Chapter 66 - "I'm Gonna Kill You Bitch!"

Kiyomi stood at the edge of the arena, her eyes closed as she centered herself. The weight of the Advanced Rank Holy Empress Attire felt comforting, its radiance reflecting her inner strength. Her purple hair shimmered in the light, making her appear almost ethereal. In her hand, the God Rank Primordial Staff pulsed with latent power, ready to channel her Qi mastery. Her opponent, Adalina, stood opposite her, clad in the sleek Advanced Rank yoroi, her eyes sharp and focused. The tension in the air was palpable, the silence before the storm of their impending clash.

Adalina smirked, breaking the silence. "You look like a porcelain doll in that outfit, Kiyomi. Too bad I'm going to shatter you into pieces."

Kiyomi opened her eyes, a calm but determined look in them. "Trash talk won't save you, Adalina. I'll show you the difference between raw power and true mastery."

Adalina's smirk widened. "We'll see about that. Prepare to taste the shadow and fire of my Qi."

Kiyomi's eyes snapped open. She moved with fluid grace, her skill Qi Burst sending out a flurry of projectiles towards Adalina. The air crackled with energy as the bright projectiles streaked across the arena. Adalina countered with her skill Yin Shadow Needle, dark, slender needles shooting from her fingers to intercept the Qi projectiles. Explosions of energy erupted where they met, casting brilliant flashes across the arena and kicking up dust and debris.

Adalina was quick, using her movement skill Yin Glide to move like a shadow across the field, evading Kiyomi's strikes with ease. But Kiyomi anticipated this. She activated her movement skill as well, Qi Dash, her body a blur as she closed the distance, then her skill Qi Strike aimed at Adalina's midsection. The impact sent a shockwave through the arena, but Adalina twisted, absorbing the blow with her defensive skill Yin Barrier. The shimmering shield of dark energy absorbed the force, dispersing it harmlessly.

With a cry, Kiyomi activated her terrain skill: Celestial Sanctuary. The ground beneath them shifted, pillars of crystalline energy rising, creating a battlefield of her design. The terrain hummed with her Qi, enhancing her abilities and hindering Adalina's movements. She raised her Primordial Staff, embedding it into the ground to hold the sanctuary's activation, allowing her to now move and channel her next moves without distraction.

Adalina frowned, her movements becoming more deliberate. "Nice trick. Too bad it won't save you." She activated the yang version of her movement skill Yang Dash, her form flickering with fiery speed as she tried to navigate the altered terrain. Adalina uses Yin/Yang style therefore having an even wider range of skills compared to average cultivators. Her skill Yin Blade clashed with Kiyomi's Qi Amplified strikes, each blow sending sparks of energy cascading through the air. The clang of metal on energy resonated, creating a rhythm to their battle. Kiyomi was winning, her mastery over the sanctuary giving her a distinct advantage.

But then, amidst the chaos, a subtle shift occurred. The Platinum Rank Soldier, an undercover GEI agent, struck from the shadows. His blow landed unseen by most, but JacQuarius and Tela's cries of outrage pierced the air. Kiyomi staggered, the sneak attack breaking her concentration. The Celestial Sanctuary faltered, the pillars crumbling as she spat up blood, the pain ripping through her. Her vision blurred momentarily, and she struggled to regain her footing.

Adalina seized the moment. "Looks like your sanctuary isn't as safe as you thought." With fierce resolve, she activated her own terrain skill Meikai, plunging the arena into darkness. Kiyomi's vision blurred further, the darkness disorienting her. She called upon her signature skill Qi Pulse, a wave of energy rippling from her body to disrupt the oppressive shadows, but Adalina was relentless. Using her enhancement skill Yin Focus, she honed her senses, becoming a specter in the dark. Her movements were precise and calculated, each strike aimed to exploit Kiyomi's vulnerability.

The fight grew more intense. Kiyomi struggled to regain control, using her self heal skill Qi Renewal to heal her wounds, but Adalina's skills Yin Blade and Yang Fist were unyielding. Kiyomi's defensive skill Qi Shield barely held against the onslaught. She needed to turn the tide, and fast. Each hit from Adalina felt like it carried the weight of the world, pushing Kiyomi closer to her limits.

