Chapter 47 - Mission, finish!

They exited the tunnel with the backpack, cleaning off the blood on it. The optional reward was not worth the hassle. 'Killing an entire tribe on our own would be too hard.'

Tracking the tribe down, and ending them all, would be more trouble than it was worth, and the duo was not impatient to get into a fight, there would be more than a few opportunities to fight.

The jellyfish were waiting for them at the exit of the tunnel. "I see that you have succeeded." Kissenn tossed the back, and the jellyfish grabbed it with its tentacles. "Oh, my precious goods…"

"Hm, thanks for getting it for me. I will come back soon with your share of the rewards for saving me. Wait here." The jellyfish ran, and Kissen looked at him as if she should give chase.

Ellianor shook his head, as the main reason why he accepted the quest popped on his screen.

Ellianor raised his eyebrows, and a new screen appeared before him.

[PERSONAL INFORMATION

MYSTERY BOX]

A convenient screen. Ellianor clicked on the shop.

[SUPER SHOP (LOCKED)

PROMOTION SHOP

GENERAL SHOP]

There were just two shops open so the choice was a no-brainer. Ellianor clicked on the Promotion Shop, to see if he could buy something.

[DEAL BREAKER (HAMMER, TWO HANDED, -50% PRICE, 10000 CREDITS, R RARITY)

SWANFLIGHT (VEHICLE, BIKE, -23% 24312 CREDITS)

…]

All sales were far, far out of his scope. Five hundred credits were nothing. Ellianoir kept scrolling down, searching for anything of value that could be brought with his current savings.

There was nothing special… he should stop, but he kept scrolling, determined to go down to the last option in the list before giving up on buying something. There should be something he could buy.

[BASIC PROWESS KIT (KNIGHT EXCLUSIVE, -30%, 470 CREDITS)]

He was almost on the edge of his budget. In consideration that he had no Prowess, Ellianor decided to buy it.

The five hundred credits became thirty, as a screen jumped before him.

[TRANSACTION COMPLETE! REWARDING THREE BASIC PROWESS! THANK YOU FOR BUYING ON YOUR STORE]

The five prowess showed up shortly after the screen.

[HEAVIER ATTACK: YOU MAY CHARGE YOUR MOVEMENT FOR MORE STAMINA USAGE, BUT MORE POWER AT THE COST OF TAKING A CHARGING TIME, AND BEING SLOWER

ON-ASSAULT: YOU CAN RUSH AN ENEMY AND DRAG THEIR BODY IF YOU HAVE THE STRENGTH TO. YOU CAN DRAG ITS BODY WHILE YOU FIGHT, CONSTANTLY SLASHING IT OR USING IT AS A MEAT SHIELD. GREAT STAMINA USAGE.

BLOCK-STANCE: YOU MAY ENTER A BLOCK-STANCE AND REDUCE DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR BODY AT THE COST OF YOUR STAMINA. IT DOES NOT NULLIFY PAIN. ONLY WORKS AGAINST CLOSE-QUARTERS ATTACKS]

Two attacks, and one defense. 'Heavier Attack may work against heavy and slower enemies. On-assault…' That one prowess caught his eye.

With something like that, he could hop on an enemy and drag it across the battlefield and tear its body apart, before jumping on another, and another… as long as he had the stamina to do all of that.

For now, the prowess was not that useful, he lacked the speed to use it, but Ellianor saw the potential of that prowess, enough to warrant future investments in speed and dex.

'Well, at least I got some credits.' Maybe roaming around helping people with their stuff, if it was not that problematic, for small quantities of EXP and credits was a good idea.

The jellish returned, handling some cards to them on its tentacles. "Thank you for your help. I would have not survived the rundown with the gragas if it was not for you." kissenn picked up the cards.

Checking them, unsure of how to use the new currency on her hands. 'I guess we can just ask Aur for instructions on how to use it.' She should know how to use it.

"You are welcome. Well, what is the deal with the gragas? I saw them eat their own…" It was not an unheard behavior in birds, but they looked like bird people.

Ellianor wanted to believe more in their "people" part than their bird one. "Oh, they do not let flesh go to waste, even if it is their own. They will eat any flesh as long as it is edible to them."

Disgusting, but practical. Kissen, tired of playing with the cards threw them to Ellianor, who immediately stored the currency in his inventory.

"That behavior is not unheard of on most species. Survival makes that with people." The jellyfish chirped, returning to the tunnel before Ellianor stepped between it and the tunnel.

"You almost died there, you want to go back?" The jellyfish had a death wish? The sentient jellyfish able to speak boped up and down.

"Of course not, but I need to go home, and I have no property within this upper village, so I have no choice. I thank you for your help, but I need to go now."

With a click of his tongue, the black-haired man stepped aside, leaving the jellyfish free to return to where it needed to go. "Before you go, how do you speak our language so well?"

Questioned Kissen before the alien could return to the tunnel, a certain childish curiosity in her eyes. "Oh, my species used to deal with humans largely, so we picked up some of your languages."

Answering one last question, the alien vanished within the tunnels. It was an… interesting experience, to say the least, to help an alien.

"Wow. Well, I think that was not what Aur meant by mingling with the locals, but I guess it worked out somehow. We have many hours until "sundown". What do you want to do?"

The black-haired woman chirped. They had too much time on their hands, and the arrows sending them towards the Terminal Slayers were up. "Let's try finding those terminal slayers."

It was worth a shot.
