"Are you trying to grow wings?" Poppy asked after transforming to hold me in his hands.
"Poppy," I called, and he hummed in response. "I'm done with ladies," I said. "I don't get along well with them," I continued.
"That's fine, since you have me," he replied, burying his head in my neck. "This is the seventh time," he said. Seventh time that what? "This is the seventh time I've been scared, and it's all because of you. All seven times were because of you," he said.
"Let me guess, number one was the day we met, right?" I asked, hoping I could lighten the mood, but he didn't respond. He stood me up but didn't let go. "I'm sorry for scaring you," I said, caressing his head.
"Why did you go with her?" he asked, still holding on.
"I didn't. I don't even remember moving," I said with a sigh.
