The next day we continued on our journey to our destination, we must have crossed hundreds of miles in the first day alone.
'How far could it be if grandfather said it would take five whole days to arrive?'
After another few hours of flying far in the distance I caught sight of what appeared to be a massive ring of snow white pillars. As we approached Grandmother descended down towards it, I started to make out a design on the marble floor the the gigantic pillars stood on.
We landed some distance in front of the structure at the start of a cobbled pathway, on either side unique and disturbingly life like statues of two dragons stood as if they were the overseer's of the temple.
It felt like though the statues where made of pure marble the eyes watched my every step. As we slowly walked down the road towards the temple I looked up at the imposing pillars that towered above us.
The temple was made up of eight pillars, in each of the four cardinal directions the pillars were at least twice the size of the other four. The whole structure emitted waves of magical energy as though each pillar held great power.
At my side both my sisters gazed at the temple in awe, while Grandmother continued forward as though this sight was entirely normal.
With each step we took I could feel the mana in the air growing stronger.
As we reached the edge of the temple I saw that in the center was a enormous mosaic on the floor that depicted a dragon with encircling what could only be our world Eringale. Its scales the mostly brilliant gold I had ever seen, at its back and around the entire perimeter of the temple were depictions of the foul forms of the Dagarath.
No two were the same some more humanoid while others resembled beasts that could only be seen in your worst nightmares.
As grandmother strode into the structure she turned to look as my siblings and I and said "Enter one at a time. Valorian you will go first."
We each nodded in understanding then I slowly made my way inside, as I passed the threshold it felt like some outside force was probing my very soul. As if it was trying to sense something, after only a moment it dissipated and I was able to enter with no other interference.
Seeing this grandmother nodded in approval then directed me towards the center of the temple where the depiction of Eringale was. As I walked over the golden dragon I looked down realizing that it was made of solid gold, and now that I was closer I could see that it was turned ever so slightly away showing the nape of its neck.
There I saw the same image as was depicted on the temple floor, only that the Dagarath were not present.
"What you see before you is a depiction of our lord and progenitor, and the mark on his nape that you are studying is none other that the mark of domination that you share." Grandmother said looking down at me.
I quickly refocused, continuing my walk to the center of the temple. As I came to a stop at the center of the temple grandmother stopped and said "When you arrive do not leave the altar that you appear on, your sisters and I will be along shortly."
I looked at her with a hint of confusion trying to understand her meaning, until suddenly each of the eight pillars started to glow with a blinding light, I quickly shut my eyes then after a moment I felt space warp around me.
After a moment I felt the feeling of solid ground again, the blinding light receding. As I opened my eyes before me laid vast open sky's I stood on a replica of the temple that I had been at just a moment before. Only this one stood on a floating island in the sky, all around were other floating islands seemingly empty.
After my initial shock and awe of being transported to an unknown location I quickly recovered and walked to the edge of the temple waiting for my family as grandmother instructed.
After a few minutes the temple once again shown with a librarian light and after only a moment Apollonia appeared at the center of the temple looking starstruck.
After looking around for a moment she caught sight of me and quickly made her way over to my side.
"Brother that was amazing! where do you think we are?" She asked.
"I do not know, but I can only assume that we will soon find out sister." I replied.
Again after a few minutes the temple lit up the sky and this time Corentine appeared at the center of the temple, although she did not seem as outwardly amazed as Apollonia was, and she immediately made her way over to us standing silently at my side.
Next grandmother finally appeared and made her way over to us with a passive look as though this was an entirely normal occurrence.
"Welcome to the realm of the dragons." Grandmother said as she approached us.
'I had no idea that such a place even existed.'
"Follow me, from here on we will not rest until we have reached our destination." Grandmother said.
we all nodded and took flight to follow grandmother, as we soared through the seemingly endless sky's filled with countless floating islands the hours melded together and soon enough three days had passed.
Off in the distance I caught sight of the largest floating island I had seen so far, as we grew closer I saw the structure built atop. It looked like a grand Colosseum and just like the temple before on the edge of the area where eight pillars.
