Two and a half years passed since the goblin attack. That was the first large scale attack that Gojo faced in this world.
Both Gojo and Grisella increased their levels since the attack. Lapse blue technique and infinity had risen to level 5 and six eyes had risen to level 2. Since the usage of six eyes drained him of his energy he rarely used it.
Gojo started covering his eyes with a piece of black cloth. This did gain the attention of the sisters. Sister Isabel even went to ask him
" Why do always cover your eyes these days ? Are you up to something ?"
Gojo shrugged his shoulders and replied
" No I am not upto something. I am just training myself. "
Isabel gave him a slight glare at him and said " Well, I don't know what you are upto, but don't do anything dangerous. Am I clear ?"
Gojo with a smile on his face nodded his head. Grisella had also asked him the same question. He told that he would explain everything to her later.
Their training had been going on smoothly. Grisella had mastered her basic sword skills. Her stamina and balance had improved greatly. Both of them hunted a lot of goblins whenever they got a chance.
One day Gojo was going through the market place, he was running some errands for the orphanage. He went to the fruit seller to buy some fruits. He overheard the fruit seller conversing with a local villager.
" Are you sure about what you saw ?" asked Roswell the fruit seller.
" Yes there were a lot of goblin footprints along the path that I took, when I went to fetch water in the morning. " said the local villager.
" Sounds bad, will there be a goblin raid ?" asked Roswell. He looked pretty nervous.
" Based on how things are looking like, I think there is a possibility of a goblin raid. " replied the villager.
" Goblin raid ?" asked Gojo.
Roswell turned his attention towards him and said " Oh isn't it our James or should I call you Gojo ?"
Due to his good behavior Roswell liked Gojo. Sometimes if he ran into some trouble in the market place Roswell would always have his back.
" As you have already heard, there is the possibility of a goblin attack. So be careful, don't venture out at night and keep all doors and windows. " Roswell went on " I hope that Toth doesn't face any losses if an attack does happen."
Gojo had heard about goblin raids. The goblins used raid villages and small towns occasionally. One unspoken rule during a goblin raid was that never to venture out and keep all doors and windows shut.
If someone was unfortunate enough to be outside would be brutally killed. The goblins did not spare any men, women and children. One could be safe from from the raid by staying inside their the whole time as long as
there were no hobgoblin. Hobgoblins were the last one would expect during a goblin raid.
Seldis was raided twice by goblins. No one was killed in the raids although during the second raid a man was wounded by an arrow when he was peeking through his window. The goblins just stole all the livestock in the village and left.
Toth was the only villager who owned a poultry. All his poultry were stolen in the past raids but he managed to recover from them quickly thanks to the financial help provided by the villagers.
The last attack occurred fourteen years ago. Since no one died in the raids the villagers were quite calm about the attack.
Later that day Gojo along with Grisella went to check on the goblin footprints. Just like the villager said there were footprints. As they were looking at the footprints Gojo noticed a big pair of footprints.
So there were hobgoblins along with the goblins. By now Grisella had also taken notice of the footprints.
" I think we should notify the sisters about this. " said Grisella.
" No need to do that. We will kill the hobgoblin. " said Gojo.
" Are you joking ? I am talking about a hobgoblin not a normal one. " said an annoyed Grisella.
" Grisella, I understand your concern. But as you kno I am the strongest. I will figure out a way to deal with them. " Gojo replied.
Grisella was still not convinced however decided to follow Gojo's planning.
Following the footprints they managed to reach a goblin camp. There they saw dozens of goblins resting within their rashly built tents while others were guarding the camp. At middle of the camp stood a well built goblin with red marks on it's jead. He was probably the leader of the camp.
Gojo used his lapse blue technique to gather some rocks and used it to level down the tents just like he leveled many buildings during his fight with Toji. Many goblins got crushed in the process and those that managed to escape were badly wounded.
Grisella rushed at the wounded goblins cutting down all of them with her sword while Gojo took on the leader.
He rushed at the leader but the leader went around him at a flash and struck at his back. However infinity protected him. Gojo reacted quickly Turning around grabbing the leader by his hand and hurling him to the ground. He then pounced on the goblin and started punching him furiously.
He punched till the leader stopped moving. He was dead.
After finishing the goblins Gojo and Grisella looked around for a while but couldn't find any other goblin camps and returned to the orphanage. There they waited for night to come.
