Chapter 78 - Hearty Breakfast

"That's stalking... Why are you doing so?"

"Because I sent you to do my errands and you get into fights because of it... Of course, I have to keep an eye on you. Otherwise, who was going to drag you out of that frozen pond? Anyway, I know you are not the type to leave someone to die. And especially not someone as close to you as him."

Matt didn't want to admit that Teemo's words were comforting to hear and faced away with his arms folded across his chest.

"Now then, let us get on with the day's task. Are you ready, Mattheos the Unsevered?" questioned Teemo, with a big grin.

"Hmph... Of course, I am," answered the Loplin.

As they reached the kitchen, the Ankou and Dragoon were busy preparing a hearty breakfast. Baked potatoes stuffed with cheese and beef cubes, spinach and potato patties, and omelets with bits of salmon.

The Grim Reaper was happily frying the patties while Layla had just finished flipping the omelets when the two other males came into the kitchen. Matt took out the silverware while Teemo grabbed himself a pot of coffee to engulf it.

"I've never known that... In my small lifetime, that I would ever see the Grim Reaper flipping my breakfast..." commented the Felidae, disturbed by that fact.

"All the more you should be thankful..." answered Sander as he placed the cooked patties on the table.

"Why is everyone so surprised that a being like Sander can cook?"

"I mean, he is older than all of us so I won't be so surprised if he could even rear his own animals or make a dress from scratch," quizzed Layla as she was done with the eggs and pulled out the baked potatoes from the oven.

All dishes smelled heavenly as the group dug into the hearty breakfast. After a bit, Layla was the first to break the silence.

"So, how do we intend to meet the spider again? I get that we have to allow her to emerge but do we meet her at the cave or wait until she fully surfaces?" asked the Dragoon.

"I can teleport us nearer to Arakaali's whereabouts but it won't be as accurate as a proper landmark. Nonetheless, it should be in the same area that we fought her yesterday. And I assume that everyone is aware of their roles in this..." answered the Ankou.

Everyone nodded and glanced at each other. They then got ready to head out to fight the Mother Of Webs. But first, the Felidae gave the Dragoon her armor and hurried her back to the chambers to change into it.

"It wasn't easy pulling that armor off in such a short amount of time so I do hope she uses it to its full potential..." said Teemo as he adjusted his gear and blade.

"I was about to ask... How did you manage to do the body armor first before the limbs?" wondered the Loplin.

"With a lot of caffeine and preservance. Like I've warned the Ankou to tell her, that dress is still very new and unseasoned. It's not reinforced so she needs to be careful with it. The armor isn't meant to go head-on with large spells."

"It's supposed to act as a last line of defense. Maybe a few small spells? But I won't bet anything too major..."

The Dragoon flew into the room at high speeds, knocking the poor cat from his feet and slamming his back into the hard ground, shocking everyone.

"I love it! Thank you, thank you! Look! It's so cute!!" yelled the happy girl as she snuggled her cheek onto the poor dizzy cat while also clinging onto his shoulders.

"I'm glad that you like it... But I am not an angel so don't turn me into one please...." mumbled Teemo as he tried his best to stop seeing stars.

"Hm?"

The rabbit chuckled as he helped the duo to get up and the poor cat sat on a chair. Meanwhile, the happy girl was too busy gawking at her new dress to notice the giant bump forming on the back of the cat's head.

"If she's always going to be this happy when she gets a present, remind me to wear a helmet first..." complained Teemo, placing an Ice Crystal on the bump.

"Can't help it, can you? After so many years, I don't think she gets much meaningful gifts," said the Loplin.

The dress that Teemo had made was the same as the Dragoon had picked out days ago but with some small twists. A less puffier set of sleeves and a wave-like pattern sewn onto the skirt's hem.

"Try using your powers, it should have a similar effect as the one Matt is wearing now," instructed Teemo as he was stable enough to walk again.
