"HUH!", this prompt jolted Arlo back to reality.
"Hold on, Tutorial levels! Are you telling me these dungeons were just tutorials? This isn't a tutorial, it's a nightmare. How can this dungeon be so challenging at the tutorial level?" Arlo began to question his sanity.
"CAWWW!" "PECK!"
The Ash bird pecked at Arlo's head, sensing his despair.
"Owwww…" Arlo winced as his head throbbed from Ash bird's peck. He looked up to see
"CAWWW!"
"Indeed, Yoshi is correct, feeling depressed over everything doesn't change the situation," Sven consoled.
Grateful for Sven's comforting words, Arlo rose to his feet, resolved to exit the dungeon. But first, he went to retrieve the sword he had discarded earlier. Arlo approached and picked it up.
"CRUMBLE!"
The blade of the sword disintegrated into dust.
"HUH… What on earth…" Arlo was baffled and couldn't comprehend why it happened.
"HA… HA…" "CAWWW!"
Sven and Ash bird chuckled at Arlo's confusion. Arlo retorted, "What's so funny?"
"Nothing at all. Just reminiscing about some past events," Sven responded, glancing at Ash Bird, then mimicking, "HUH... What the…"
As Sven roared with laughter, mimicking Arlo's reaction to his sword turning into dust, Arlo glared at them both.
The hilt of the sword suddenly radiated a yellow glow, and the hilt transformed into fragments of yellow light, taking the form of a man. It whispered,
"Please protect my father whom I failed to safeguard," as it slowly ascended towards the clouds and vanished.
A prompt appeared:
[Ulysses Wrath]
[Inscription: Ulysses Son Ian was slain by Ulysses' adversaries. Subsequently, he forged this sword, imbuing it with all the memories of his son. This sword embodies Ulysses' fiery vengeance towards his enemy.
Ian Ulysses is blinded by rage; he is unable to perceive anything, but he can sniff out the target and will persist in his attack until the target is annihilated.
Ulysses' memory ensnared and cursed Ian within the sword. Finally, Ian found peace upon seeing his mother.]
[Ian Gift: Red Cloth]
[Side Quest: Red Cloth]
[Inscription: Ian's mother's handkerchief. Ian's wife bestowed this upon Ian on her deathbed, to carry on her will. Ian wishes for you to deliver this to his father, to carry on the will of them both.]
[Reward: Ian's Blacksmith Skill]
[Ian's mother Hena's Sword]
As soon as Arlo saw that, Ulysses' face flashed in his mind, and he remembered Ulysses' overwhelming sorrow and his lost will, feeling isolated even though there were people standing beside him. Arlo was deeply contemplating his next move after leaving this dungeon.
Suddenly, a prompt appeared,
[Exit the dungeon or not]
[1. Yes 2. No]
Arlo selected 'No', which left Sven bewildered. "What are you doing, kid?"
Arlo responded, "I don't want to lose my loved ones like Ulysses did and wait for death for the rest of my life. I need to be strong enough to protect them. I need to be someone they no longer see as a burden but can rely on."
Sven retorted, "Are you kidding? You don't want to exit the dungeon for this stupid reason."
Arlo had completely forgotten his fear of Sven after these exchanges. Arlo smiled and said, "If you answer my question, then we will leave this dungeon."
"Spit it out," Sven urged.
"I remember when Ash bird was a Crystal Egg, you wanted to kill him. But as soon as you saw Ash bird was injured from your attack, you went and tended to him. Why? Isn't he your enemy?" Arlo questioned.
"Oh… That. The answer is simple; we are friends. I despise Yoshi, and he despises me. We always want to compete against each other and come out on top. We are more like rivals, that's all," Sven replied.
"What about when you were crying about how he is the reason you were trapped here before?" Arlo asked, voicing various doubts.
"First of all, I didn't lament about it," Sven reacted.
"CAWWW!" "CAWWW!"
"Shut up. I didn't cry; I was furious at the time," Sven continued.
"Well, to cut a long story short, I came to the human world like Yoshi, got betrayed by humans, and mistakenly, I killed all of them and got sealed because of that. Then, I was stuck here for 10,000 years. Now you understand; let's leave."
"Teach me how to fight," Arlo requested.
"What? No. That's not what we agreed upon," Sven rejected Arlo.
Arlo bowed before Sven and pleaded once again, "Please teach me how to protect my people."
"CAWWW!"
Sven grumbled, "But I don't want to." As he complained and walked towards the edge of the cloud.
"Follow me, kid, before I change my mind."
As Sven decided to train Arlo, but is this enough to face the adversary he is going to face in the future.
