Chereads / Apocalypse: A Gathering of Beauties in My Base / Chapter 24 - Lightning Ability

Chapter 24 - Lightning Ability

"Zap~Boom!" A visible current, as thick as chopsticks, shot directly from Dorothy's palm and hit the frying pan a meter away.

The frying pan was flipped over and fell to the ground.

Everyone was dumbfounded; this lightning ability was truly powerful.

This was only level one, and it could probably knock out an adult directly.

If it reached level nine, what kind of power would it have!

Dorothy was trembling with fear herself. Wasn't this ability too dangerous?

She looked at her palm repeatedly, unable to understand how this lightning was released. It was so magical!

"Dorothy, awakening this ability, no one will dare to bully you in the future. If anyone dares to, you just need to give them a zap, I guarantee they'll be tender on the outside and tender on the inside!" Dylan laughed, feeling happy for Dorothy. Inadvertently, this also added some strength to his side.

With this, Dorothy should be able to protect herself in emergencies.

As long as she mastered the lightning technique proficiently and raised her level in the future, she would definitely be an indispensable force.

Dorothy was extremely delighted. She had finally awakened an ability, so she wouldn't be a burden to Dylan anymore.

I not only have to handle the kitchen but also be able to handle the battlefield!

Dorothy remained in an excited state and tried to unleash the lightning two more times, but each time it was weaker than the last. She stopped only when she felt like her body had been emptied out.

The original frying pan was definitely unusable, so Dylan got her a new set.

Lunch was reheated leftovers from last night, and Dorothy made an extra bowl of chicken soup for Alberta.

As soon as Dylan tasted the food, he froze.

Whether it was an illusion or not, he felt like his mouth was popping like he had eaten popping candy.

Dylan looked at Dorothy, who was staring at his head in astonishment.

"What's wrong?" Dylan asked, puzzled.

"Your... your hair is all standing up!" Dorothy pointed to his head, asking in amazement.

Dylan quickly touched his hair, "Crackling," there was a sound of static electricity as soon as he touched it.

Oh man, it really is.

Alberta chuckled and picked up the bowl to take a sip of the chicken soup, then her expression suddenly froze.

Dorothy asked cautiously, "What's wrong, Alberta, doesn't it taste good?"

Alberta quickly put the bowl back on the table, surprised, "Dorothy, there's static electricity in this chicken soup!"

"Really? How come I didn't feel it just now?" Dorothy was somewhat incredulous.Dylan reached out his hand and placed it on Alberta's head, and her long hair actually stuck to Dylan's palm.

"Wow, this static electricity is quite strong. Dorothy, did you discharge again while cooking just now?" Dylan said helplessly, laughing.

Dorothy was caught red-handed and felt embarrassed, apologizing, "Um... hehe, I got distracted while cooking just now and didn't notice..."

Dylan and Alberta were speechless, "My goodness, you've got to go easy next time, this food nearly numbed our mouths!"

Dorothy blushed at being scolded, "Hehe, I'll definitely pay more attention next time, I promise!"

"Oh!" a crow's miserable cry came.

The three of them quickly looked towards the coal ball, only to see the little coal ball lying flat on the ground with its claws in the air.

Dylan hurried over to squat down and check. He saw its two black eyes spinning continuously, and there was a fresh pile of poop behind its tail.

Dylan reached out and picked it up, and there was a crackling sound from his fingertips. He looked up at Dorothy.

Dorothy nervously explained, "I... I thought it was thirsty, so I gave it some water."

...

The snow had stopped, and the temperature outside had risen to about minus 10 degrees Celsius. As long as most people had sufficient warmth, they wouldn't suffer as much.

When everyone was secretly glad that the disaster was about to end, another even bigger disaster struck.

From the streets covered in thick snow, a frozen blue hand suddenly emerged.

Slowly, a body, moving like a mechanical dance, gradually crawled out of the snowdrift.

This body was still wearing summer shorts, and it should have been frozen to death for several days, yet it somehow came back to life.

Its eyes were empty, its movements stiff, but there was a faint white light shining from its brow.

It stood there dumbly, swaying left and right, unsure of where to go.

In a small room in a hotel by the street, a female college student shivered under her blanket.

Underneath her bed was a cold corpse, her university boyfriend.

When the cold wave hit, they had just rented the room to discuss life together.

During their intense discussion, the temperature suddenly dropped sharply, and her boyfriend, sweating profusely, caught a cold.

As expected, her boyfriend didn't make it through three days, and his life ended.

She was scared, hopeless, but also helpless. Luckily, there were instant noodles and two bottles of mineral water in the room, so she wouldn't starve to death.

"G-g-g..." a hoarse sound came from the throat.

She nervously pulled back a corner of the blanket and saw her boyfriend standing up in a creepy posture.

Her mind went blank; wasn't he dead?

She was scared but also hoping for a miracle. She softly called out, "Honey?"The boyfriend suddenly turned around, his eyes empty, his face purple and expressionless.

"Ah!" she screamed in terror.

As if hearing some kind of summons, her boyfriend paused for a moment, then lunged straight at her, biting her throat.

On nearby streets, which were already crowded with these walking corpses, upon hearing screams, they all went madly rushing towards the source of the sound.

These scenes were unfolding in every corner of the world. Humanity, at this moment, had turned into a purgatory!

The zombie virus had officially erupted!

...

Inside Dylan's villa, the first thing the little coal ball did after waking up was to scream at Dorothy.

Coal Ball: What did you do to me?

Dorothy rolled her eyes, "This little thing holds a grudge. I didn't do it on purpose!"

The coal ball stood on its perch, glaring at her angrily.

Suddenly, screams rang out from outside the villa.

The three of them were stunned, looking at each other.

Dylan quickly stood up, "Let's go, upstairs. It's probably the zombie virus outbreak!"

Alberta followed closely behind, and after hesitating for a moment, Dorothy followed suit.

Arriving at Dylan's master bedroom, there was a huge floor-to-ceiling window that provided a clear view of the entire villa area.

At this moment, the entire villa area was chaotic, filled with screams.

Some people even ran out without caring about the cold, wrapped in blankets, followed by zombies trying to bite them.

Those who ran slowly or accidentally fell were pounced on by zombies, who bit into their bodies, leaving large patches of blood on the snow.

Dylan watched this scene coldly, as if he were an onlooker watching a good show.

Alberta and Dorothy, seeing this, couldn't help but turn pale, trembling all over!

Although Dylan had described the scene of a zombie outbreak, witnessing such a gruesome sight was still overwhelming for them.

Dylan turned around and patted Alberta and Dorothy on the shoulder, "These things were bound to happen. We just need to adapt slowly! We should prepare now; we'll start harvesting energy tomorrow!"

With that, he left without looking back, preparing some combat supplies.

"Oh my goodness, Dylan was right. Are these really zombies?" Dorothy's voice trembled as she expressed her astonishment.

Alberta stared blankly at everything in front of her, feeling sad, "They're in despair, but we're also powerless!"
