When Li Xian had opened his eyes, he was groaning in pain. 

"I am not dead yet?"

He saw that he was lying in a forest and that there were tall trees all around him.

For a moment, he looked truly stunned.

It was because he had thought that he had failed his ascension to become an immortal?

Li Xian is from the Great Heavens Celestial Fraternity of the Celestial Realm, which is the middle heavenly realm of the Three Known Realms. Below the Celestial Realm is the lower Mortal Realm and above is the Nine Heavens Immortal Realm.

You can't really say that Li Xian is a mortal because mortal can't live as long as he is. Instead, he is a celestial and a celestial cultivator that aspires to be an immortal cultivator.

There are many mortals that aspires to ascend to the Celestial Realm by cultivating the way so that they will be an immortal. However, most of them did not know that they are not going to be an immortal when they reach the Celestial Realm but a celestial. 

But then, it may not be any difference to the mortals for they will gain long life as a celestial. 

To the mortals, there exists a heavenly court in the Celestial Realm and a Jade Emperor rules over the heavenly realm. 

However, to Li Xian, things were more complex than this. 

As a celestial cultivator, he did not need to care about what a mortal think; he is a born celestial and he is only interested in cultivating the way. 

Day in and day out, he cultivated very hard in order to become a 7th realm great saint. 

When one had become a peaked great saint, they would be able to attempt the 'Immortal Ascension' to become an immortal in the Nine Heavens.

Day in and day out, he had cultivated very hard in a cave that was deep in the mountains where no one would go in order to become a peaked great saint.

In order to become a peaked great saint, he had never taken a bath or change his clothing for the past 3000 years.

In fact, he had never taken an interest in any of the celestial maidens. Or rather his unkempt appearances had kept away the celestial maidens at bay. 

Also, he did not belong to any of the powerful influences or from a powerful cultivation sect. 

He was a renegade cultivator that was forced to cultivate on his own.  

But he was also a lucky cultivator that found a mystic pond in his cave that had the profound effect of enhancing his cultivation. Or else he would never be able to cultivate from the first to the peak of the seventh cultivation realm in just a matter of 3000 years. 

Just before he had attempted his ascend to the Immortal Realm, he cried aloud to the heavens. "A maiden will only slow down the speed of my sword! When I am in the Immortal Realm, there will be immortal maidens that dance for me day in and night out!"

And so, he had attempted his immortal ascension.

Now, the chances of a successful immortal ascension are less than 10% of the time. And powerful profound treasures are used by the celestial cultivators to increase their odds of ascension.

As Li Xian did not have any profound treasures, he did not use any, 

But he did not think that it really matters because he has always been lucky.

Cultivation is all about luck and in order to become a peaked great saint, it requires great luck.

Therefore, he had burst to the heavens like a butterfly that was bursting from its cocoon as he burnt all his profound aura for his immortal breakthrough.

The last thing that he had remembered was that he got struck by the lightning of the Divine Calamity and he had exploded.

That was why when he had opened his eyes, the first words that he had said was. "I am not dead yet?"

"He is awakened!" A beautiful voice had suddenly said.

Li Xian was startled by this beautiful voice and he quickly rose to his feet instinctively.

And he saw that it was an enchanting long raven hair maiden in a sexy toga that was saying it to her companions.

He saw that there were 1 other maiden and 3 other men in the vicinity too.

The enchanting maiden gasped softly, "He has beautiful golden eyes…"

The other maiden was also a beautiful maiden with blonde hair and she was wearing a green tunic and short skirt. However, she had pointed ear instead and was clearly not human. 

Li Xian was startled and he quickly took a step backward when he saw this 'desolate' cultivator it was because in his Celestial Realm, the desolate and the human race do not mix well.

The beautiful maiden in green frowned with a displeasure look at Li Xian, "It looks like he has never seen an elf before. I'm a high elf of the Eternal Tranquil Woods and you can call me Fiona Brightleaf."

There was a look of pride in her beautiful and alluring eyes when she told Li Xian that she was a high elf. 

Li Xian said politely to her, "I'm Li Xian. I'm so sorry that I've never heard of a cultivation sect by the name of the Eternal Tranquil Woods before. As for me, I've no cultivation sect and is a renegade cultivator."

A handsome young man in a white armor and a kite shield asked curiously, "What is a renegade cultivator? Excuse me for interrupting you. I'm Edwin Godwin, a paladin of the Mystic Order of the True Faith and I'm also the leader of this group."

Li Xian appeared to be startled; he is the leader of this group? But the desolate cultivator and him also belongs to a different cultivation sect? They are from the same alliance? 

While Li Xian was thinking to himself, a tall man in black armor and helm was now saying to him. "I'm Brute the Goblin Slayer. I'm only interested to kill goblins, hobgoblins and all other green skins."  

Li Xian: ???

What goblins?

The third man had only light armor on himself but he wielded a long white spear, "I am Jump. You can just call me Jump and I am a dragoon knight. Have you heard of the Sacred Arms of the Dragon Slayers Order? I am from there."

He was grinning with pride as he mentioned his order. Surely this man must have heard of his legendary powerful order. 

Li Xian gasped softly when he had heard him, "You must be a formidable powerful fighter in order to be able to kill a demonic dragon."

Jump was pleased when he had released so much praises from this Li Xian.

But he soon dropped his jaws when he had heard Li Xian. 

Li Xian had said, "Unfortunately, I've never heard of your cultivation sect before either."

Jump: …

Edwin Godwin pointed to the enchanting maiden in white, "She is the one that have treated your injuries."

Then he began to smile wryly, "I shall let her make the introduction to you instead."

The enchanting maiden took a coyly look at Li Xian before she smiled charmingly, "I'm Ellis. I am a holy priestess and I am the one that heals you. For a moment, I've thought that you may die but you sure can recover very fast."

Li Xian smiled; he is a golden celestial and as long as his golden body is still intact, he won't die even if he lost all his limbs and he could even regenerate back his own limbs back. 

All of a sudden, he had turned ashen when he had suddenly realized that he could not drawn upon the spiritual energies which was the foundation of his cultivation.

"Why can't I draw the profound energies anymore?!"

Ellis looked curiously at him, "Do you mean mana to draw your magic?"

Li Xian stared at Iris, "Mana?! What Mana?"

Ellis shyly lowered her head when she saw that Li Xian was looking at her so bluntly, "Did you lose your memory because of your heavy injuries? You need mana to display your magic." 

Li Xian continued to have a blank look on him as he wondered: Am I in a lower mortal world now? And they don't cultivate with spiritual energies but mana? And human and desolate race are actually together?
