Chereads / Fate: Faithful Knight. / Chapter 4 - 4. Morgan’s imaginary enemy

Chapter 4 - 4. Morgan’s imaginary enemy

The encounter under the moon is a wonderful node, and everything is still going on.

[Morgan kept the secret of the night raid on the princess's bedroom for you. No one knew that as a knight, you took away the princess's first night. ]

[She remembered your name and promoted you from a group of knights as her confidant. ]

[It's just that you have never seen Morgan's sad look like that night again, nor have you tasted her body again. ]

[She deliberately keeps a distance from you and never calls your name in public. The distance between you seems to always remain on the identity of a princess and a knight. ]

[You are a little sad, but you also know that all this is bound to happen. As a princess, Morgan cannot admit that she had fun with you all night long after drinking. ]

[Several months passed like this, until this day, she sent someone to find you. ]

  "Lord Knight."

Morgan's maid said respectfully to Ian in front of her.

"The princess has something to ask you for, and she hopes you will come over as soon as possible."

"Really?" Ian turned around, "I know, I'll go there now."

Walking through the corridor of the royal court, Ian stood in front of the door and knocked gently on the door that had changed his destiny.

"Who is it?" Morgan's voice came from inside.

"It's me, my lady, your knight Ian."

  "Come in."

With Morgan's permission, Ian opened the door.

Morgan was standing in front of the mirror, crossing his arms and looking at himself in it seriously.

  "Come here, Ian."

Although he didn't understand what Morgan was going to do, it was the knight's bounden duty to obey the princess's orders. Ian slowly walked to Morgan's side.

  "My Lady."

"Don't look at me, look in the mirror."

The simulation continued at Morgan's command.

[You looked into the mirror and saw a strange yet familiar face. ]

[You feel that she is similar to Morgan, but at the same time she has completely opposite qualities in every aspect. ]

[The scene in the mirror was very unstable and only lasted for a short period of time before disappearing. ]

[You realize that it may be Morgan's magic, but don't say much about it. ]

  "How about it?"

Morgan raised his head and looked at the tall knight beside him.

"The person you just saw, Ian, what was your first feeling?"

"My Lady, the so-called first feeling refers to…"

"The first word that comes to your mind," Morgan replied, "Ian, give me the answer now."

  "Understood."

Ian looked at the mirror that had returned to normal and replied.

"Then my answer is you, Princess."

  "I?"

"Yes, Your Majesty." Ian looked directly at Morgan, "I saw you in that mirror."

The corners of Morgan's mouth rose at first, but soon fell into gloom again.

  "Ian, you're lying."

"The person in the mirror is obviously not me."

"Yes, it is indeed not completely you." Ian did not deny what Morgan said.

"But because I see the part that is similar to you, and I only care about that part, for me, it is you, and you are it."

  "Ha." Morgan sneered.

"Ian, according to your statement, as long as there are similarities with me, you will regard that person as me and swear allegiance to him?"

"Is this what you call loyalty?"

"There is no such possibility." Ian then replied, "The knight's loyalty is only once, and my one time is already in your hands, the queen."

[Morgan is silent at your impeccable answer. ]

[She touched the mirror gently, causing the previous scene to appear again. ]

[She explains to you that this is magic, a magic that comes from her own research. ]

[You are convinced of this because you know that she is one of the few magicians in Britain who has the ability to challenge Merlin. ]

[You asked her who the person in the mirror was, but she got an answer that she didn't know either. ]

[You realize that she created a virtual imaginary enemy based on herself, which is why she has that specious face. ]

"My Lady, why do you do this?"

  Ian looked in the mirror.

"Non-existent enemies should cause you unnecessary trouble and should be wiped away."

"This is not a non-existent enemy, she..."

Halfway through his words, Morgan realized that he seemed to have missed something.

She turned her head away and changed her words: "It has nothing to do with you, Ian. You are just a knight. What you can know is up to me."

"That's true." Ian apologized, "Your Majesty, please forgive me for being rude."

  "..."

"I'm not angry." After adjusting his mood, Morgan didn't intend to dwell on it.

"Ian, for you, is it really just me that's your first reaction when you see the mirror?"

  "Yes, my lady."

Ian answered without hesitation. This is Morgan's favorite way of answering, which symbolizes loyalty and freedom from hypocrisy.

Morgan no longer had the same suspicion as before.

She sat on the edge of the bed and gave orders like a real king.

"Ian, get down on your knees."

With just these words, her knight half-knelt on the ground.

This absolute command brought an imperceptible smile to Morgan's face - but it quickly disappeared.

She opened her thin lips lightly:

"Ian, you didn't tell anyone about what happened that night, did you?"

"I never mentioned it to anyone."

  Morgan didn't doubt Ian's words.

After all, if he really told it, he might just lose his reputation, and he would disappear from the land of Britain.

  Morgan raised her feet slightly.

The slender and white jade feet stepped on Ian's forehead, pressing some marks on the surface of the skin.

This look of absolute sincerity seemed to satisfy Morgan. She continued:

"It seems that you are not completely stupid. At least you know how to save your own life."

"But I still want to tell you that to me, you are just the ashes after that night of joy, and they can be swept away at any time."

"I don't like you at all, and I will never have any feelings for you, because I don't need that kind of thing that gets in the way."

"Ian, tell me you understand this."

"Yes, I completely understand what you mean, My lady."

  "I deserve this."

[Morgan is very satisfied with your obedience as a knight, it seems to make her feel something untouchable. ]

[But this is not the whole reason why she called you here. ]

[She took out a sword from the darkness with her name engraved on it. ]

[She inserted the sword blade into your side. ]

[You realize that she may want you to do something again. ]
