Fire ploughed through the store, as the boy held onto Bernadette jumping into the air. Before the cape's limbs slammed towards the leader of the thugs.
But he managed to evade, by leaping over a shelf. Which resulted in the impact of the limbs to make a crater on the ground.
"Wha-". A second ago Bernadette thought she was on the shelf, now she's being held by the boy who was doing things she didn't understand.
"The kid really got powers too, amazing shit." The leader said, as the boy dropped onto another shelf with the girl.
Bernadette removed herself from his grip, distracting the boy as the leader took that opportunity to send fire their way once again.
The boy's cape retaliated against this, creating a projectile out of itself to push the flames and the leader out of the building, tearing them through the glass window violently.
Bernadette dropped onto her behind, scared of what to do. All the while the cape kept twisting, turning and contorting while the boy stared to the destruction it caused.
"Autogenes." The boy repeated.
From the debris fire erupted from the hands of the man and his mouth, symbolizing his resistance to lose. "I could use a thug like You in my crew. What do you say? I don't wanna kill off wasting potential." He shouted.
"Autogenes." the boy repeated to him with a serious look on his face.
The leader lunged forward, flames erupting from his feet as he shot into the building towards the boy. He kicked the boy in the gut, causing saliva to spray from his mouth, the force from the kick drove him through a wall, breaking it like paper, into another room.
Bernadette saw this as an opportunity to leave this place of madness, but a thought lingered in the back of her head, saying that she shouldn't just abandon the person that just saved her from a crucial fate.
"Like hell I should stay here, I almost got...." She was conflicting with her emotions to leave or to stay.
"Kid you good?" the cashier asked her.
"Yeah I'm fine and you?" she replied.
"Better than these fellas." The cashier said looking down up on the dead bodies with glaring holes in them.
"Shit boss is losing it." One of the survived thugs inserted, they were arguing as what they should do.
"Don't do anything boys " The cashier demanded, he was holding a shotgun up to them. They were shocked and scared by this predicament.
This puzzled Bernadette, how much surprises are there to this place.
After the intense confrontation, the two super powered opponents crouched, staring at each other in the room. Clothing hung all over the place, suggesting it was a storeroom they crashed in.
"Autogenes." the boy repeated, holding onto his stomach where a bruise rested.
"Is that the only thing you're going to say kid?" Leader removed himself from the ground, surprised that there weren't any burns on the boy. But, it was evident the force from the attack hit him.
During all of this, the cape kept moving, then immediately expanded in a 180° range towards the leader.
The leader saw this as an assault as he flung flames towards the attack. The boy leapt towards him and sending a kick into his face, disorientating the leader temporarily.
For a piece of the cape to morph into a limb that bashed him into his side. Breaking a rib, pain took the man as this resulted in him to yell with flames erupting from his mouth.
Hitting the boy and sending him rolling backwards as he also ached in pain. Despite the boy's damage, the cape began to change again. Turning into limbs that lifted him up off the ground and soar towards the leader.
The leader managed to evade, before firing a fireball to the boy, causing an explosion that began to set the place on fire.
The explosion distracted the cashier, resulting in one of the thugs try and hit him with a Okapi knife. But he was quick enough to see this coming and pulled the trigger.
Sending pallets chairing to the subs chest as blood scattered.
Bernadette screamed, seeing a man getting killed right in front of her. Only for the cashier to realize what he had done, "Oh shit." He said.
"Holy shit!" Another survived thug shouted, as the others make a run for it.
The screaming of the girl distracted the caped boy, who was dripping with blood. The room blistering with fire, with the leader seemingly unfazed by it. "Here's the thing about using fire kid, you're immune to it."
The boy turned his attention back on the leader, with their cape morphing again.
"Autogenes." He repeated.
The leader removed himself from the ground, gathering flames that's around him, saying "I'm startin to think you're shitting with me. But fine, I'll burn you and your shadow to dust.".
With that said, a fury of fire was again tossed towards him. But stronger, with an intention of murder.
But yet, the boy leapt forwards towards death. As two limbs sprouted from the cape and turned into sharp blades, coming together around his torso that slash in opposite directions.
Cutting through the fire, and slashing the leader in the gut. All the while the fire burns at his skin, the boy felt the stabbings of flames crawling on him.
"Wh- hoack-" The leader said, watching as his organs retreat from his cut open stomach. Choking on his own blood in disbelief.
The boy landed upon him, with the cape hurling over like a hail and slammed into him. Painting the fires in the room with red.
Blood splattered on the boy's face as he stood up from the crushed body of the leader.
With the cape retracting back to him. Breathing heavily with an expression of relief. Then the cape suddenly crawled into his back, disappearing.
But then a shriek rang though his head, immediately gripping upon it with an anonymous voice stating:
NUMBER 16 ELIMINATED | KILLER: NUMBER 8
Then the ringing sounds left his brain, as he looked around wondering if someone was trying to attack him to see nothing. Except the place engulfed in flames.
"What am I gonna do?" The cashier said, as fire alarms goes blazing out of control all over the store to take the flames.
Bernadette slowly backed up to the exit door, still trying to comprehend what she saw in a few minutes of her being here. Of how things escalated so quickly.
"You killed a man-" She said.
The cashier lowered the shotgun, taking a breather saying. "Not my first, you'd collect blood on your hands when you serve the military for 20 years or so. Nobody will miss these guys."
"What about those other guys?" Bernadette asked, taking her focus off his response.
"Like hell I'd know, or what they are." The man replied looking towards the hole in the wall the two created earlier.
Only to see the boy walking out with blood covering his torso and face, yet he seem neutral. Looking at them, then at the girl.
He smiled, which worried Bernadette.
"Thank you okay." She replied.
The boy tilted his head, as if he didn't understood what she said. Yet he smiled at her.
"Could've sworn he had a huge thing behind him? Or was I seeing things." The cashier said as the alarms of police vehicles were coming in.
Bernadette heard this and didn't wanted to end up being a suspect in a murder, despite being a victim.
"I'm leaving." She stated, turning away before she was stopped by the cashier.
"Take the dude with you." He demanded.
She turned around confused, "Take him where? He's a killer-"
"A killer who saved you, just repay him the favour." The cashier explained, putting his shotgun down on the counter.
"But, what am I supposed to even go with him?" She replied.
The cashier went over to grab a fire extinguisher, to deal with the raging flames. "Clearly he doesn't understand English, so I dunno, but he can't stay here."
Bernadette listen to these words, she reluctantly walked over to the boy and grabbed his arm. "Let's go."
The boy tilted his head, only to start moving with her, this walking turned into running as they made themselves out of the store.
Only leaving the man in the cashier, littered with wetness, flames and the deceased.
"What's becoming of this world father?" The man said to himself, having faith in a power above him.
