They spoke like I wasn't even there which had me fuming in anger.
I was taken aback by such words. What stupid words were these?
"Mother, what are you…"
But I could not finish my statement as she stood up and slapped me across the cheek which had me reeling backwards.
I had not expected that from her.
"What did I do?!" I yelled, holding my cheek. "Why would you hit me?"
"You stupid goat! You show up and disrespect our guest, then you don't stop there, you also question my actions? Your rudeness almost cost us everything. Diana here is not just a guest but family. How did I give birth to such disappointment."
I was confused at what she was talking about.
"Mum, I don't know what you're talking about," I sighed. She rolled her eyes as she pointed to Diana to stand up and narrate what I had done.
"I'll repeat everything that happened," Diana said to her feet as my father walked in with his arms folded in anger. He was fuming. "I was with Ron in the meeting room with some investors about to sign a contract when he entered and disrupted the meeting we were having with some investors, thereby costing the company billions."
"Diana!" I yelled in shock but I couldn't talk because my father cleared his throat as a warning for me to speak again and feel his wrath. I was not in the mood to fight and my mothers smack still hurt my cheek so I kept quiet.
Diana went on with her lies as I stood before her and watched as she narrated and explained events which never happened.
Where I lost it was when she said I had shoved the investors out and they vowed to not come back.
"Oh you are such a dirty liar and a bitch!" I yelled. I looked at my approaching father. "You know, instead of attacking me, you should ask her the credibility of her story."
He stopped and looked at Diana who smiled at me before pointing to Ron who nodded with shocking words.
"It's true," the man said as I gasped. I was shocked beyond words.
"Ron? Are you going to lie against me?" I expected my brother to at least fight for me, but he looked straight into our parents eyes and said the most devastating words to them.
"Diana has explained everything just as it should be explained. She tells nothing but the truth."
I fell onto a couch in exhaustion, watching my parents insult me and curse me. I was done. How could I come back from this?
I could not even tell my own side of the story as they wouldn't allow me to talk. All they wanted was for me to apologize for my actions which I did begrudgingly.
"Now that I have apologized, can I explain myself?" I leaned forward, ready to expose the frauds but they still wouldn't hear it.
"Kane," my father started with a sigh. "You have brought upon this family dishonor and disgrace. I can only tell you that this family does not want such disgrace and you have single handedly embarrassed us without even trying that hard."
"Dad, I…"
"Silence!" he yelled, cutting me from saying anything. "Don't you talk when I am talking."
I could see Ron smiling at me which had me fuming. I could not say what he had done because no one would listen to me.
He sat there, his eyes not feeling the slightest concern for what was going on. He was heartless.
"Now like I was saying," continued my father, the room becoming silent. "Due to the dishonor you brought to the family, I will have no choice but to disown you and cut you off from the family funds and the family will."
"Dad!"
"All properties with you as the heir will be shifted to your brother. I will not have anything to do with anyone who hurts family and you have hurt your wife and your brother. Especially after you hurt Diana, who do you think you are? You are even powerless. A disgrace. I can't imagine having you as my son."
"But dad…"
"The gods opened that portal to give us powers and you didn't even have any. You might as well be someone else's son. Even your sister we don't talk about is doing great things out there as one of the strongest hunters out there and you're here being a disgrace."
I pleaded but my words fell on deaf ears. He was done talking as he pointed to the door.
In anger, I stormed out of the house, plopping into the car to drive home.
I would wait there until Diana was back so we would talk about her actions, however, when I drove into the compound, I found my bags and luggage outside the building.
If I had to recount my embarrassing moments, this would be at the top.
This was something I didn't know would be up to this level.
I parked into the garage, getting out to see how scratched the bags were. They had clearly been thrown out with brute force.
She didn't care about me anymore.
I went to the bags to see the damage was more than I had thought. What would make them throw my things outside like that?
I entered the house to see a maid cleaning out my pictures that had been broken.
"I see you're still here," said a familiar voice behind me.
I turned to see Ron and Diana looking at me through mocking eyes and I knew I was in for a ride. From how fast they had arrived, she had teleported them back home. She had that ability to do that.
"You did all of this?" I asked, pointing to the pictures shattered around the room.
"I did more than that. You'll need to understand that you aren't needed any longer," said my brother as I frowned.
