I walked around the dark building with only a candlelight. This is how every horror story starts, with one foolish decision. I shouldn't have come alone; every single thing looked like a creature was watching me. I walked outside to the bright moonlight, finding solace in the garden as I listened for any sound at all.
"Pretty," I said to myself as I stared at the moonlight on the flowers. How come I've never been outside here at night?
I sat there for a while, breathing in the fresh air I had been craving. How did Poppy know I needed this? I stared at the stars for a while before standing up to reach for my candle, but it was out. I gulped and carried it as I made my way back inside the building. The moonlight lit the halls, but it wasn't as bright as it was outside.
