A maid brought tea for us as we sat in the garden. She looked at Lily, then at me. I glared at her, and she flinched before running off. I poured tea for myself and then for Lily. She looked at the cup and then back at her hand.
"If anyone should be worried about being poisoned, it should be me," I said. She looked at me, tears rolling down her face. She opened her mouth to speak but didn't say a word. She took the cup, took a sip, and then set it down.
"What did Jupiter say to you?" I asked. She looked up, surprised. "I want to know what she said that made you want to kill me," I said.
"She…" Lily croaked.
"You can tell me. I might not get angry," I said.
"She…"
"Knowing Jupiter, she'd definitely twist words to manipulate you, which means you must have harbored some kind of hostility toward me before then," I said, and she flinched. I stood up and walked to the rose flowers by the corner.