Summoning her last reserves of strength, Kiyomi activated her summoning skill Qi Manifestation. Spectral guardians, embodiments of her Qi, materialized around her, aiding her defense. These ethereal beings clashed with Adalina, their presence buying Kiyomi precious moments. She then unleashed her nature skill Dreadful Tears, a torrential rain falling within the Meikai, draining Adalina's Qi while restoring her own. For a moment, it seemed Kiyomi might recover. The rain was a brilliant display, shimmering with an eerie light that momentarily pierced the darkness.

Adalina grit her teeth. "You're persistent, I'll give you that. But it ends now." She then activated her Ultimate Skill, Yin Yang Eclipse. The darkness of Meikai intensified, and within it, a celestial phenomenon unfolded. The eclipse surged with energy, blindingly bright against the consuming shadows. Kiyomi's heart pounded; she could feel the overwhelming force. The entire arena seemed to hold its breath, the air thick with anticipation.

As the Yin Yang Eclipse reached its zenith, Adalina struck. The combined power of yin and yang energy enveloped Kiyomi, piercing through her defenses. She cried out, her strength failing her as the ultimate attack shattered her remaining defenses and sent her sprawling to the ground. The force of the impact left a crater in the stage floor, a testament to the sheer power Adalina had unleashed.

The participants were silent for a moment, the aftermath of the battle settling like dust. Kiyomi lay on the ground, her breath ragged. Adalina stood over her, her form silhouetted against the dissipating eclipse. The Soldiers conferred briefly before announcing the victor: Adalina. The declaration echoed through the arena, met with a mix of cheers and stunned silence.

The crowd erupted in applause, but Kiyomi could only hear the sound of her own heartbeat, the pain in her body a dull throb. Adalina walked off the stage, her expression unreadable. As she approached the sidelines, JacQuarius was waiting for her. His grip on her arm was firm, his eyes cold. The tension between them was palpable, an undercurrent of unspoken animosity.

"I'm gonna kill you bitch," he whispered, his voice a low, dangerous growl.

Adalina's eyes widened slightly, but she said nothing, her gaze fixed on the horizon. She felt the weight of his threat, the promise of further conflict lingering in the air. She knew this victory was only a step in a much larger game, and the true battle was yet to come.

Kiyomi, still on the ground, watched them through blurred vision. She struggled to rise, her body aching with every movement. JacQuarius' threat echoed in her mind, a reminder of the dangerous world they all inhabited. As she finally stood, she felt a hand on her shoulder. It was Tela, her expression one of concern and anger.

"That Bitch Cheated, We already Know Kiyomi. You did well," Tela said, his voice trembling with suppressed rage. "That Bitch ass Nigga's interference…"

Kiyomi shook her head weakly. "It doesn't matter now. What's done is done. We need to stay focused on the bigger picture."

Tela nodded, though the anger in his eyes didn't dissipate. "We'll get to the bottom of this. They won't get away with it."

Kiyomi managed a weak smile. "I know. But for now, let's regroup. This isn't over."

As they walked away from the arena, Kiyomi glanced back at Adalina. Despite the pain and the defeat, she felt a strange sense of respect for her opponent. Adalina had fought with skill and determination, and even though the victory had been marred by interference, it was clear that Adalina was a formidable cultivator.

JacQuarius and Tela, walking beside Kiyomi, exchanged a glance. JacQuarius admired Kiyomi's resilience and grace, his eyes lingering on her radiant Holy Empress Attire. The way it highlighted her strength and beauty was mesmerizing. He found himself both angered by her defeat and captivated by her presence.

Tela, too, couldn't help but be drawn to Kiyomi. There was a fierce determination in her eyes, a beauty that went beyond her physical appearance. Tela felt a mixture of admiration and protectiveness, her heart stirring with feelings she had not anticipated.

The Battle ended with the promise of further conflict, the shadows of their struggle lingering like ghosts in the arena. The rivalry between JacQuarius's group and Adalina was far from resolved, and the stakes were higher than ever. As they each prepared for their future battles in the tournament, they knew that these battles were just the start.

JacQuarius looked at Kiyomi's loss as a common phrase would say "lost the battle, but not the war." Despite her loss, he was still proud of Kiyomi, she did really well and would of won despite the interference from the undercover GEI Agent. JacQuarius was more angered by the interference of the undercover GEI Agent, he had completely contradicted the previous conversation of theirs, further lowering the trust between JacQuarius and the GEI.

But then it came to him!

"Adalina is an agent from the GEI!" The thought exploded in his mind like a firework, illuminating the dark recesses of his doubts and suspicions.
