Chapter 56 - Lark way of doing mission

Glitch smiled at Lark's reaction and then floated toward the central region. It was time to meet his species.

As he floated up toward the central region, he heard lots of noise coming from the forest below.

Soon, both of them reached the central region, devoid of any trees. But unlike the last time, he saw a massive herd of deer present, eating the newly grown grass.

They had already eaten all the tall old grass that he had planted. Now he understood why Lark was so tense.

Not caring about them, he opened his status and equipped himself with his only title.

[Title: Ruler of Shakhans.

Effect: 1. As the ruler of the Shakhans, you will start with neutral relations with all the Shakhan species in the Universal World.

You can communicate with Shakhans.]

Ding!

[The title Ruler of Shakhans is activated.

(Note: A group ruler could only activate three titles at a time.)]

In Universal Online, a ruler could shuffle the titles as per his needs. Some skills also let players create a set of titles that they could change for different situations, like one for fighting, one for the space village, and more. For now, he could only manually change the title.

As soon as the title effect started working, he felt a little buzz in his ears, and then everything went back to normal. He tried to shake his head to remove the discomfort when Lark said, "Boss, your eyes."

He stared at the little guy.

Lark pointed to his eyes and said, "They flashed in the gray light for a moment, but now it's gone."

Glitch nodded; it must be the ruler effect of the title. Right now, it was this title that would help him communicate with and control Shakhans.

Not caring much, he opened his inventory. Except for the first slot that showed the shiny Shakhans, the other slots were grayed out.

A level one space village did not allow any kind of outside material inside the space village.

He needed to upgrade the space village to have the ability to take in resources from the outside world. He glanced at Lark and pointed to the herd of deer. "Help me clear this region."

Lark nodded to him and floated down toward the central region.

Glitch looked at the scene with interest, as he knew the way assistants handled other creatures could reveal their true personalities.

He had gone through so many attempts that he knew there were a few cases where the assistants had suppressed personalities. These hidden personalities did not come out when they talked with the rulers.

Sometimes these suppressed desires could lead to negative effects on the space village.

He did not see many of them in his last life, but one time he had this old, sweet lady as his assistant who had a thing for furry creatures.

That led to an imbalance in the environment and caused huge losses for him.

That may have been a one-time experience, but it left a deep impression on him to never trust sweet assistants.

Except for being cautious so far, he did not see any obsession in this little guy.

Still, he stared at Lark's back as the little guy moved closer to the deer.

The moment Lark floated closer to the deer, all the deer became alert and stared at him. As they had never experienced hunting, they just stared at Lark with no reaction.

At the start, Lark tried to scare the nearby deer by making loud noises and even tried to push them away, but all failed. They were so bold that one of the stags even kicked the little guy.

Glitch looked at this scene with wide eyes, but he did not move to help. He knew that, with the Space Village marble in Lark's hand, nothing could hurt this little guy.

Sure enough, the little guy got up like nothing had happened and wiped the dust off his face.

Lark looked up at him and asked, "Boss, they are not moving. Can I use force?"

Even though Lark tried to maintain a stoic face, Glitch could see frustration on his face.

This guy had much control over his actions. Even after getting smacked, he was still asking for permission before taking things into his own hands. This control impressed Glitch, but that was not what he wanted his assistant to focus on.

"I told you to make them leave the area as fast as possible. What's the point of asking and wasting time?"

Lark looked flustered at this and tried to justify his actions, but Glitch cut him off. He stared into the little guy's eyes and said in a deep tone, "I don't care about the method as long as you don't kill them."

This was like unchaining a beast. The moment he spoke, he saw a shift in Lark's eyes.

The little guy nodded to him and then started running toward the biggest stag in the herd. Most likely the leader of the herd.

All the deer continued to ignore the little guy, but to his and the deer's shock, Lark jumped up and kicked straight at the big stag's face.

"Aahhhhhh!"

The big stag bellowed in pain.

Not pausing, Lark held an antler with his left hand and started punching back to back on the stag's face.

Lark did not have enough power to do significant damage, but it was enough to make the stag scream in pain and madness.

The big stag started moving around and even tried to slam its head on the ground, but everything failed in front of the immortal guy.

The passive effect of no pain from the space village marble allowed the little guy to beat the dominant stag as much as he wanted.

Even when the stag fell and other deer surrounded them, Lark continued to hit the stag's face.

Soon, the screams of anger transformed into cries for help. The helpless herd could do nothing but stare at the scene in shock.

After beating the dominant deer senselessly, Lark dropped down from the deer's neck.

A few in the herd were about to rush toward him when Lark kicked the dominant stag, waking it up, and pointed randomly toward a sub-region.

The male stag was furious with red eyes, but the moment it saw Lark walking back toward it, it rushed up and, screaming one last time, started running toward the direction Lark pointed to.

Soon, other deer also followed their leader, and the central region became empty. Lark looked up and smiled at him. "I am done, boss."
