Glitch dragged his feet, moving around with blood-red eyes, searching for his last prey.
He carried a blood-stained tank on his back while mumbling in frustration. "Only one, just one. Show up."
He was dead tired of this task.
Still, he did not lose all his sanity and rushed to any mini-boss. He just continued to drag his feet while mumbling random things.
Suddenly, something grey moved past from his left side.
He growled, "Ahhh," and madly rushed toward the grey wolf. The wolf started whimpering and increased its speed.
Not wanting to lose his prey, he dropped the tank and sprinted to the wolf.
He looked more like a monster at this point. The unlucky wolf stumbled in fear and Glitch got hold of its tail. The wolf bit his arm. Not caring about the injury, he grabbed the wolf's head and snapped it.
Crunch! With that wolf died.
After killing the wolf, Glitch lay beside the dead body. As the effect of adrenaline ended, he started feeling pain all over his body. Universal Online had a normal 30% pain limit.
That means if he felt 100 points of pain in real life after his hand broke, then he would only feel 30 points of pain in the game.
This pain was sufficient to jolt him back to his senses. He checked the time and sighed in relief. There were still 5 minutes left.
He mumbled in a low tone, "Status."

"Sigh. I am out of stamina and health." After doing all this hunting, he gained a high respect for that guy who found this method in his previous life.
Even when he knew the effect of his action, he still wanted to give up on multiple instances and there were crazy guys out there doing all these things without knowing the effect.
This was a reality check for him that there were many savage players out there. In front of those guys, his two years of extra knowledge would be nothing.
Just from this task, it became clear to him that just mimicking others would not help me in the long run. He needed to start his savagery for success.
Glitch stopped thinking. He walked to his blood tank and then finally scooped the last creature's blood in the tank with a sense of satisfaction.
"Finally, this marks the end of grinding." He just sat next to the blood tank, waiting for the start of the last phase of the trial.
Soon, a loud horn sound came from the village, and with that, a notification popped in front of him.
[Special event!!
Event: Call of the Village Chief.
Description: The village chief senses some irregularities in the forest. The village chief summoned all the rulers back into the village.
Task: Every ruler needs to gather in the village plaza within the time limit.
Time limit: 9:58
Fail plenty: End of trial.]
Glitch stood up, turned to the opposite side of the village, and started running deeper into the forest with the blood tank on his back.
This was the common mandatory special event he was waiting for.
This happened at every trial and in these 10 minutes, all the monsters became inactive in the forest.
Without encountering anyone, he reached quite deep into the forest and there he spotted his target.
In the wide area devoid of any trees, there was a small purple crack present in the air. The crack in the area was slowly growing.
He even spotted another space crack a few hundred meters next to it.
In Universal Online, there was no concept of monster revival. instead, there were special regions like this forest that were connected to broken-space villages.
Every ruler in the game got one parallel space village to cultivate their species. He would also unlock his space village at the end of the trial.
These parallel space villages were infinitely large and usually had a faster time rate than game time. All of that helped rulers to cultivate their species, but once a ruler died or in a player's case, once their account got deleted, then their space village would connect to the game world.
This would create phenomena like this forest where these space cracks opened daily to allow a certain number of monsters into the forest.
This way, every creature in the game was unique.
Now, except for the broken space village, there were also gateways of higher dimensions that opened in the game world. These gates allowed higher players to enter inside to do quests, but beginner planets didn't have those gates.
What set apart space village from other dimensions was that it only allowed creatures to move out from the Space Village to the game world, not the other way around.
That same for the monsters. Once they were out, they could not get back.
Even though Glitch could not go to the other side, he still moved closer to the space crack.
He opened the blood tanks and poured all the blood inside the space crack.
As he emptied the tank, he heard an angry growl from inside. Just the sound gave him goosebumps. He took a deep breath and threw the empty tank inside. "fck you."
The next moment, a powerful sound wave from one howl hit him, making him fly a few steps away. It was clear some powerful creature got angry at him.
Just like any sane person, he turned around and started running back.
Waoooo Waoooo Waoooo!
He heard multiple angry howls from forests. "Fck, I need to reach the village fast."
With how angry these guys were, he was sure this time some strong canine creature was going to come out.
As he was running he spotted other groups of players running toward the village.
He sneakily joined one group. Most of the guys here had similar, some even had worse conditions than him. It was clear to him that these guys were those that hunted those powerful min bosses.
Soon all of them entered back in the village.
The moment Glitch stepped inside the village a new notification popped in front of him that made him smile.
