Kaito's eyes narrowed as he emerged from the corridor. "Well, Yukiko drained herself."
Ryujin lounged on the couch, legs crossed, his gaze fixed on Kaito. "Akari's not here."
"She mentioned a meeting with the higher-ups."
Kaito's strides quickened as he approached the table. "The higher-up meeting?"
He dropped into a seat, his eyes locked intently on Ryujin.
"Huh?..."
Meanwhile,
Akari stood in her uniform in the dimly lit room.
"So we're having this meeting again, huh?" she said.
Her gaze shifted to the right, where Kaelos lounged in the corner, his leather jacket creaking as he leaned back.
"Huh, you guys..." he said, teasingly smirking.
"Really? That's the best you can say?"
Akari's expression twisted in disgust. "Shut up, you idiot!", her hands clenched into fists.
Kaelos' smile only grew wider.
"Hey, don't be like that... hehe..." he said.
"Tch!" she exclaimed, her breath quickening.
"Quiet, Kaelos..."Axel said softly. his eyes never leaving the novel in his hand.
He flicked open the page, the sound of rustling paper filling the silence.
"We don't have time for all of this."
"Why don't we try to get along?" Botan said with a smile radiating like a sunbeam, her voice dripping with sweetness.
She darted behind Akari, her hands grasping for her shoulders like a gentle breeze,
"Please, calm down... please," she whispered into Akari's ear.
Akari sighed her chest rising and falling slowly, her eyes drifting away from Kaelos.
"How was this year's exorcists?" Akari asked, her eyes fixed on Kaelos.
Kaelos walked to the wall on the right, "The least I have is a Grade C+, so yes, they're good," he said, his eyes gleaming with a hint of arrogance.
"Good can get them killed... remember that," she said, her voice low and her gaze remained sharp.
Kaelos' smile only grew wider. "Yes, yes, such a pushover..." he teased.
"She's right, Specs are becoming more vicious lately," Axel said calmly, his eyes fixed on the novel in his hand, his finger tracing the lines of text.
"If we don't prepare them properly, they'll be slaughtered," he said, his voice low as he lifted his gaze toward Kaelos.
"We wouldn't want another incident like that to happen again now do we?"
Kaelos' smile faltered. "No, we wouldn't, now would we?" he echoed.
Botan jumped into the air her breasts bouncing with each movement.
"Eh, I think my squad is coming along okay, but I'll train them to become even better!" she exclaimed, her voice like a melody that filled the room.
She jumped up again, her breasts bounced in tandem Akari sighed and turned to Axel, who remained engrossed in his novel.
"My squad is great, no need to worry..." he said.
Akari raised an eyebrow. "Oh okay... " she replied.
"But I have a question for you... " He slammed his novel shut. "Your squad... " He paused.
"You could have chosen more capable people. Why did you choose those five?"
Akari's eyes narrowed.
"Two of them just awakened their Climax not long ago, why...?" she trailed off.
Kaelos snorted. "I can't believe she picked the weakest of the entire organization. And she's lecturing us about ours?" He sneered, his eyes gleaming with mockery.
"Pathetic!"
Akari didn't say a word, her gaze fixed on the ground.
Kaelos continued. "Maybe we should strip her of her rank. "
"Or worse, we should take those two and put them through a more rigorous training."
"It'd be nice to throw them around..."
The entire room began to shake, the atmosphere becoming extremely heavy.
Akari's body began to glow with a golden light.
"If you dare lay one finger on any of my team members..." she said, her voice cold and deadly.
"I won't wait until he comes back. I'll kill you myself."
Her gaze shifted to Kaelos, giving him a dead stare.
Kaelos smiled. "Bring it!"
Akari's body glowed brighter.
Kaelos' body began to glow green. The two of them glared at each other.
"Hey!" Axel said. "Stop it, or else."
Axel's body began to glow purple.
Botan stood between them, her eyes wide with panic.
"Stop it, please! You're going to destroy the room!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling.
Akari and Kaelos paused, their gazes still locked in a fierce stare. Then, slowly, they backed down, their auras fading like a storm subsiding.
"Fine," Akari said, her voice still cold.
"Oh, and Kaelos... One of those two you just said would wipe your entire squad." She smirked.
"It won't even be a hassle for him."
"Tch!" Kaelos exclaimed.
Botan sighed in relief, "Let's just calm down and talk this out, okay?" she said.
"Oh, and it's filled with Specs now," Botan added, her expression serious.
Axel's eyes narrowed, his gaze intense. "You mean... Kyoto is infested with Specs?" he asked, his voice low.
Botan nodded. "Yes... Kyoto is filled with Specs."
"They're infesting every corner, eating anyone in sight."
Kaelos' eyes widened "We might have to lead the whole squad into the city soon," he said.
Akari walked towards the door. "We should begin preparations shortly," Axel said, his eyes still fixed on Botan.
"Good! I think this meeting is over then," Akari said with a smile, her eyes gleaming with a hint of mischief
Botan's eyes widened. "Huh? But we're discussing something serious right now!" she exclaimed.
Akari's smile grew wider. "I'm sure you guys can handle it, right?!" she said.
"Oh and if anyone follows me..."
Her body glowed with a golden light, her eyes flashing with a deathly stare. "I dare you..." she said, her voice low.
Then, she stopped glowing and walked out of the room, waving goodbye with her other hand. "See ya!" she said, her voice cheerful.
Akari sighed "Now..." she stared at the moon, "Let's get going now"
Botan let out a sigh. "Well, that was fun," she said.
Axel's eyes narrowed, his gaze still fixed on the door. "We need to be prepared for anything," he said, his voice low.
Kaelos nodded. "Let's squash some Specs."
