"The new King is going to get snuffed out if he doesn't establish respect soon… Royal Guard's not gonna like him. He's only a child, still need at least two centuries before he can actually-"
Layla halted her monologue as she heard the familiar chime of her tavern's door. She cursed under her breath for forgetting to lock it first and stood up to tell the late guest off.
"Oi, shop's closed, run home and celebrate…"
The Dragoon widened her eyes and summoned up her weapon, a beautiful oversized Scythe with a shimmering blue curved blade and the upper half of a black human skeleton at the handle's top that connected the blade.
The lower half of the pole was made out of a strong set of black human femurs. Layla clenched her weapon and rose it above her head, before slamming it down at the late guest.
The mysterious being, who was in a pale white cloak and hood, leaped out of the way and back outside, which was the stone pavements of the streets.
Before the guest said anything, Layla rushed out of the tavern and tried her luck at beheading him. The crash of the scythe slamming down onto the pavements was enough to wake the nearby townsfolk up, allowing the mysterious man to escape.
"Damn it, I'm not letting you get away that easily," cursed Layla as she quickly locked the shop's doors and gave chase.
The guest couldn't fly so Layla was at an advantage as she allowed her plum-colored dragon wings sprout from her bag to cover the distance between her and her opponent. The journey landed the duo at the Valokian forest borders of both Valokia and Agastia.
The mystery person screeched in their tracks, before pulling out a red sawed-off shotgun that had streams of Fire Element surrounding it. Layla wasted no time and tried to slash at the enemy, only to create a strong gust of wind to blow off their hood.
The mystery person was definitely not from Valokia and not even remotely like the Dragoons.
A male of lean build with bright emerald pupils and black sclera stared back at Layla. He had medium-length chestnut hair that was braided on only the left side while the other side was untied.
The long brown rabbit ears were a dead giveaway as he could only be from the Kingdom of Loplins, a race of half-humans and rabbits. Their Kingdom, known as Agastia, is situated at the northwest of Valokia.
"I thought bunnies were supposed to be fast? How could you be so slow?" mocked Layla as she attempted another strike, only to clash with a single flaming shot.
She cursed as the shot exploded into a giant fireball, which created a shockwave that pushed her back.
"And I thought Dragons could deal with Fire… I never understood why the lot of you are Water Holders," retorted the bunny man, smirking and firing off a few more shots.
Layla easily deflected the shots but the fight was still considered as a standstill. Since there was no need to hide his appearance, the Loplin quickly took off the rest of his cloak and kept it by his waist belt.
From the clothes he was wearing, a black, skin-tight, sleeveless tank top with a short red coat with black pants and brown shoes, Layla thought he'd look like a bandit.
Meanwhile, the bunny man was still firing off shots to stop Layla's advance. Keeping her off the close-range combat was difficult but it was still an effective defense tactic. However, Layla wasn't fresh meat towards combat and knew exactly what the bun boy was doing.
"To hell with this!" yelled Layla, twirling her scythe around her.
She then lifted the scythe as it was spinning and launched it at the male bunny, much to his horror. He quickly shot a few more rounds to deter the direction of the spinney scythe. How could such a small thing throw such an enormous weapon?!
The female had enough of this tireless fight and slammed her left leg into the ground, causing the ground beneath to dent and her Elemental Aura of ocean blue to appear and surround her figure.
The bunny man quickly prepared his gun to fire whatever Layla was about to put out.As the Dragoon disappeared from her spot, the bunny panicked as she closed the distance once more, now bending down and ready to attack.
She managed to grab her scythe which was flung back and made another swing at the rabbit. He then jumped backward, missing the upward slash of Water Elemental Energy by barely a hair.
The bunny then fired off more shots as he kept leaping backward while Layla pushed him with her scythe attacks, each deflecting the bullets like they were mere pebbles.
