Needless to say, the S-Rankers are losing their wits when they see the Giants. Indra is making some holes in his barrier so that they can sense the power of these Giants.
Even if they aren't the types that have high sense to feel magic power, they are still S-Rank Hunters whose sensitivities to magic power are higher than most Hunters in the world.
So they still can feel the pressure from the Giants that keep attacking Indra's barrier. Compared to any monsters they've faced, these Giants' powers are leagues above them.
Even the strongest A-Rank dungeon boss they've fought pales in comparison to each one of these Giants.
Now they understand well why National Level Hunters are needed to clear S-Rank Gates. They don't have confidence to fight these Giants and survive.
All the complaints they had for not being able to participate in the raid battle are gone now. Their envy for Jin Woo who is chosen to join the raid is also gone and they even feel pity now.
They quickly excuse themselves and continue carrying the resources. All of them just want to leave this dungeon quickly before the battle starts.
The National Level Hunters scoff at their nonexistent wits. Even if they know they aren't a match for the Giants, losing their wits just from seeing the Giants is just too much.
Well, at least now they won't need to worry about these S-Rankers disturbing them. They quickly finish transporting the resources out of the dungeon and get ready to start the battle with the Giants.
"Alright, I'll let the Giants out one by one, get ready!"
The raid team has discussed how they'll fight these Giants. They decide to fight the Giants one by one to make the battles much easier.
But for this plan, Indra told them he can only give them basic buffs to save his mana. He has maintained the barrier for a while and now he needs to keep it until all the Giants are killed.
Obviously, he won't run out of mana even if he gives them the best buffs. But he still needs to hide his real power and besides, they won't fail to kill a Giant even if they don't receive any buffs.
Indra gives them basic level buffs as planned and then opens a hole in his barrier. The hole is big, but it's only enough for a Giant. So after a Giant comes out of the hole, Indra closes it again to prevent the other Giants from coming out.
The Giants are surprised, but they quickly ignore it and the one that came out immediately charges at the raid team.
Shiddarth taunts the Giant and tanks its attacks with his magic shield. After he gets the Giant's aggro, the others quickly move to attack the Giant that focuses on attacking Shiddarth's magic shield.
Because of the Giant's size, attacking its vital points is not easy. But they have a good basic strategy to fight Giants. It is to immobilize them by breaking their feet that support their massive bodies.
The melee fighters quickly move to attack the Giant's ankles. Il Hwan and Zhigang cut the Giant's ankles using their swords. But the Giant's thick skin is really tough and they can't cut it easily.
They need to send a few cuts before being able to cut the ankles. The other Hunters are distracting the Giant by attacking different spots while Shiddarth keeps using his taunting skill on the Giant.
After getting its ankles cut, the Giant starts to stagger. Dewi and Jonas then kick the Giant's back knees to make it drop on its knees.
While the Giant falls, Ragnar swings his long sword from below. He creates a big energy blade that flies toward the Giant's torso. The energy blade cuts the Giant's skin and makes blood gushes out of it.
Thomas jumps and punches the Giant's stomach. His punch makes a dent in the Giant's stomach and makes the Giant arches to the front.
Then suddenly, a big fireball hits the Giant's face very strongly, blowing the Giant to the back. The fireball is a combination attack created by Dina, Reed, and Kwasi.
Now the Giant lies on its back with a lot of damage already. Its ankles break, it has a deep cut wound on its torso, and its face is burnt well, but it's still alive.
"Giants sure have great durability. But you are just a sitting duck now. Let's see how long you can hold on."
Thomas grins as he jumps onto the Giant's body and starts delivering powerful punches. The other melee fighters also join in to attack the Giant that can't get up because its ankles have broken.
Only the Mages and Indra stay still on the back while the melee fighters are pummeling the Giant. Meanwhile, the other Giants are watching their brother get killed with furious expressions, but there's nothing they can do because they can't break the barrier.
They finally kill the 1st Giant after a while without spending too much energy. Fighting just 1 Giant at a time with the whole raid team surely makes the battle much easier.
Indra opens a hole for a Giant to come out again after they move the corpse to the back. But the Giants are wary now and none is coming out. High rank monsters are intelligent, after all, so they know they'll get killed easily if they come out one by one.
The Hunters have anticipated this and they have a method to take a Giant out. They use the skill that most of them have as Rulers' vessels, Ruler's Authority. Though they know it as Telekinesis.
They use it together on a Giant and pull it out of the barrier. So even if the Giant is heavy, they can pull it easily because they do it together. The Giant struggles, but it gets pulled out and its comrades can't help it.
Indra quickly closes the barrier and the team is ganging on the Giant once again. It gets killed faster than the 1st Giant because the raid team already has a better understanding than before.
When they are about to pull out the 3rd Giant, they see that all the Giants are holding each other to prevent any one of them from being pulled out of the barrier.
But the Hunters haven't run out of options too. Shiddarth quickly uses his taunting skill on the Giants, making them lose their minds and just rush to attack him.
However, the hole in the barrier is only enough for a Giant to pass through at a time. Then when a Giant passes the hole, Indra closes it to stop the other Giants.
Again, they kill this Giant easily. But now, Jin Woo is joining the fight. This is another hidden scheme that Indra and Jin Woo planned.
They want to show Jin Woo's "real" power in this raid. Of course, real means they'll show that he has the power of a National Level Hunter to the other National Levels.
The purpose is to make him a National Level Hunter which will make it much easier for him to move for their Grand Plan.
The things he can do are limited because of his rank as a normal S-Rank Hunter. Even if his father is a National Level, it is still difficult because there are many things he needs to do personally.
So Indra proposed to make him a National Level Hunter by showing his power in this raid. If the other National Levels recommend him, then getting the rank will be easy.
That's why Indra was using the excuse of carrying their equipment with Jin Woo's spatial storage skill to bring him into the raid.
Another reason is they want to draw the world's attention. If a new National Level Hunter appears, then they will think that more National Level Hunters will appear and it will lift their morale.
The goal is to make the International Hunter Organization to create a test for S-Rank Hunters all over the world to see if they have the power of National Level Hunters.
Indra is the one who proposed this plan to Jin Woo because it will help them find people with great hidden talents much easier.
Theoretically, it's impossible for people who aren't Great Beings' vessels like the Rulers' vessels to have the power of National Level Hunters.
But there will surely be those with potential to be much stronger than normal S-Ranks. Indra wants to find those people through this test and upgrade their power.
S-Ranks who are confident in their power will come to take the test. Then Indra and Jin Woo will try to find the hidden talents among them.
The chance of finding those with talents to be as strong as the Rulers' vessels is low, but it's possible. Dewi is the best example of it.
She isn't a Ruler's vessel, but she became even stronger than some Rulers' Vessels after Indra upgraded her power.
So far, they haven't found anyone like her. But if they can find even 1 more National Level Hunter, their chance in the war against the Monarchs will be higher.
