Upon assuming responsibility for two secondary sectors, Jonas found himself burdened with additional tasks. The demands from these sectors posed a challenge for the Alté Division at this juncture. Consequently, Jonas sought various avenues to alleviate this pressure until stability could be assured, at which point further deliberation could be undertaken.
"Mr. Jonas, do you have any suitable candidates in mind?" Eiffel casually inquired while standing beside a chair.
"If you're suggesting I seek a scapegoat... I believe Searle Bond would be a suitable candidate," Jonas responded with a smile.
Upon hearing this, a hint of suspicion flashed in Eiffel's eyes before she spoke up: "Are you sure he would fall for it again? Remember..."
Remember how badly you deceived him last time? Not only was he inexplicably beaten by Chelsea Cloudy, but the promised cooperation never materialized, leaving both resources and reputation lost. Eiffel doubted whether the other party would fall for such deception again.
"Last time was merely an accident," Jonas waved dismissively, adding, "I trust Mr. Bond's intelligence to discern what constitutes an acceptable loss."
Eiffel couldn't help but feel speechless upon hearing this. Though she didn't believe Jonas could persuade Bond again, she refrained from dissuading him and instead silently stood by, prepared to witness his dazzling performance.
In truth, Miss Eiffel was quite looking forward to witnessing Jonas' downfall.
Sensing the secretary's anticipation, Jonas couldn't help but smile. In front of her, he dialed Skarl Bond's communicator.
After a brief electronic tone, a slightly scornful voice sounded from the other end. "Well, if it isn't Mr. Jonas, what brings you to contact me?"
"As old friends, isn't it normal to communicate?" Jonas replied nonchalantly.
"Friend? You..." Skarl's voice grew momentarily excited, almost about to curse, but halted at the last second. "Jonas, whatever you're up to this time, count me out. You deceitful swindler."
Upon hearing this, Miss Eiffel couldn't help but reveal a gleeful expression, while Jonas merely raised a finger, casting a glance at Eiffel. ——Be patient.
On the other end of the communication, Skarl took a deep breath, composing himself before speaking. "You better scram before I lose my temper, Jonas, or else..."
"Do you know about the recent events at the Weiting Consortium board?" Jonas' voice cut off Skarl's harsh words, successfully piquing his curiosity.
However, upon recalling the previous deceit inflicted upon him, Skarl forcibly suppressed his curiosity and replied, "I'm not interested in those matters."
Ignoring Skarl's words, Jonas smiled and continued, "Following that incident, I gained control over two secondary sectors and established cooperation with the Nason Consortium."
Hearing this, Skarl felt a surge of discontent. He had suffered greatly from that Chelsea's assault, yet you ended up forming a partnership with her?
"Are you here to boast, Jonas Weiting?" Skarl's tone turned unpleasant.
"Of course not," Jonas paused, then continued, "I simply wish to inquire if Mr. Bond would be interested in cooperating with me again."
Another collaboration? Skarl was already experiencing PTSD from that term; every time Jonas mentioned it, nothing good ever came out of it. Subconsciously wanting to refuse, he heard Jonas interjecting, "Regarding the previous incident, I deeply apologize. Hence, this time I approach Mr. Bond with a mindset of compensation. Mr. Bond is free to refuse; I will support any decision you make."
Upon hearing this, Skarl hesitated for a moment before speaking, "Tell me about the terms of cooperation."
Hearing this, a faint smile tugged at Jonas's lips. Meanwhile, seeing the smile on Jonas's face, Eiffel couldn't help but shake her head. This Mr. Skarl seemed to have a short memory...
Enliss Sector.
Time may erase all things, but hatred, at least, would not be erased by time. Even after such a long time had passed, Miss Tianyu still harbored thoughts of revenge against Jonas. Enduring was merely a means to exact a better revenge; she refused to cause more casualties due to her own mistakes or to give up altogether. Just as Jonas had said, those wronged souls had died because of her, so she had to take responsibility for them. Jonas was a formidable enemy, so she had to be fully prepared... Within the Destiny Organization, there was no shortage of malice toward her; even if she stayed in her room every day, the pressure from the outside world remained significant. Perhaps it was because she never went out that rumors within the Destiny Organization continued to circulate endlessly. Perhaps the only way to break this impasse was to deliver a severe blow to the Weiting Consortium next time, dispelling people's suspicions of her.
"Why, still too afraid to even step out of your door?" A sudden voice interrupted, but Tianyu replied without turning her head, "I won't act until I'm fully prepared."
As the shadow emerged from the darkness, a masked woman looked at Tianyu with a hint of possessiveness in her eyes, quickly hidden. "It was your excessive caution that caused you to lose so badly last time."
The woman's tone carried some mockery, and hearing her words, Tianyu's eyes flashed with resentment. The woman had touched a sore spot, but not because she was right...
In fact, if Tianyu had exercised half the caution she now possessed last time, she wouldn't have lost so miserably. Taking a deep breath, Tianyu asked, "So what are you here for? If it's just to taunt me, you've achieved your goal."
"I'm not that shallow," she approached, looking at Tianyu, and said, "I'm here to inform you..."
The girl's figure enlarged in Tianyu's eyes, her voice seeming to merge with those who had already passed away: "Are you ready for revenge, Miss Tianyu?"
