"Damn it, I really hate Spatial Rifts," Jasmine muttered, trying to steady herself as the disorientation from the rift made her stomach churn.
"All I wanted was to go to school like a normal person. But no, that cursed bastard who somehow noticed me had to ruin it," she grumbled, fighting back the nausea.
Jasmine didn't notice the manaless youth standing behind her, his curious eyes fixed on her. Ryan had given up hiding, feeling as though he was already being watched. He dropped his Spatial Barrier, yet the witch remained oblivious.
"You'd think I'd get used to them after…" she trailed off, finally turning around to see Ryan with a sheepish smile.
"Hey, what's your name?" he asked casually as if following her through an unknown rift was the most natural thing in the world.
