JacQuarius, Kiyomi, and Tela were now all at their house, huddled together in the dimly lit living room. The atmosphere was tense, charged with unspoken questions and mounting frustration. After Kiyomi's loss against Adalina, they had decided to delve into her background. Hours of research yielded nothing, deepening the mystery around her.
"There's absolutely nothing on her," Kiyomi muttered, rubbing her temples in exasperation.
JacQuarius, sitting across from her, clenched his fists. "We're missing something. This Bitch couldn't have just appeared out of nowhere."
Determined to get answers, JacQuarius grabbed his phone and dialed the number for Mrs. Garcia, the FBI Director. The phone rang twice before she answered.
"Mrs. Garcia, I need information on someone named Adalina in the enlistment tournament. Anything you can find," JacQuarius said, his voice edged with urgency.
Mrs. Garcia sighed on the other end. "JacQuarius, we have no records of anyone by that name. I'll look into it, but I can't promise anything."
JacQuarius hung up, feeling a surge of anger. "I don't trust this bitch," he said, tossing his phone onto the couch.
He stood up abruptly, his mind made up. "I'm going to Adalina's house. I need answers now."
"Be careful," Kiyomi called after him, worry evident in her voice.
JacQuarius arrived at Adalina's house, his steps purposeful and his heart pounding with anticipation. He knocked on the door, and it swung open to reveal Adalina, who smiled upon seeing him.
Ignoring her smile, JacQuarius strode past her into the house and sat on the couch in the living room before she could even invite him in. Adalina closed the door, leaving it unlocked, and followed him, sitting beside him.
"What do you want from me?" he demanded, his voice sharp.
Adalina looked confused. "What do you mean?"
JacQuarius transmitted a message to Kiyomi, then looked back at Adalina with a frustrated glare. "I know what you did in your fight with Kiyomi. The soldier helped you by breaking Kiyomi's terrain skill. You used Kiyomi's defeat as a hit to try and anger me."
Adalina smiled, a hint of amusement in her eyes. "What you're saying makes sense, but I didn't do anything. I just want your acknowledgment!"
JacQuarius stood up, his anger escalating. "How is hurting my friends going to help with that? Wait....That's it! I know what you are now!"
Adalina's heart dropped. She felt exposed but managed to keep her composure. "What do you mean? What am I?"
He paused, his expression changing to one of shock and fear. "You're a spy sent by Daniel to watch me!"
"You're a spy!" JacQuarius shouted, his voice echoing through the room. In a swift motion, he activated his skill, Omega Wyvern Strike, transforming his hand into a dragon claw and slashing at Adalina.
Adalina barely dodged the attack, but JacQuarius was relentless, slashing at her repeatedly, forcing her to retreat towards her own bedroom. She knew if she fought back then this small argument would evolve into a large scale battle risking disqualification from the enlistment tournament, so she continued to dodge.
"Where the hell is my family?!" JacQuarius cried, his voice cracking with desperation.
Adalina, genuinely confused, finally managed to speak between dodges. "JacQuarius, I have no idea what you're talking about. Please, let's talk this out. I can help you."
JacQuarius paused his attacks, breathing heavily. Adalina exhaled a sigh of relief and sat on her bed, still wary. JacQuarius suddenly dived into her arms, hugging her tightly and beginning to cry.
"Adalina, I really miss my family," he sobbed.
Adalina's heart softened, and she hugged him back. "It's okay. I'm here for you. You can talk to me."
At that moment, JacQuarius received a transmission from Kiyomi. He stopped crying and smiled. He got up, kissed Adalina on the lips, and said, "I'm sorry for today. I'll talk to you later."
Adalina was left shocked and confused as JacQuarius left the room. She sat there for a moment, processing what had just happened. Suddenly, she noticed something peculiar—her shirt wasn't wet. Realization dawned on her: she had been played.
She jumped up from the bed and hurried to the front door, peeking out the window beside it. She saw JacQuarius walking away with Kiyomi back to his house. Feeling her gaze, JacQuarius turned around and gave her a sinister smile before turning back to Kiyomi.
"I held her off for longer than intended," JacQuarius said to Kiyomi. "Was your part successful?"
Kiyomi nodded, a determined look on her face. "Yes, everything went according to plan."
As they walked back to their house, JacQuarius couldn't shake the feeling of unease. Adalina had been too easy to manipulate, and he knew there was more to her than she was letting on. They needed to stay vigilant and be ready for whatever came next.
Back at her house, Adalina paced her living room, her mind racing. JacQuarius's behavior had been erratic and intense, but his final smile unsettled her the most. He was up to something, and she needed to figure out what it was before it was too late.
The next morning, as the first light of dawn crept through the windows, JacQuarius, Kiyomi, and Tela gathered again to discuss their findings and plan their next steps.
"She's definitely hiding something," Kiyomi said, her voice filled with determination. "We need to keep digging."
JacQuarius nodded. "Agreed. But we have to be careful. She's not someone to be underestimated."
Tela, who had been quietly observing, finally spoke up. "We need to think ahead. If she is a spy, then we need to figure out why she's been planted here. We need to figure out who and why."
As they strategized, the weight of the situation settled over them. The stakes were higher than ever, and they couldn't afford any mistakes. JacQuarius's mind kept drifting back to Adalina's confused expression, wondering if there was a kernel of truth in her denial.
Hours later, as JacQuarius stood alone on the balcony, his thoughts were interrupted by a soft beep from his communicator. It was a message from Mrs. Garcia: "I've found something. Check your email for the report."
JacQuarius felt a surge of adrenaline. He knew that whatever Mrs. Garcia had uncovered could be the key to unraveling the mystery surrounding Adalina. He turned back to rejoin Kiyomi and Tela, ready to head back to Mount Blackie For Tela's match.
