Chapter 67 - Tricks Up Our Sleeves

"The Ankou is right so that's why she would be associated with both Water and Dark Elemental powers. Arakaali tended to live amongst the common folk since she never liked getting caught up with political affairs."

"She was known as Vastra, and she made herself famous with her unique style of manipulating Elements," replied the Brine King, as he thought back to the Mother of Webs' initial form.

"Hang on, you said that Arakaali might only have a hint of her Dark Element after transforming into this spider form but she initially has the Dark Element? I'm confused?" asked Matt, tilting his head to the side.

"When a creature gets cursed, one Element is being forced out to make way for the Cursed Affinity... Arakaali was being cursed with the Poison Element and chose to sacrifice her Dark Element but as the years go by and she consumes more souls, the Dark Element can return."

"Though, very rarely. That's why I said there might be a hint or not..." answered the Ankou.

"Honestly, that Spider is an easy target for me but I am limited because of how this Dragoon's body isn't fully compatible with me... Argg!!" complained the Dragoon, who had the Brine King's voice.

"Didn't you just say that you've fully merged with her?" asked Matt.

"Yes, but it still takes time for her body to adapt to my power. If I use what I usually have, her body will explode and she will get tired easily. Hell, she might even change back to her toddler form in the middle of the fight if I'm not careful," answered the Brine King.

"Then how'd she managed to finish you in that fight then? She's gotta be still more powerful than you..."

"She'd destroyed my body, not my soul. If that were the case, I wouldn't be speaking through her now. You've got Ifrit in you, right? But he never once tried to take over you or cursed you other than nightmares..."

The Loplin stayed silent as he recalled how his fight with Ifrit went... Matt then widened his eyes and slammed the table, shooting up from his seat. The poor cat nearly had a heart attack and wanted to give him an earful.

"I have a single spell that can grab Arakaali out of her poison cloud earlier than expected. I don't know if it would be good to use it..."

"Then what are you waiting for?! Hurry up and lay it out on the table so we can get this strategy to move on, I've got a Dragoon's armor to finish..." complained the Felidae.

"It's something that I've never used before because I feel guilty for doing so... However, the spell is a one-time use technique. Once I do fire that, I would be down for the count as it needs my entire body to push itself to a high fever."

"That's mostly the work of Solar Elemental Spells... How did a small fry like you manage to harness such a power?" questioned the Brine King, intrigued.

"As I've said, it's not something that I'm proud to have and would prefer not to use it but seeing that the situation has escalated, I have no choice. The move is powerful enough to turn Minor Goddess into ashes but it can't deal enough damage to more than one enemy."

"Then someone has to keep her followers company... But I think with how things are going, there should be only one other being we have to face. The Tenguis from earlier... Who's going to volunteer to keep her busy?" asked Teemo, keeping the map from before.

"Don't be looking at me! I'm busy killing a giant spider so I can't waste my bullets or effort on another target," exclaimed the Loplin, shaking his head.

"We've got to have a strategy against the Mother of Webs first... That Tenguis can be soloed by you, Teemo Vanderleeden," said Layla, who switched momentarily with the Brine King.

The female Dragoon went up to the Felidae and leaned in to kiss him on the cheek, while also whispering-

"Show me the might of the one who slayed Hades and I will show you beyond my scales," said Layla, seductively.

The Felidae instantly smiled while Matt's eyes flashed red for a single Tick. As for Sander, he could not be bothered with such mundane things and continued with the discussion.

"While the Felidae handles the gatekeeper, what do you propose that the Brine King or I do?" asked the Ankou.

"Let's see... I would need at least another spell to bind the spider into a place so my shot could land its mark. Maybe another hostile spell?" suggested Matt.

"Perhaps but it would be overkill since you've got the power of the Sun in your attack," stated Teemo.
