Chapter 59 - Species history

"Let's go, Lark. It's time for some introductions."

Lark nodded his head. "Mm."

As both of them floated down, all the Shakhans stopped staring at one another and looked up in unison.

The moment they saw him, all of them fell to their knees and shouted, "Ruler!"

It was his first time hearing their voices, which sounded a little garbled to his ears, but with the effect of the title, he had no problem understanding them.

However, the words that came out of their mouths made his eyes pop open. 'They understand my position.'

Glitch scratched his head and mumbled, "Species status."

[

Species: Shakhan

Origin: Primordial.

Available trait: 10.

Source: Blood.

Sub-source: Mutation Energy.

Species Talent: Tough life.

Initial method: Blood converging symbiosis.

-> Description:

Shakhans are a rare species that survive with a primordial connection. The primal connection creates a burden on the species' temperament that makes them aggressive.

—————————————

-> History (new):

In the old days, the Shakhans went through a mutation that let them retain their sanity. After the mutation, the species started flourishing with their primal trait, but soon others thriving on the land discovered them, and a war started.

On the verge of extinction, all of them rushed to hide in different areas. Others were not kind enough to let them survive and continued hunting them.

The centuries-long hunt led to a deep grudge within the species.

Eons later, on the brink of extinction in the forgotten exile, they gave up their freedom to come under the Ruler Glitch.

They wish to have the power to once again walk on the surface. This hunger led to the discovery of the first method of blood-converging symbiosis.

-> Method:

* Blood-converging symbiosis: Creatures can inject the blood of other creatures to get a temporary boost in strength and mutation.

The more he read the history, the more his head hurt.

This was the first time he had seen such a detailed history.

It was an interesting aspect of the game world. Here, the system did not produce creatures out of thin air. All creatures, including the artificial ones like assistants, had their histories and lives before they got into the space village.

In his last life, the 100 creatures the player got were those that gave up on their freedom in some part of the game universe. Now how true this was, he did not know.

Even with this, it's just that they had little recollection of their memories before coming to the space village.

This was especially true for humanoid creatures with high IQs like elves, dwarves, and even smart beasts like dragons and more.

But most of the time, the history was basic. Like how they were on the brink of death because of X, Y, and Z reasons, and they sought rulers for survival.

In all his past attempts, most creature history was about how they fell from the edge of their world, were on the brink of starvation, and more. This was the first time he learned of such a detailed history.

Even though it was new, Glitch took it calmly. To be true, it was not like he did not have any idea.

It's just that there was a time in the past when some players spread rumors about how sometimes S-grade species could have a detailed history.

If he remembered correctly, it was some unique dragon players who had these crystal dragon species.

If he remembered right then, according to those rumors, these crystal dragons used to get hunted by others for the crystals embedded in their bodies. All that resulted in dragons developing extreme hatred for three kinds of creatures.

Many believed that these dragons would lose control if they came across any member of those three species.

Later on, people dismissed it because nothing happened.

That was not the end, as once that player achieved fame, he admitted that his species had that history. But then he explained how having a history was not much of a deal as most of the creatures themselves did not know about these histories.

Even though Glitch did not doubt those guys in the past, now he was not sure if his specific group history would have any effect or not.

After all, no lower-grade Shakhans player reported anything like that on the internet. It could relate to the higher grades of a species.

Glitch sighed and moved right to the center of the group. As he did that, all the Shakhans shifted a little. Even the central three subgroups did the same. He looked at all of them with interest.

Even though they were on their knees, he could see different expressions on their faces. Some looked at him with reverence, while others looked itchy to fight with him to prove themselves.

Still, the biggest mysterious group did not have any reaction on their face. Still, he could see the sense of excitement in their eyes. Now that he was super close to them, he could see everyone in this group had pale faces. They looked sick, but he could sense danger from them.

Next to them, the other two were also opposite one another. Those with male leads looked itchy to fight, but they looked extremely feeble compared to others. If not for the traits list, he even doubts if they could even hunt pigs on their own.

While in the third group, all looked like saints. They did not have any muscles, but he could sense the highest concentration of primal energy around them.

No matter how they were reacting, with all of them on their knees, it was clear all the sub-groups knew he was their ruler and leader. Well, it was not just about them knowing about the ruler but also because of his title, Ruler of Shakhans.

Right now, in others' eyes, he was the strongest being capable of leading them.

All of this was a simple disguise for the ruler to gain a little trust from the beginning. If not for this title, he was sure that most of these Shakhans would start a death fight to decide the new leader among themselves.

But he knew the basic title effect would not last many days. He had to do stuff that solidified his position in their hearts.

What was more interesting was how they were looking at Lark.
