"How is Susie and your mum settling down?" Diane asked as she pulled out a chair for herself. Christian was forced to let her go.
He settled himself at the head chair and draped his thighs with the napkin before picking up his cutlery. "Nothing is amiss. I made them very comfortable so you don't have to worry. Also, Susie asked about you. You should give her a call tonight before the brunch tomorrow."
"Yes, I will." Diane smiled. "I am excited and a little nervous to meet her after a long time."
The truth was that Diane still felt guilty about the past and despite Susie's pleading back then, she still left Christiana and went ahead to marry the man her mother wanted for her.
"Don't be." Christian understood and touched her hand that was on the table. "She is ecstatic and can't wait to meet you."
