Jules opened his eyes and saw a few people around him staring at him.
He clenched his teeth and pushed himself up, not caring about others as he dragged his feet to the front.
Many looked at him with impatience in their eyes.
He ignored them and said with a wide smile, "I am Jules, and I got a B grade."
Everyone in the hall started whispering about him. Jules just stood there expressionless. He knew many of them would hate his higher grade.
From the corner of his eyes, he even saw Boss Bruno frowning while the Vice Leader grinned at him.
Earlier, when he was thinking about the situation, it hit him that there was no point in running.
If he wanted to change his conditions, then he needed to confront things head-on.
Teacher Ron announced at this moment, "Okay, that's it. You guys are free to do whatever you want; just remember to come to the meeting at 8:30 in the morning."
As Teacher Ron stopped speaking, the tension in the gaming hall rose.
Everyone stared at the boss and vice leader as they continued to stare at one another. But then both of them turned around and walked out of the gaming hall like nothing happened.
Other members also did not think much and did the same, rushing out in different directions. Some went to the canteen, while others moved toward their rooms.
Jules was part of the second group. He rushed straight toward his room.
In this facility, the gaming hall was right in the middle, and the corridor left to it led to the gym, canteen, and relaxing hall. On the right side, there was a meeting room, a living corridor with all the rooms, and a swimming pool at the end.
He moved to the right and moved toward the living corridor.
His room was in the deeper corner of the living hall. Senior members had taken all the top rooms that were near other facilities while he got the furthest room.
At least the good thing was his roommate was another chore boy who also got a C grade, so he would not get any trouble with that guy.
That guy being a C grade would also divert a little attention from him.
Soon he reached the 25th room. After placing his room card on the scanner, he opened the door and entered the room.
Inside, it was a square-type room with two beds on the opposite side wall. There was also a set of chairs and tables for both people paced near the front wall.
There was a closet below the left bed, while the door to the bathroom was toward the right bed.
Then there was this gigantic space between both beds. He did not know about others, but for him, who used to sleep on the road, it was heaven.
He walked closer to the bed and saw one tablet and one mobile phone on both beds.
There was also some note next to them, which he did not bother to read. He already knew what it said.
As he saw all these, he once again realized that even though the gang took them as game slaves, the gang itself was in desperate need of talented players.
Their actual purpose was not to get slaves but to find some outstanding players who would stay loyal to them.
The biggest problem with Universal Online was this game required lots of investment in beginners. There were cases where, once these players made a name, they would leave the organization to join others.
This was the reason most of the big gaming organizations had these official treaties so that they wouldn't poach each other's players.
If anyone dared to break it, they would face wars from others.
But that was not the case for new growing organizations and guilds. These big organizations did not care about small guilds and they just poached their players.
In that sense, the Eagle Gang and other big gangs were new organizations that were struggling to move past this initial grinding phase.
He stopped thinking about the gang and other things. He just jumped on his left bed. As soon as he hit that soft, unreal mattress, his eyes became heavy, and he blacked out.
…
After a long time, Jules felt someone touching him.
"Hey… wake up….."
He heard some shouting. Not wanting to wake up, he curled up with both his hands covering his ears.
"Hey, it's time….. up."
He heard another loud shout, and at that, he popped open his one eye and saw a skinny guy the same age as him was shaking him.
If he was not wrong, this was his roommate, Mark.
"Hey, wake up; it's time."
Mark's loud shout screeched in his ears. Before Mark could shout more, he asked in irritation, "What's going on?"
Mark flinched for a second. He then pointed to the clock. "It's already 8 am. The meeting will start at 8:30."
He looked at the clock on the wall, and the next moment, he jumped off his bed. "Damn, I slept for 20 hours."
He jumped out of bed and rushed to prepare as fast as he could for the meeting.
Mark waited for him for a few minutes, but then he left the room alone.
Jules got ready in 10 minutes and then rushed to the canteen for a quick meal.
There he saw many like him who were stuffing as much food as possible before the meeting started.
After the quick meal, he ran to the meeting room and reached there just 2 minutes before the deadline.
Not to his surprise, many were still missing, while most of those who were even present in the room had their eyes closed.
8:30 was too early for a bunch like them. Not caring about them, he walked to the back of the class, eagerly waiting for this meeting.
Unlike the first meeting, he was super excited for this one as he knew Teacher Ron would explain the planet Nex map to them.
This used to happen every time in his past life, every time they started their new cycle.
He was also interested to know if there would be any change of action in gang plans, as there were many high-grade players in their group.
However, he was sure that the gang must have realized that the event had increased the overall rating of most players.
'Wait now that I think of planet Nex. Why is this planet in the Marcum galaxy? As far as I remember, in the game Eagle gang base is in the Octume Galaxy. So, why are we playing in a different galaxy?'
