Chapter 2 - Fallen

It was a dark night with no stars in sight. The rain was pouring heavily, wetting the earth with its downpour. Amidst all these, a large creature could be seen falling from the sky. Torn wings, eyes closed and a slightly injured body.

Falling to the ground with a large thump, his eyes shot open, as he gazed around trying to get familiar with it's surrounding. Suddenly, an excruciating pain shot out through his whole body, making him groan in agony. The feeling of hell on his body, crushing his bones and making his blood boil. Green veins could be seen popping out of his head as his eyes were bloodshot red.

"Where am I?" He wondered as his eyes closed slowly, his wings out of sight as he went unconscious.

Oh how the mighty angel has fallen.

Should the earth weep for him?

Or should people fear the havoc he's brought to earth.

Waking up the next day in a small room. He sat up and glanced around the room. A wooden chair, a wooden bed and the door was slightly open. His injuries were gone and his body was back to normal. The only thing missing was his pair of wings.

"God must have taken it away as my punishment" he mumbled.

Seeing himself in a new environment, he was unusually calm. Last night he found himself in a forest, and now, he's in an unknown place. What else could he fear when he has lost his home?

Moments later, a young girl could be seen walking into the room. Her eyes widned in surprise when she noticed that the weak man her father brought in last night had quickly recovered. "How's that possible?"

At the same time, he raised his head up and met her gaze. She had the most beautiful hazel eyes, with her brown hair almost reaching her waist. Her skin was fair and smooth complimenting the yellow gown she was putting on. "She's indeed beautiful"

He got up from the bed, his steps slow and dignified as he approached her, "How did I get here?"

Melody raised her head up to see his face clearly and her heart thumped erratically in her chest. He had the most perfect face. Pointed nose, well defined jaw, thin lips and his piercing green eyes.

Wait, green eyes? Where did that come from?

Forgetting about his question, melody turned around to leave with a fleeting thought in mind, "Just what is he?"

Watching her retreating figure, Lucian wondered why his question was ignored.

"Father!" Melody called out, raising her dress slightly as she entered into his shop. "He's awake"

Melody's father, Gerald got up immediately, his eyes filled with disbelief, "That's impossible. It should take him months as he was really injured last night. "

Melody nodded her head in approval. Humanely speaking, it should take him months to heal completely and he accomplished that in a day?

Melody moved closer to her father, helping him with his clothes, "Father he has green eyes". Looking at her father's reaction, she paused for a bit before adding , "He's a fine young man but he seems to beautiful."

Removing a completed dress from his machine, Gerald gave it to his daughter, "This should do for the ball."

"Father" Melody mumbled as her eyes turned misty with tears. Ever since her mother died, her father has never failed to provide her with everything she needs. Despite his busy schedule, he made time to make her this lovely dress. Her heart felt contented with her father's love. She threw her hands around him, a beautiful smile on her lips, "Thank you dad"

Gerald returned his daughter's hug, pushing her slightly as he said proudly," Anything for my pretty daughter."

Gerald's expression changed slightly as he remembered the stranger in their house. "Let's go see him" he said as he walked out of the shop with Melody.

On reaching the room, Lucian was lying comfortably on the bed, making the room look more refined with his presence alone. Sensing the presence of people, he opened his eyes slowly, his gaze landing on Gerald and his daughter, Melody. "Thank you for saving me".

Gerald's jaw dropped to the ground. With what his daughter said earlier, he thought she was exaggerating. Now that he's seeing him, he's speechless. "Is he a prince?" He wondered as he stared at him intently.

Recovering from his reverie, "No, it's fine. How are you feeling?" Gerald asked.

Judging by the look on Gerald's face, Lucian could tell he was shocked by his appearance. Seeing an ethereal beauty with piercing green eyes isn't something you see everyday. The fact that he healed at an inhumane rate baffled Gerald.

"I'm fine" Lucian simply replied as he adjusted himself on the bed, inviting Gerald and his daughter to come have a seat.

As Gerald sat on the bed, his daughter on a chair, his expression changed slightly as he was baffled by lucian's identity. "Who are you? and why were you there alone in the forest?"

Lucian's calm face cracked a little as he remembered how he got there. How he got chased down from heaven for his disobedience to his father, how he got stripped of his wings and how he fell into this cruel world.

"I don't remember who I am, nor do I remember how I got there" he lied through his teeth.

Gerald casted a weird glance at him, surprised by his answer. Last night he found a man with bruises on his body, laying on the ground weakly. There seemed to be a dent in the ground where he was but his eyes were closed. He noticed he didn't have any injury in his head so he wondered if he was telling a lie. "So you don't have a name?" Gerald asked again.

However, Lucian shook his head in denial. He wasn't supposed to remember his name if he doesn't remember his home. "None that I can remember."

"So..

"I'll give you a name" Melody chimed in, not allowing her father to finish his statement. "You need a name" she added as she glanced at him, a smile playing on her lips. She paused for a bit and placed her hands on her chin, making a humm sound as she thought of the perfect name. "What about Damien? " She asked as her eyes lit up at the thought of naming someone "Damien."
