in his eyes.
