Chapter 6 - crazy stone

The four of them left the dormitory and the school directly. Considering Adam's financial situation, the three brothers didn't suggest going to those big hotels but walked to a nearby place, a place they often frequented.

They stayed in the shop the whole afternoon until evening, drinking until everyone was completely drunk, before returning to the dormitory.

Meanwhile, angry roars kept coming from a VIP ward.

"Ah! I'll kill him! Kill him! Dad! You have to avenge me!" Ryan roared ferociously.

"Don't worry, I'll handle this. You just focus on recovering in the hospital these few days," Ryan's father, Robert, said, his eyes flashing with a murderous glint.

Robert walked out of the ward and said to the subordinate guarding the door, "Claire, go to Hua Xia University and find a student named Adam. Bring him to me."

"Yes, Master!" Claire said, then turned and left.

...

"Ugh! My head hurts so much, looks like I must've had a terrible hangover yesterday." With the sun high up, Adam sat up from his bed, holding his head, and said with exhaustion.

"I wonder if psychic power can cure a hangover." Adam curiously said. He controlled his psychic power to circulate in his head, feeling a cool sensation passing through, instantly refreshing his mind.

"Heh... I didn't expect psychic power to have a hangover-curing effect. Looks like I'll become a god of alcohol from now on!" Adam said proudly.

He looked around the other beds and noticed that there was no one else.

"These guys, didn't even bother waking me up. It's already late for class, but since I'm already late, might as well skip it. I'll go check out the Jade Street instead, there should be places for jade gambling." Adam said.

...

With the increasing number of shops, the reputation of Jade Street grew.

After leaving the school, Adam first bought a new phone and then took a taxi to Jade Street. He got off the taxi, paid the fare, and walked towards the market.

The sides of the market were mostly filled with various stalls and tents, looking like hundreds of them. However, most of these were small vendors with nothing valuable, and most of the antiques were probably fake.

Adam bypassed these vendors and headed towards a shop named "Jade Pavilion." He had inquired beforehand, and Jade Pavilion was one of the well-established shops here, and one of the few large ones.

"Sir, may I help you with something?" As soon as Adam entered the Jade Pavilion, a waiter greeted him politely.

"Could you take me to see the jade gambling area?" Adam asked.

"Of course, sir, this way, please," the waiter replied.

Jade gambling, also known as betting on stones, involves assessing the quality of jade hidden within a piece of raw stone. When jade is mined, it is usually covered by a layer of weathered skin, making it impossible to determine its quality until it's cut open.

There's a saying, 'A cut can make you rich or poor, or leave you with mere rags,' which perfectly describes the unpredictability of jade gambling.

Following the waiter into the jade gambling hall, Adam saw a group of people gathered around a stone being cut open. He asked the waiter to leave and squeezed into the crowd to observe.

"Ah! It's ruined, ruined! I didn't expect David to make a mistake this time," someone in the crowd suddenly exclaimed.

Adam quickly made his way to the front and saw an elderly man with a robust physique and a kind face, tinged with a hint of authority, standing next to the stone-cutting table, looking regretful. This must be the David they were talking about.

Several pieces of the original stone had been cut into smaller pieces and scattered on the table, but there was no trace of jade. The waiter was about to clean up these discarded stones. Out of curiosity, Adam scanned with his psychic power and suddenly his eyes lit up. He spotted a piece of jade about the size of a baby's fist hidden within one of the discarded stones. Though he couldn't discern the quality of the jade, its translucent appearance indicated it would fetch a hefty price.

"Wait a minute, do you sell these discarded stones?" Adam approached and asked the waiter.

"Well..." The waiter hesitated and glanced towards David.

"Young man, are you also knowledgeable about jade gambling?" David asked.

"Heh... It's my first time gambling on jade. Just trying my luck. Perhaps I might be able to find jade in these discarded stones," Adam replied.

"Heh... Since you're interested, I'll give you these discarded stones," David said.

"No need for that, you better sell them to me. Otherwise, if I do find jade in them, it might be complicated later," Adam said. He was confident he would find jade, and he didn't want any potential disputes later on.

"Haha... Since you put it that way, I'll sell them to you. I spent 210,000 on this original stone. How about you give me an extra 10,000?" David laughed and said, giving Adam a deep look, as if trying to read something from him.

Hearing this, Adam couldn't help but sigh inwardly. Indeed, gambling on stones was not something an ordinary person could afford. Just casually spending over two hundred thousand was quite a sum. If he hadn't won tens of thousands of dollars yesterday, he wouldn't even be able to afford a piece of discarded stone.

"Alright, then thanks to David," Adam said, handing the money to David. David took the money and handed it to someone behind him, showing no concern about the extra ten thousand.

"Now these discarded stones are yours. I hope you have good luck," David said, stepping aside and smiling at Adam.

"Thank you for your kind words," Adam replied.

"I'll take this piece. Can you help me cut it open?" Adam pointed to the piece with jade and asked the staff.

"Sure!" The staff member said, preparing to make the cut.

"Wait!" Adam hurriedly called out. If the cut were made, the jade might be ruined. He was counting on this piece to sell for money!

"Master, can you please cut it slowly?" Adam requested.

"Alright," the staff member agreed reluctantly. But soon, his expression changed as a halo of light emanated from the discarded stone.

"Incredible! I can't believe there's really jade, and it's of excellent quality!" the staff member exclaimed in astonishment.

David, who was standing aside, also looked surprised, casting a thoughtful glance at Adam.

"Look! It's going up! It's actually going up!" someone in the crowd shouted.

"Oh my god! It's a big rise! Glass type! Absolutely glass type! This kid is really lucky!" another person exclaimed.

"Hey kid, I'll offer a hundred thousand, sell this jade to me!" a man shouted. "Hey kid, I'll offer a hundred and fifty thousand! Sell it to me!" a middle-aged man followed.

"Everyone, please wait a moment. After the jade is cut open, I'll auction it off. I hope everyone can understand," Adam said with a smile.

The crowd nodded slightly, understanding his intentions.

Before long, a piece of jade the size of a baby's fist was successfully cut open.

"Hey kid! I'll offer four hundred thousand!" someone shouted eagerly.

"I'll offer five hundred thousand!" another person followed.

"Fifty-five thousand!"

"Six hundred thousand!"

...

The sound of bidding echoed in the crowd, and the atmosphere grew increasingly enthusiastic, while Adam felt excited inside.

"Haha, kid, you're quite talented," David complimented, walking over.
