The days passed by, Bao Caihong was following the doctor's advice as she went through her journey to recovery. She tried very hard every day in accordance with the bone specialist's guidance and slowly but steadily, her legs began to regain strength.
Initially, she thought that standing again was impossible; however, she was determined not to surrender. She rose up on her two legs with the consistent support from James and the medical team though at times it meant stumbling back into the wheel chair. On this occasion, however, she remained strong and unyielding.
As time went by, Bao Caihong started to see the results of her hard work. She learned how to stand on her own without relying completely on another person even if her legs wobbled and her powers weakened.
Apart from attending physical therapy sessions regularly, Bao Caihong ensured that both she and her unborn baby are medically fit and she had enough nutrients just as the doctor told her. The love for her child tied everything together while she could commit so much.
Within a short period of time, signs of improvement appeared. Her pale complexion recovered some life as color found its way back onto Bao Caihong's cheeks. She got some strength in her body after being immobile for months, as she slowly gained weight.
Upon Dr. Li's return to assess her development, the doctor was surprised by the impressive progress she had made. He felt proud as he watched Bao Caihong's ability to endure and never give up, impressed by how she went from being a dependent patient to a symbol of fortitude and persistence.
However, a single piece of information shattered Bao Caihong's feeling of joy and happiness. James burst into the room with urgent news, disrupting her morning routine of exercise.
"James? What's wrong?" With a confused look on her face, she asked.
"Bao Caihong, this is very important"
Bao Caihong frowned. She slowly sat on the wheelchair, her hands shaking. She looked at James, waiting for him to talk. She watched as he took a deep breath before saying, "I found out who's behind the accident…Xuan Yin"
Her eyes widened in shock, his words sending a chill down her spine.
As James handed her the file, Bao Caihong's hands trembled as she flipped it open, revealing the shocking truth captured in photographs. Her eyes widened in disbelief at the images of Xuan Yin, Gao Ming's mistress, conspiring with the truck driver who had caused her accident.
A surge of anger and betrayal coursed through her veins, her grip on the file tightening with each passing second. How could Xuan Yin, someone who had once portrayed herself as innocent and kind, stoop to such nefarious depths? The realization struck her like a bolt of lightning.
Fury ignited within her heart, her thoughts consumed by a desire for justice and vengeance. The politeness she had in her crumbled away, revealing the steely resolve of a woman scorned. In that moment, all she could envision was retribution, a reckoning for those who had orchestrated her pain and suffering.
With clenched fists and a steely gaze, Bao Caihong vowed to confront Gao Ming and Xuan Yin, to hold them accountable for their deceit and betrayal. The dangerous aura emanating from her was palpable, a manifestation of her unwavering determination to see justice served.
As she stared at the incriminating evidence before her, Bao Caihong's mind raced with thoughts of retribution.
James observed Bao Caihong's sinister expression and the icy determination in her gaze, realizing that she had already made her decision. Despite his concerns for her safety and well-being, he knew that she wouldn't be swayed.
"Bao Caihong," James began, his voice tinged with worry. "What's our next move?"
Bao Caihong's eyes flashed with resolve as she turned to face him. "It's time we paid them a visit," she replied, her voice low but firm. "I think it's high time we left this place."
James felt a pang of concern for her and the unborn child she carried. "Are you sure about this?" he asked, his voice filled with apprehension. "Shouldn't we wait until you're fully recovered?"
Bao Caihong's expression softened momentarily, a hint of gratitude shining through her steely facade. "James, I appreciate your concern," she said, her voice gentle but resolute. "But I can't sit back and let them get away with this."
James nodded, knowing that arguing with her would be futile. "Alright," he conceded, his voice tinged with resignation. "But please, be careful. Your health, and the baby's, should come first."
Bao Caihong offered him a small, reassuring smile. "I'll be fine, James," she reassured him. "We'll leave tomorrow morning."
With a heavy heart, James left to make the necessary preparations, knowing that their journey ahead would be fraught with danger and uncertainty. But he also knew that he would stand by Bao Caihong's side, come what may.
As he departed, Bao Caihong's gaze lingered on the incriminating evidence before her, her determination burning brighter than ever. "Wait for my return," she whispered to herself, her voice a solemn vow of retribution"

Beijing.
Xuan Yin suddenly sneezed. She reached out to touch her nose and frowned. Gao Ming who heard this suddenly rushed out, putting his phone aside as he walked up to her. "Baby, are you feeling alright? You seem to have caught a cold," Gao Ming asked, his voice laced with genuine concern.
Xuan Yin smiled at him, her heart beating so fast against her chest. "I'm fine, just a slight sniffle. It's probably the weather," she replied, attempting to dismiss any worries he might have.
Gao Ming's smile softened as he gently rubbed her head, a surge of warmth flooding his heart. "Take care of yourself, alright? I wouldn't want you getting sick," he expressed, his affection for her evident in his gentle touch.
He didn't know why, but despite his efforts to focus on the present moment with Xuan Yin, memories of Bao Caihong lingered in Gao Ming's mind. He couldn't shake the nagging feeling of unease, knowing that he hadn't heard from his ex-lover in months. Yet, he pushed these thoughts aside, determined to cherish the time he had with Xuan Yin.
As Gao Ming thought about this, Xuan Yin noticed the change in his expression. She immediately moved closer, grabbed his hand and smiled at him. "What are you thinking of?"
"Nothing"
"You're with me now, Gao Ming. Let's focus on us," Xuan Yin whispered, her voice tinged with a hint of possessiveness.
With a soft sigh, she settled herself onto his lap, her movements deliberate as she sought to distract him from thoughts of Bao Caihong. Wrapping her slender arms around his neck, she drew him into a passionate kiss, their lips meeting in a fervent embrace.
Gao Ming's response was immediate, his desire for Xuan Yin igniting as he eagerly reciprocated her affection. His hands traced the curves of her thighs, his touch tender yet fervent as he lifted her skirt, surrendering to the intoxicating allure of their shared passion.
