Gojo and Grisella waited and watched as the coach approached nearby. As soon as the coach neared the area the goblin mage made a shrill cry and the goblins on the wolves and foot charged at the coach. This was their signal to attack.
As soon as the wolf riding goblins charged for the armed gaurds, Gojo and Grisella commenced their attack.
Gojo gathered a lot of sharp flints and hurled them at the group of five goblins. Two of the goblins were heavily injured. Before the goblins could turn back he unleashed another bunch of flints at them.
Grisella charged at the goblins and immediately struck one of them on the neck with her sword. The goblin fell to the ground bleeding. Gojo also rushed at them bashing one of them with a rock.
They were soon met with arrows. The goblin archers had taken notice of them and two were firing arrows at them. Although Gojo's infinity blocked many of them, one of the arrows cut through Grisella's hair and struck nearby tree.
" Grisella, hide behind a tree, I will take out the archers. " Gojo shouted and stepped forward to face the archers.
Using lapse blue technique he aimed at the eyes and hurled several pebbles. He managed to blind both of them and they fell from the tree. As soon as the attack of the archers stopped Grisella came out from behind the and joined Gojo I'm his onslaught.
But soon the goblin mage took notice of them. He charged at Gojo and Grisella with his staff. Gojo hurled several stones at him but he managed to dodge them and continued charging.
" Maybe he is using fortitude ." said Grisella.
Fortitude meant that lapse blue technique as of now would be of no use against the goblin mage. If only he had six eyes. The goblin mage raised it's staff and pointed towards Gojo. He started to wave the staff. Small leaves started floating in the air.
Suddenly, the mage stopped waving the staff and pointed it again at him. Most of the leaves stopped due to infinity, a few others pierced a nearby tree like knives. The mage was Most likely casting fortitude spells on the leaves.
Grisella offered to help him but Gojo declined it. He would defeat the mage by himself.
He concentrated on the mage's movements. Suddenly everything around him slowed down. He could easily read his opponents movements and he saw the flow energy in his opponents body. Then he knew that he had awakened the six eyes.
He then started concentrating all his energy at his right hand and waited for the goblin mage to approach. As soon as the mage came in his striking range he punched the mage on his face with his right hand.
His punch created a black flash of energy as he heard the sound of the mage's bones cracking and the impact caused the goblin's head get separated from it's body. The mage was dead.
As soon as the attack ended Gojo vomited and felt dizzy. He almost collapsed on the ground but Grisella managed to drag him back with her.
Later that evening James Alkorn, the current head of the Alkorn family stood at the balcony of his mansion. He had been notified about the attack on the horse carriage by the goblins.
His youngest daughter who was the carriage was unharmed. Only two of the armed gaurds received light injuries in the attack. Bur strangely enough they reported about several other goblin corpses littering the scene which weren't slain by them.
In addition to that his daughter claimed at seeing a black flash of magical energy in the forests during the attack.
Was this a bad omen ? Was someone plotting something malicious in his territory he thought.
The territory of the duchy of Alkorn was located far from the imperial capital of Ravenna. Thus the imperial court had little to no influence in these territories. As a result the duke had to contend with smugglers, bandits, anarchists and rival nobles frequently.
Recently he had heard about a large number of horned rabbits, rats and goblins being being found dead near the forests of Seldis.
He looked up at the night sky and thought of what actions he needs to take next.
