Akai was smashed into the cold hard wall with the devastating blow from the monster. She fell on a metal rode which pierced through her guts; all bones in her body broke. Her broken ribs pierced her lungs. She did not move, she was…..not breathing.
Maria stopped Ali from going any further by holding onto him from his waist. "Please, please don't leave", she cried and begged him, "don t go! She said us to move forward! Please"
"I know", he was furious, "I know!" walls of tears built in his eyes. This wasn't fare, why did she have to end up like that? Why wasn't he in her place? He regretted every second of it. He has to go to her, now. No, he should have stayed behind instead.
"She said that before didn't she? That even if anything should happen to her, we must keep moving forward", she cried tightening her grip around his waist, "please! Think again. If we die here then her sacrifice will have been for nothing!"
"Sacrifice…" Ali stopped moving and went silent. Maria looked up with concern. Ali patted her hand softly, signaling her that he was okay. Maria let go of him. Ali walked passed her looking grim and carried one of the children, "we should move go. There must be an exist here"
Maria wasn't relieved nonetheless, now they had to escape no matter what, so that Akai's death doesn't go in vain. Both of them harden their emotions and moved on in the long hallways.
On the other hand, the giant beast burst through the blocked door. It was now going after them both, now, that it finished with one of them.
While looking for an exist Ali and Maria came cross many who were trapped in this building. They were badly injured, almost loosing hope until Ali had rescued them. He fought alone, defeating all the monsters that he came in front of them.
Maria could see his pain. However she couldn't do anything to make him feel better, not that she was any good either. Loosing was Akai was the worst that could have ever happened.
She inwardly cursed herself for stopping Ali to go any close to the room when Akai was attacked, the attack which eventually killed her. She watched Ali as he killed the monsters without any emotions.
She bit her bottom lips to stop the tears from falling. The little children around her tightened their grips on her cloths.
"There should be an exit around here", he finally said, "We came across many windows, too. The building is tall and we must at the third or fourth floor", opening one of the widows he was able to see the outside.
His blond hair almost turned red with blood from killing monsters and his eyes lost their shine like a dead person. He didn't know how to react to what had happened to Akai. Was she really gone? Why didn't he save her at that time? Why? Why wasn't he able to do anything to protect her?
"When can we go home?" asked little boy looking all worried.
Maria bent down, "very soon little boy", said with her soft voice. Everyone was overjoyed to hear that.
Ali watched the people he had saved. They were all so happy to be rescued. The children laughed, and the adults felt relief.
Nonetheless, his face refused to even fake a smile.
"I need to get out fast", he thought as he clenched the iron rod with which he fought the monsters, "we should get going", he said to them.
Everyone agreed. They hurried to find an exit soon. They ran down few stairs and when they finally came across what looked like an exit.
Something crashed down from the ceiling above and landed in front of the exit. The feeling of dread took over Ali as he hardened his grip at his iron rod. Maria covered her mouth with her both hands in fear. The others stepped back.
The giant beast that killed Akai had finally caught up to them. it was smiling showing its big teeth, it stood up.
Ali glared at the beast, his blood boiling hot. "Killing akai wasn't enough?" he said to the beast, "now you come after us?" as he said he also signaled everyone behind him to move to the sides and not make any sound.
he picked up a piece of stone from the ground and threw it the opposite side to attract the monster.
It worked. The beast turned its head toward the noise, its massive, fur-covered form shifting with a guttural growl as it took a step in the direction of the thrown stone. Ali motioned for everyone to inch their way to the sides, their footsteps as light as possible. The tension was palpable, breaths held in tight, as they tried to avoid the creature's notice.
The beast sniffed the air, its sharp claws scraping the floor. It was a matter of moments before it would turn back to them. Ali's heart pounded in his chest as he silently urged everyone to move faster. Maria's hands trembled as she inched along the wall, and the others followed, their eyes never leaving the beast.
Just when it seemed they might slip past unnoticed, a faint clatter echoed from behind them—someone had accidentally kicked a loose piece of debris. The beast's head jerked up, its long, sensitive ears twitching as it pinpointed the sound. Without warning, it lunged toward Ali with terrifying speed, guided by the noise rather than sight.
Ali barely had time to react. He swung his iron rod, aiming for where the beast's head would be, but the creature was faster. It dodged his strike, its massive claw slamming into Ali's side with bone-crushing force. Pain exploded through his body as he was thrown across the room, crashing into the wall with a sickening thud.
