The monsters were approaching, they were ready to attack at any second. Kissenn was right that they lacked the time to think or ponder about how her power worked if it was her power.
Testament giggled in eager wait for the monsters.
'Tsc, my shoulder is not healed.'
While the pain had stopped, and so did the bleeding, Ellianor could see that his arm was not operating at full capacity.
'Those things are deadly. There is that too.'
A short glance to his side revealed a bloody gash, while it was not as bad as the one in his shoulder, it was a problem.
'My pain tolerance must be high.' It was the only way for someone to stand after such damage done to his body.
Normal people would not endure a blown shoulder, or a bleeding rib or two. While his left arm hadn't regained its strength, he could return to use a two-hand grip over Testament.
One of the monsters tried to repeat what its brethren did, but it was received with a shower of thrusts by Kissenn, as Ellianor helped with a vertical slash against its torso.
The beast was cut in two and its body poked many roles across.
The stone blade grew redder as the monsters decided to advance. Ellianor and Kissenn stood side by side, their backs against each other.
It was on instinct rather than any thought strategy.
They knew that advancing against so many monsters was suicidal, so their minds went instinctively for the best strategy at hand, fight back to back and stand their ground.
The monsters advanced relentlessly, those that could attack from afar, attacked, and those that couldn't, advanced in a mess of limbs and natural weapons.
Ellianor was the first to react, she used her advanced two weapons to counterattack and retaliate, even as monsters' claws and blades made cuts and slash across her arms, torso, and legs.
Ellianor did the same with wide slashes, his strength placed in the momentum of his body and arms as he slashed across monsters, uncaring of the damage done to his body.
They continued to advance, a slash cut some of Kissenn's hair, while another made a deep cut across her cheek, and Ellianor gained more wounds on his arms and muscles as the monsters attacked there in an attempt to neutralize his swings.
Without any option, or choice, the duo pushed on regardless of their wounds, the strange glow from Kissenn's hands bled from her sword and onto their bodies, slowly relieving some of their wounds as she killed those monsters, and Testament got its pound of blood.
MORE, JUST A LITTLE MORE…
The blade begged Auriel gritted his teeth as the whip arm of a mutant slashed him across the cheeks, blood poured from the wound relentlessly, as Testament was enveloped in blood.
Its stone was covered by vital fluid. Ellianor didn't know what possessed the blade, or from where the blood came, only that it was feeding on the deaths, and damage that they wrought and bled.
The blade expanded, its form more akin to a large sharpened rib made of blood.
SWING ME!
Ellianor didn't need to be told twice by the blood-drunk blade, he swung its enlarged form against the orge, and in one fell sweep, a good chunk of them were sliced apart, their bodies became cinders absorbed by the blade as its forms returned to one of stone.
The voice had also died as soon as it blood-crazy did, and there was only half of the horde to take care of.
Ellianor broke off from their back-to-back position, his blade swung against one of the monsters, its head bisected as the blade started to feed once more.
Kissenn moved by the other side as they started a pinch strategy, attacking the creatures from two sides at once.
They were left stunned by the show of the blood-sharpened rib, more than enough time for the duo to thin their number down to a manageable level as they continued to slash and kill those monsters with relentless fervor, even as their own body bled.
"HEL—" A mutated person tried to scream, but Testament pierced its skull, and Ellianor took care of the other mutants, as well as the few straggler monsters, Ellianor surged in to take care of the back side, or any runaway creature that thought they could escape.
Soon, their numbers have been completely wiped. Ellianor held his knees, Testament stuck on the ground.
Kissenn wiped the blood off her face and body since the monster's bodies were turned into ash by the presence, or power, of the Testament.
"Did your blade always have the power to kill those things permanently?" Questioned Kissenn, as Ellianor shrugged some ash off his body, alongside the blood that was mingled with it.
"Not that I know. It didn't work like that until a few moments ago. I think that it feeds on blood and death." Even after dealing with the corpses, and once with Simony, it didn't deal permanent damage to the corrupted.
'Did the death of that abomination trigger it?'
If it fed on death and blood, it would require greater quantities to work, or at least, some sort of intense fuel to fully awaken.
A glance at the stone blade revealed that its veins were small, just like how he first picked it up.
"Guess we both have secrets that we don't know about." Kissen laughed, using the opportunity for a well-timed jest.
Ellianor giggled at it, his breath still steaming hot and intense because of the adrenaline rush from the battle.
It was not what he thought he would be doing for the night. "So you have no idea about that pink energy you had?" Kissenn shook her head, she hadn't a single clue about it.
"I hit those things, they were hurt, and it came to me. I have no idea about how it works." They were both in the dark about how their powers worked, the only basis they had was guesswork.
"Let's get to the damned amphitheater before something worse happens."
