Chapter 5 - 5. Vengeance

Azael leaned back and turned around, his predatory eyes watching Craig run towards the stairs. His lips arched up on one side in sarcasm, and he scoffed before walking out of the place.

Reuel too smoothened his trousers and followed his brother. The inner office was their private space and no one was allowed there, not even their trusted employees.

'Craig, you are just a leech. You do not deserve to breathe the same air around me, let alone enter our room.' Reuel sneered and took one of the only two chairs in the outer room.

"This should be fun." Azael leaned back and crossed his legs, ignoring the pain in his ankle while Reuel chuckled in mirth.

"It will be. Trust me."

Barely had he finished speaking when there was a knock at the door. However, the anxious man on the other side could not enter the room even if they wanted to.

Although they could not hear a word, Azael and Reuel were sure that the man was yelling at the top of his lungs and their smiles widened.

Azael picked up the remote and with a click, the door opened. To the twins' amusement, Craig tumbled over and fell face first. He did not have anything to hold onto and his face smacked the floor hard, eliciting a chuckle from Azael immediately.

"Well, that's one hell of a greeting, I must say." He sassed. "But I am not complaining. You are exactly where you belong."

Craig glared at the man in hatred and jumped to his feet immediately, not caring that his suit was now crumpled. "I am going to kill you."

"I am waiting." Reuel raised his brows and leaned forward with his hands clasped on his knees. "Show us how you will kill us."

Craig narrowed his eyes, his rage and hatred consuming him completely. He was not in his sane mind, and all he could think about was how his lavish life had been destroyed in seconds. And it was two men before him responsible for it.

"Why?" That was all he could manage to say. He was devoid of his gun to take any action. Damn, the club rules and he was in the Sephyr empire where the Sephry twins, Azael and Reuel, were the rulers.

"You should know why," Reuel smirked, his smile resembling nothing less demonic and Craig felt a chill run down his spine. It was at this moment he realized that he had fucked up big time.

"And save your breath. There is no use begging for an apology now." Azael interrupted him before Craig could speak. "Even if you grovel before us, it will be useless."

Craig gritted his teeth and clenched his fists.

"I wonder how your father is doing right now," Reuel muttered all of a sudden. Even though his voice was low, Craig and Azael heard him. "He must be making his final trip to hell."

Reuel raised his head and glanced at his brother, who was staring back at him curiously. Reuel understood how anxious and impatient he was to find out what he had done from his expression alone.

Not wanting to put his brother in any more misery, he picked up the TV remote and turned it on, settling on a news channel.

Surprised by Reuel's actions, Azael watched the news and his eyes widened instantly.

"Oh, my freaking hell!!" He exclaimed and nodded at his brother in appreciation. "That is one hell of an explosive news."

Craig stared at the screen, which was showing the aftermath of an explosion. The place was now in ruins. All they could see was dust, boulders, fire and dead bodies. The empire his father had so painstakingly built from scratch was utterly destroyed, along with his only family, his father. The man too had died in the explosion and Craig discerned at once that it was all a part of the plan.

Consumed by his rage, Craig picked up the pen on the table and rushed toward Azael, who was the closest to him. But before he could get to him, a gunshot resounded in the room and he dropped to his knees immediately.

Reuel was quicker than him and the man now lay bleeding in front of Azael, who just blinked at him innocently while he was anything but that.

"You must know by now," Azael leaned forward and looked at Craig in the eye. "What will happen if you even think of crossing us." He smiled and tapped his cheek.

"This is me." Reuel stood up and walked around to face the man who would soon be accompanying his father to hell. "Avenging my brother. It's not blood for blood."

Azael and Reuel's eyes darkened while their expressions hardened. "It's lives for even a drop of blood."

"It was not at all nice knowing you. Have a horrible but safe trip to hell." Reuel pressed the trigger and the man breathed his last immediately.

"At least my shoes are saved this time." Azael moved away from Craig immediately, ensuring his white sneakers were not stained with blood.

Reuel just rolled his eyes and pulled out his phone before sending a message.

"It was fun. I enjoyed it." Azael commented after making sure that his precious shoes were white and clean.

"I'm glad you did. Otherwise, I would have had to find something else to keep you entertained."

Azael just humphed and entered their office again. "Looks like I will have to return to work soon."

"And why did you have this enlightenment all of a sudden?"

"With Craig and his despicable father gone, there is a lot to handle. And I'm sure we are the prime suspects in everyone's lists."

A rare look of seriousness landed on his face and he leaned against the table as he thought about it.

"You do not have to worry about it. I have taken care of everything."

Azael was just about to sigh in relief when Reuel's next words made him almost throw his brother out of the window.

"Just make sure you return soon and handle all the work you are supposed to do as well as I am supposed to do. I will be going on a vacation soon."
