"I sure hope so... Because I haven't fought with him on a proper mission before. I understand that Teemo dwarves me in terms of size but I've beaten Felidaes into a pulp before when I got serious..."
"So you're telling me for the past three fights, we could've won?" asked the slightly annoyed Dragoon.
"No... I stand no chance against the Mother Of Webs by using only Ifrit's Skillset or my normal attacks. But during the first fight, I knew that Teemo wanted to test you so I didn't use too much effort. As for the Grim Reaper... It's self-explanatory."
Layla sighed and hopped off the bed.
"I agree with Sander; I don't think Teemo would be the type to climb the ranks using those kinds of methods instead of hard work..."
"He might've some boosts here and there but it is still questionable..." reasoned the Loplin.
"Well, I'm feeling a bit hungry... I haven't had much yesterday so I'll cook up some breakfast for all of us. Sander, are you helping?" asked the Dragoon as she went towards the Ankou.
"I never knew that the Grim Reaper can cook..."' noted the bunny, confused.
"I've been around for so long, I would surely have to pick up some cooking skills on my journeys. Or else, how could I blend in with the living?" answered the Grim Reaper.
"You've got a good point... Just make sure I don't meet my maker before my future wife," said Matt, casually winking at the Dragoon.
Layla blinked a few times before leaving the room. The Grim Reaper then tried to follow her but was halted by the Loplin gripping on to his wrist.
"I know what you've done," growled Matt as he switched his expression became darker than before.
"I've done a lot of things... You have to be more specific than that," answered the Ankou, still facing the door.
"Don't play games with me. You know what you've done... Are you trying to forgo your end of the bargain? Why did you tell Layla about me?" bellowed the Loplin, tightening his grip on the Ankou's arm.
Sander widened his eyes and sighed before casually prying the rabbit's hand away from his wrist.
"You're lucky that I only told her part of truth... If it was the whole one, I think she would have used your head as a wall mount."
"No kidding! Which still begs the question... Why the hell would you tell her in the first place?! You are the Grim Reaper so you have to remain impartial to every soul and not meddle with our affairs!" scolded the Loplin, ready to punch a hole into Sander's head.
"Because I promised her family to keep her safe... After all, who was the one who dragged her only living family to their grave?" shot back the Ankou, with anger in his tone.
Matt recoiled back as he heard those words. Seizing the opportunity, the Grim Reaper vanished from the spot to join Layla in the kitchen, leaving the rabbit to stand in the room by himself to deal with his emotions.
"I should've never trusted that damned Reaper..." growled the Loplin as his ears lit om bright orange flames.
As he was about to find something to turn into cinders, the Felidae pushed open the door just in time to stop him.
"Oi! Try not to burn my house down and save your Elemental Energy against the fight with the spider later..." said Teemo as he rushed in to hold the angered being back.
The Loplin froze at the spot and then shook the car away.
"Listen... I have no clue how the Ankou got you so riled up but you can't let him get to you. After all, he is the being that is in charge of your soul to get to the afterlife so best not to anger him. And as for your secret with Layla, maybe after killing this spider..."
The Felidae's words trailed off as both knew how Layla would react to the news. How could they dampen the dreams of the a young maiden such as her?
The world was never kind but at least when they look at the little Dragoon, they were reminded that not everything is black and white. Not everyone is insufferable or wants something out of you after doing them a favor.
"Even you get it... I don't know how I'm going to tell her, since it was my fault in the first place," replied Matt, with a defeated slouch.
"It wasn't your fault... You did everything you could during that time. Even he didn't blame you," comforted Teemo as he rested a hand on the rabbit's shoulder.
"How'd you know? You weren't there..."
"Becahse I know you... And my Familiars have observed you during your fights."
