The building had three storeys that levelled out with red-tiled roofs in the middle of the roof was a tall tower that protruded from the building. It had an open window that showed shadowy pieces of metal that could be deciphered as a large bell that hung in the tower. I looked at the building with nostalgia mixed with resentment. Something clicked in my mind like weird Déjà vu, I hastened to take a step forward to feel a sharp wind cut behind my thighs as I staggered nearly hitting the gravel. My single hand pressed on the ground before slowly lifting myself up to turn to stare at the car that stopped centimetres ahead at an angle. "Are you okay?" the man's face popped from the rear view window slowly revealing more of his face. The sound of the driver's door opening followed with an immediate slam, I saw a guy slightly older than me but wearing the school varsity jacket approach. He franticly looked up and down for any sign of harm before approaching a few steps. "Are you okay?" he asked. "I'm fine… I'm fine!" I clearly announced with my eyes meeting the father sitting in the passenger seat. "Oh, that's great, sorry about that. Brad, no more until you get your license." My eyes peered at the face that heightened into an emotional protest that collapsed into quiet shame. I slowly shuffled away from the parking lot, the voice of the son just saying an apology would die down as I walked further through the parking lot. I noticed a crowd was watching the incident from the large steps and near the parking lot, the small attention on that began to fade caused me to feel embarrassed. The school corridors were loud with students standing near the walls among friends in discussions while crowders would filter between the loiters towards their destinations. I walked between a group of students from higher a grade, and between steps, I could feel my neck craned slightly forward and my feet shuffled closely. A confidence from the older me bloomed in my young vessel as I raised my neck with my upper body relaxed with my feet stepping clearly on the floors. My eyes were once lingering on the floor seeing the tattered edges of my jeans, I could see faces from my past. One face speaking to a friend leaning on the column from the low wall before a courtyard was a classmate. A guy walking before me turned to the right to approach a staircase. My throat caught a lump noticing his frizzy blonde hair and his weird strawberry methanol smell. I could feel the air entering through my airways get choked out by my growing panic that felt like a frog attempting to leap out from my throat. My body jerked forward feeling my shoulder slam against someone. I will run along with the stumbled velocity into a scurried jog past a few bodies towards the nearest toilet past the open corridor. The toilet was shielded from the loud noise from the corridor, I stepped towards the nearest toilet stall to fall onto the the toilet seat. The toilet door slammed before me my head staring at the floor hearing my heart slowly seep back into my chest. My eyes lost blur verberated by the heightened anxiety that is calmed with her. My single hand pressed a palm on the toilet door lightly would reached for the doorknob hearing the scuffle of shoes near her stall. My eyes will notice the edges of a shadow linger on the floor beside the stall from the edges of the wall. I watched the shadow move by the sound of the hinges out before the basins, I caught the sight of black soles attached to dark red velvet leather. The water crashed onto the basin, the water fell weakly in drips between intervals before the tap was turned off. I heard the person leave with the door slamming behind, I slowly rose from the toilet seat. My hand resting firmly on the door would push out with my approaching body out into the open area. I took a few steps towards the basin but noticed a lingering figure caused my eyes to shift with a jolt. Red hair twisted in curls, wearing school uniform but her skirt was a dark navy instead of blue. Her long legs were tightly wrapped in black tights that revealed a vague mesh of her pale skin that dangled from the edge of the sink with her velvet boots swinging ever so slightly. I walked towards the sink pulling my eyes away from her to avoid inciting an interaction. "What were you doing in there?" the question was delivered with a cheery interest. I could ignore it and move along. "Nothing…" "Ah… ahaa" she sighs feeling her eyes look at me more intently. "Are you pregnant?" "Would that satisfy your curiosity," I snapped back. Her face pulled back from the tone but her lips curved into a smile with her eyes sharping into a piercing stare. "Oh… tell me? Am I getting closer?" The girl sitting on the sink leaning slightly forward and staring at me made me want to scream in every emotion because that bitch is back in my life.