Maria let out a muffled scream, her hands still over her mouth as she watched in horror. Ali tried to push himself up, gasping for breath, but his vision blurred from the pain. The beast let out a low, guttural growl, sensing its prey had been wounded. It began to stalk toward him, sniffing the air, while the others looked on in paralyzed fear.
Ali could barely move, but he forced himself to raise his head, his grip still tight on the iron rod. He couldn't let the creature reach the others, not after everything. With a strained breath, he gritted his teeth, preparing to make one final stand.
Ali, clutching his side, winced in pain but managed to sit up. The beast was closing in, its nose twitching as it sniffed the air, trying to locate him. Ali knew he had to act fast. Gritting his teeth, he grabbed a nearby piece of debris and slammed it against the floor. The loud clang echoed through the room, drawing the beast's attention immediately.
"Hey, over here!" Ali shouted, his voice hoarse but strong. The creature's head snapped toward him, and it started lumbering in his direction, following the sound. Ali banged the debris against the floor again, louder this time, keeping the monster's focus solely on him.
"Go! Get out of here now!" he yelled to the others. He turned his head slightly, his eyes locking onto Maria and the rest of the group, who were still frozen in place.
Maria hesitated, her eyes wide with fear. "Ali…"
"Go!" Ali barked, forcing all the strength he had left into his voice. "Don't let this thing kill you too. Just get out, now!"
The others exchanged a brief glance before nodding, finally springing into action. They moved as quietly as they could toward the door, staying low to the ground. Ali kept making noise, his hands trembling from pain as he continued to strike the ground with whatever he could find, drawing the beast ever closer to him.
The creature, guided by the sounds, ignored the others as they made their way to the exit. It growled deeply, baring its massive teeth as it advanced on Ali.
Just as Ali thought his time had run out, the beast came to a sudden halt, mere inches from him. Its massive jaws hung open, its claws scraping the floor, but it didn't strike.
Ali froze, hardly daring to breathe. His heartbeat pounded in his ears, but the creature didn't move. He could feel its hot breath on his skin, and every second stretched into what felt like an eternity.
Why did it stop? Ali wondered, trying to understand. He cautiously shifted his weight, preparing to defend himself if necessary, but the monster didn't react. Instead, it was slowly falling to the ground.
Meanwhile, Kairos hovered in mid-air, his chest rising and falling rapidly as he caught his breath. The battle had been brutal. The demon before him snarled, its dark, twisted form pulsating with energy, its wings beating furiously as it tried to regain the upper hand.
Kairos' sword gleamed in his hand, crackling with a soft, radiant light that contrasted the demon's shadowy aura. Blood trickled down his arm, mixing with the sweat and dirt of the fight. He stared at the demon, his eyes narrowed with a fierce determination, as they circled each other in the sky.
Just moments ago, they had clashed violently, their powers shaking the very air around them. Kairos had barely dodged the demon's jagged claws, and his sword had grazed its wing, leaving a dark, smoking wound. But now, they were both paused, locked in a tense standoff, as if waiting for the other to make the next move.
Kairos tilted his head slightly, a mocking grin spreading across his face. "I thought you knew what that little girl was, because you've been watching for past three months now" he scoffed, his voice dripping with sarcasm. He twirled his sword playfully in the air, as if the battle wasn't worth taking seriously anymore. "Aren't demons supposed to be all-knowing? Or did you bite off more than you can chew? She will survive"
The demon's reaction was almost imperceptible, its true feelings hidden behind a dark, ornate mask. But even with the mask concealing its face, its actions betrayed its unease. The demon's shoulders tensed, its movements becoming erratic as if wrestling with an inner turmoil. Its head turned sharply, glancing over its shoulder toward the building where Akai and the others were.
Kairos observed the demon's subtle shifts, understanding that the mask was no barrier to his perceptiveness. He saw the fear and uncertainty in its stiffened posture and hurried, jagged movements. A hint of satisfaction crossed his face as he realized his taunts had struck a chord.
"I've been holding back this whole time," Kairos muttered to himself. "5% was a waste on you."
With renewed determination, he extended his hand, summoning a massive surge of energy. The air around him crackled with raw power as he channeled every ounce of his strength, his aura blazing with intense light. "I should've increased it from the start."
The demon, though its face hidden behind the mask, could not escape the overwhelming force. It recoiled as Kairos unleashed his full power, the sky erupting with brilliance as the energy surged. With a powerful roar, Kairos struck at the demon with a force it had never anticipated, driving it back and forcing it to grapple with the unexpected surge of might.
