In the heavens, A delicate female figure awakened, her eyes gently fluttering open and her slim delicate figure stirred on the fluffy golden bed. Her forehead was adorned in a delicate red drawing of the earth globe and seven worlds. Her long silky black hair was carefully adorned with golden ornaments. Her monolid eyes were designed with the drawing of a fierce dragon and her golden pupils shone bright like the sun.
"Your majesty, you're awake"a small maiden entered the room and rushed over to help her out of her bed.
"Tell me umi, what has the counsel been planning while I've been in meditation" her voice was like the calm spring waters that flowed through and into the seven seas.
"The counsel of heaven have gathered to deliberate on the matter of the hanging life of a young woman whose life is stuck between the gate to the seven worlds" The Maiden bowed as she spoke.
The beautiful woman stepped down from the stairs and stretched out her arms sideways. A large white golden robe gently descended over her and she put down her arms.
"Hmmm..send word to the counsel, I will sit to head this matter" she waved as an invisible force gently raised her from the ground and carried into the air and out of the room.
"Humans love to play God" she chuckled lightly as she moved in the air, maneuvering her way through the large hallways of the Golden buildings.
Faye fell asleep sitting with her back against the wall and her head laying on her knees. She had refused to go to bed even after putting Daisuke to sleep.
"My name is Faye and you?"
"René, I'll call you fay fay"
"Your eyes are pretty"
"Thank you"
"Do you live around here"
"No my daddy and i are here on vacation"
"Can I touch your wings?"
"Sure, only if you agree to let me carry you off into the air"
"Okay"
"I'm going to fall René"
"Just stay calm,you won't"
"René!! Save me! I'm falling!"
"Nooo!!"
Faye jerked awake from her sleep sweating. What kind of dream was that?
The girl in her dream was her 8 year old self and a younger René.
"Faye…" she looked up to see René standing at the door. She staggered up to her feet. René rushed to her and held her in his arms, steadying her from behind. She turned to look up at him.
"Are you mad at me? I'm sorry, I should have listened to you" she said sleepily, rubbing her eyes.
René's eyes widened, he had half expected her to tell and throw stuff at him demanding an explanation of today's events.
It was past midnight and the full moon's light shone down at them through the open window. She looked as beautiful as the first time he saw her. Her face had never changed.
He enveloped her in a warm bear hug, he'd really missed her scent.
"I love you, i really love you and I'm sorry" he repeatedly said kissing every part of her face.
"I love you too " she said as he kissed her lips.
He gently let her go and turned to the sleeping child that laid on the bed. He walked over to him, bent down and gently kissed him on the forehead.
"Let's go to bed, i have a lot to tell you" he wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
"It's okay, we don't need to talk about it now, i missed you" she wrapped her arms around his waist and smiled up at him. She was still sleepy and she really didn't want to talk about it yet. She really wasn't sure she was ready to hear whatever it was.
Hokkaido.
"Honey, I've got good news" Kenzo Nakamura gently kissed his wife's forehead.
She was sitting up in a hospital bed with a scarf wrapped around her head. They were dark circles under her eyes.
"I found our daughter. I found our Faye" the man said with tears glistening in his eyes.
The woman's eyes lit up, her health was deteriorating these days and this was the best news she had received in years.
"Can I see her please? My daughter, my baby" she looked at him expectedly.
"Soon my love, soon" he gently wrapped her in a warm hug.
She had dedicated her whole life to loving and helping him grow in every aspect of their lives. She had been the best decision he had made his entire life.
He had been burying himself in his work and also dividing his time to care for his wife at the hospital until he'd suddenly gotten a call from an unknown stranger that had told him, they knew where his daughter was and how he could meet her. He didn't want to believe it but every information the stranger had about his daughter's identity was correct. They had even mentioned the incident from 13 years ago.
He was going to fulfill his wife's one wish, to meet their daughter again.
René held Faye's hand and carried Daisuke with his other hand as they walked downstairs. They were still at the penthouse. Faye turned to look at René when she saw the strange man that sat in the large living room.
He looked elegant, wealthy and Somehow, his face flashed in her head.
"Hello.." the man smiled kindly at them when they finally sat down.
"Faye.." René called gently, putting his large palm over her small palm placed on her thigh.
"This is Kenzo Nakamura…." He hesitated. Secrets were about to fly open now and it scared him in a terrifying way. "Your father" he said and Faye stood up to her feet in surprise.
"I-i… i have a father?" She asked confused, tears glistening in her eyes.
Tanaka who stood by the door wondered how it was so easy for her to cry. It was a ridiculous thought but it was always like she had her tears on standby.
"I-I don't understand…I" she stuttered, stumbled and sat back down. The older man stood up and started to walk towards her. He stopped in his tracks unsure of what to do next.
She stood up again and slowly approached the older man. He opened his arms and embraced her.
"Little bun" the man sobbed patting her back.
The name sounded familiar and her head started to hurt. She felt dizzy, her vision became blurry.
