As Sylphiette walked out of the grand duke's office, she thought of going home but changed her mind and did something unexpected instead. She knocked on a door and walked in without waiting for a response.
"I didn't say you could come in," Carmel said, looking at her with a hate-filled glare.
"Let me speak before you get murderous on me," Sylphiette said, taking her seat. Carmel scoffed and relaxed, leaning back against the head of her bed.
"A lot has happened recently that made me reflect on some of the decisions I made and the consequences of my actions," Sylphiette said, crossing her legs.
"I didn't know you had it in you to reflect. Should I clap for you?" Carmel said with a sarcastic tone.
"Dan is on his way to apologize to little Miss Rose now," Sylphiette informed Carmel. Carmel couldn't hold back the smile that grew on her face, but it didn't reach her eyes.
