"Finally, we've reached our beloved Aegis," Remi declared, his voice filled with joy.
Arlo grumbled in response, " Shut up, idiot."
After what felt like an eternity, Arlo and Remi had made it back to the Aegis district. For Remi, it had only been a week, but for Arlo, six long months had passed since he last laid eyes on Aegis.
"I can't wait to feel my baby's kicks," Remi said, his excitement palpable. He was eager to reunite with his wife and feel the stirrings of their unborn child.
For Arlo, however, returning to Aegis felt like descending into a personal hell. He kept his gaze firmly on the ground, avoiding the curious looks of passersby. Despite being a native of this place, he had no desire to be recognized as the son of Julian and Adriana Templeton.
"Hey, idiot, look up," Remi suddenly instructed. Arlo obliged, lifting his gaze only to find...
