Chapter 67 - The modern world

Darkness. That was all there was in the endless void. It was completely dark and I couldn't feel anything. Where am I? I felt empty, it was a blissful feeling, and I didn't want it to end, but like most of my wishes, it wasn't granted. A bright light disturbed my peace.

When I opened my eyes, there was a magic circle in front of me, attached to a rectangular wall. I touched it and the middle opened like a door. If I go in there, will it all be over? Will I be free? Do I want to go?

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before walking through the gate. There was no point in hesitating now that I'd come this far. It was bright again, but it suddenly subsided, and I was left in the halls of a hospital. Am I back? I looked around in awe, unsure of how to feel. I saw a nurse and approached her to ask the date, but she didn't respond—she just kept walking. I walked around trying to talk to people, but none of them could see me. Am I dead?