"Faye?! Darling" Kenzo shook his daughter but she was unresponsive.
"She's unconscious! Hospital now!" he shouted, his voice was powerful and his tone commanding, so much it startled the mafia boss himself.
René rushed forward and lifted her into his arms, carrying her out of the house.
"Tanaka!! Get the car" René was exhausted mentally and physically but this, everything happening was all his fault and he didn't know what to do anymore. Actually he knew what to do but the journey wasn't going to be an easy one.
One mistake in the past was now too much to bear. He had never been this drained in his life, the same as he had never been so in love and cared about anyone this much.
René paced up and down in the hospital hallway and Kenzo watched him. He was restless,he looked exhausted and worried.
"Mr Tokugawa, ur wife is stable now" he turned around to find the doctor standing behind him with an assuring smile. It had turned out to be that Faye passed out from mental and physical exhaustion and she had also been on an empty stomach for more than 24 hours.
René walked into the ward Faye was laying with a frown, but the moment he saw her laying in the bed looking very disheveled, his frown disappeared. Her eyes looked dead behind their sockets and when she saw him, she turned on her side and looked away.
He quietly sat beside her and Kenzo sat in a chair against the wall. He looked sad, this wasn't really the Reunion he had hoped for. His daughter was now a woman with a child and even when no one told him, he felt it, he knew she must have been through alot.
"A-Are you okay?" René stuttered, he'd never been this insecure in his entire life.
She neither responded nor moved from where she laid.
The silence in the room was deafening. She sat up and looked out the window of the ward. They were on the 20th floor. Without looking at neither of the men in the room, she asked.
"Is there something you're not telling me?"
René's heartbeat accelerated, he feared the worst but he had seen this moment coming. His father had warned him. But he was a stubborn man, A stubborn man in love.
"You should get some rest first" he looked down at his feet ashamed. Kenzo walked over to Faye, kissed her forehead and took Daisuke from René before walking out and leaving them alone.
René had taken the risk of explaining everything to him, except the supernatural part of it involved and even though he was not so happy, the past was the past. All he wanted right now was to get his family back together and complete. If the mafia boss was going to explain himself, he didn't want to be around to be dragged into it,he didn't want to be hit by unintentional stray bullets, he knew women better, he had walked his prime with one.
There was complete silence in the room and René wished it'd all pass away like a bad dream. His palms became sweaty and right now she scared him alot.
She turned her head to look at him, there was a mixture of doubt, anger and years of pain swimming in her eyes that glistened with tears that streamed her cheeks uncontrolled. Her brows were twisted in an angry frown.
"Please…I-I" he stuttered, seeing her cry made him feel more helpless.
"What did you do?!" She yelled crying.
"What exactly is it you want from me? I've had a very miserable life because of you!" Why don't you just kill me and end it all" she got out of the bed and stood in front of him.
"René, All those times you took care of me, everything you've done for me and my son.." René sadly cut her short in the middle.
"Our son.." he tried to hold her but she backed away from him.
"Did you really ever even want to have a child?" She looked him in the eyes but got no response.
"Why can't I be happy too? Why is my life like this? Am I cursed?" She held her head and leaned against the wall.
"I'm sorry.."he tried to hold her again, not just because he wanted to comfort her. His heart was hurting too, he wanted to hold her because maybe it'd take the pain he was feeling away.
He couldn't even talk, he didn't know what to say or how to defend himself. He didn't know what exactly she knew but he knew sooner or later, he would have to summon the courage to bring it all out to the open.
She turned away from him. "Leave and don't come back."
Kenzo walked in with Daisuke crying. Faye tok the child from him and gently rubbed his back. Why was he crying? The child could sense the unhappy mood and tension.
"Go away René. Leave us alone." She sat down on the bed with the child in her arms.
The doctor walked in but sensing the tension offered to come back in a few minutes.
"Can I go home now?" She asked. The anger in her voice was evident and the doctor turned to look at René like he was seeking permission to discharge her. René nodded at him.
She really didn't want to be around René right now. She was hurting but the thing that hurt her most was the fact that she still wanted to be held by him, the fact she still loved him so much wanted to make her scream at the top of her voice, Scream all of the love away.
"How did I come to love a man who has made my life this miserable so much?" She thought to herself as she walked past him with the crying child on her shoulders.
She stopped halfway at the door and without turning to look at him, she sighed
"Kenji was right about you. You are really no different from him. All of you are no different" she walked out the door and Kenzo looked at René apologetically before he followed.
The doctor was next to leave the room, he didn't know what had happened but he could see and feel the pains of the man he had just left behind in that room. The mood was solemn and the air filled with tension so heavy you could cut right through.
René sighed as he sat down on the bed, his whole life was falling apart, his father wasn't joking when he told him he'd suffer for it all his life. He was suffering for it and not in the way he thought. It was worse than he thought. How did he end up like this? Hopelessly in love with the girl whose Destiny they had tampered with.
